Very useful little video. Do you know if it's possible to remove and replace the metal door frame (with metal stud walls) using this method without cutting and replacing drywall? I have an inswing door that I need to make outswing but can't find any answers online.
Absolutely Timely jambs, are installed over the drywall And fastened through the drywall with screws Remove the door Remove the trim Remove the screws that hold the jamb Turn the system around And now you have an outswing
They don't If it's a heavy duty metal frame That is one piece with the molding Then it is inserted into a wall that was already existing And you must remove it the same way It's all one piece Simply take off the door Then you have to remove the frame There are two ways to do it If it is screwed on from the outside Just look for dimples on the jamb And remove the screws from those dimples If it is the kind that has the hidden fasteners You have to remove 2 in swath of whatever material is covering the wall framing from the entire molding area

And now you have an outswing
what if I have a metal door frame that appears to have the trim as part of the door frame. they dont look like they pop off
They don't
If it's a heavy duty metal frame

Simply take off the door
Then you have to remove the frame
There are two ways to do it

When you take away the two in the material
That will expose the screws that is holding on the frame to the framing
