I used to fall a sleep in my grandmas laundrey-room. I remember the smell of softner and clean clothes drying. And the relaxing sound of her washingmachine. It gave me good chills, and i felt so safe. I put a blanket over me and had a pillow and my teddybear on the carpet. Lol
I used to do the same thing when I was younger! at my grandparents place, I would sit on this small foot stool beside the washing machine, cover my head with my hood or something ( even though the room itself was quite dark) and lean up against it. It was a bonus if the dryer was going too.
The one thing i constantly loved since i was 6 years old and top loaders always sound the best its even more relaxing when its raining outside and xold outside but your in the laundry with the washing machine on and dryer which warms the room......ah simply beautiful
It had to do with vibration and water. And temp. I used to have a chair next to it I’d sit and use my crossed arms as a pillow with my head on the washer.
@lovelyliqua it's for relaxation. I don't understand why this doesn't have more thumbs up. I like it a lot and makes me feel extra cosy since my mom usually does laundry as I'm going to bed. Great video :3
the motor is actually always spinning counter-clockwise when in the agitation cycles, but something in the transmission causes the agitator shaft to turn both directions
IKR? I used take naps by the washing machine all the time! I thought I was so weird...I have a front load now--just NOT the same--No sloshing water! Thank you for posting this!
That is an amazing washing machine! The water still runs when you open the top. It hasn't been ruined by excessive safety crap I then have to try to disable. There are many dangerous things without safety locks. I mean, we have stairs, doors, by golly, we use forks and knives too. We have access to cars. Walking could be dangerous. Why is there no padding on every path?
I love this one! I like it more because it doesn't just have washing machine's sound but also the buttons/regulators sounds at the beginning. Thank you!
A field tech I met who goes about to various laundromats and laundries to do maintenance and repair on commercial washers & dryers often gets hypnotized and sleepy while working on a row of these machines when they are in operation. He said especially on wintery days they could do their bit on him. I can see why.
I definitely think toploader machines were the best. My granny had one and i could have listened to it go all day. So relaxing.who else wants one in 2018???
Wow, and I thought I was the only one who needed the washing machine sound to calm down and get to sleep. Always loved it since I was a kid. My favorite is when the machine is filling with water (from 19:31 to 24:45). It would be nice to just cut that part out and create a separate sound so I can repeat it over and over again.
I had the same washer but sadly, It became useless to us so we left it at our old home for the people to live their and enjoy it. Also our dryer nearly caught on fire so we moved it to the garage.
Back in the day (1970's) we used to put a cup of vinegar in the wash the first time we washed our blue jeans. It keeps them from fading so quickly. Then everyone started wearing faded jeans and we put bleach in instead.
This is awesome..I go to sleep everytime..could you maybe one day make it longer and do one with both washer & dryer at same time..again it's a awesome video
I used to open the washop so I could here it turn off. My parents couldn't stand it so they put one of those child safety locks but that didn't work because I broke it in half and dismantled it.
That is so! bizarre! i have never seen one of these in action before. It is actually rather freaky/scary :S Interesting video, i was a little uncomfortable watching it, as the ones we have are different to this. I'm a person very much at home and set in my ways with the things we have in the UK, and most things from around the world i find a little intimidating and unsettle me, and this is definetly one!! Thanks, as much as i was a little so-so about this video it was very interesting to watch:)
@ChillaxAbit I have been to the UK so I do know what you are talking about... they are different. We also have a different kind here that are "high efficiency" machines which I think are more similar to what you use.
@LovelyLiqua Maybe not if you live in an apartment? :) Definitely not the strangest request that I have gotten. Different people like different things/sounds so I don't judge. It was easy enough to make the video.
This has been the best "sound machine" for my son. Gets him to calm down and sleep every single time. Amazing!
+Kearstyn Clark Awww, I'm so happy to hear that!
OMG I love to sit and listen to washer and dryer don't know why but always mellowed me out and got me focused
I am so happy to hear that so many people have love for washing machine sound . It is such wonderful way to fall asleep 😴
i got really sad the day they invented "Silent" washers

That's a touching picture of a little one's memory.

@@jonmoris9354 I know that sensation only too well as I felt the washer & dryer were my friends.
We seem to have a lot in common
I can't believe I long forgot to thank you for doing my request! Thank you!

So relaxing and reassuring and when you look at the washer with its knobs and lid it seems to have a face...a goofy one but a face.
the motor is actually always spinning counter-clockwise when in the agitation cycles, but something in the transmission causes the agitator shaft to turn both directions

I feel a lot better..knowing i m not the only freak that enjoy the sound of washing machine.. even as a child.!
+Leonidas Daemon You definitely aren't the only one! I think it's kind of like how white noise is calming...
I think it reminds us of a time when we were safe and looked after.
Same here...
I think you nailed it on the head, Dr. !
ok I am crazy too!
Reading a lot of the comments, I am happy that I use this kind of music to help me sleep and also when I have anxiety.. So dream on people..
My apartment walls are so thin so thank you for this
Washers are like magic!!! They work themselves!!! 😃
Man if I could just smell a little tiny bit of bleach right now I'd be in heaven!
Wow! The water flow filled that washer in practically no time.

Gah! I can picture it .
I wouldn’t get anything done
Love this, so relaxing (I actually fell asleep on a washing machine once).
Lots of times....when I was very small!
I did more then once washer was in kitchen in a nook as was a chair when it stared up it was nice and warm and the vibrations soothing
I did it every time my mom washed clothes as a kid and I would put my ear to it
Never on one...but every Saturday I feel asleep on the linoleum floor right next to it with a towel for a blanket.
This is so wholesome you guys!
If I can't sleep.. I know where to come☺
Works every time
Thanks for the upload 👍👍

As a friend of mine said recently,"People that love ' white noise' must have the cleanest Laundry in town!" LOL!
when washing machine in high spin is very loud

An amazing person was born 2 months and 6 days after this video.
@cookieland925 Who were they your kid?
I had one of those old machines years ago, and a detergent bottle with a rubber valve press thing, this is nostalgia
I feel like I'm back in the womb. ahhhhh...so safe here... goodnight.

Love love love it !!!!! puts me to sleep EVERY TIME !! WONDERFUL JOB !
I really love this...Thanks!
When I first started watching this there were 7,500 views. Now there is over 1/2 million.
Washer motors question. Whats the difference between this motor and like the ones that maoa the quiet wash wash sound? like the newer models?
OMG this is the most weirdly satisfying thing to me ( well that and the sound of a ticking clock )
I used to open the washop so I could here it turn off. My parents couldn't stand it so they put one of those child safety locks but that didn't work because I broke it in half and dismantled it.
Good ol' direct drive whirlpools. You just can't beat em!

we used these in the UK in about late 50s early 60s my mother had one , and I had one also.
Could you do a load with the lid up the whole time? to bypass the switch just stick a pencil in the lock thing
I like the sound of it after when it drains
I used to sit by the washing machine as a kid to help me sleep now with technology I can do it with my phone lol
BuffStuff1000 but it just doesn't feel the same
fill for wash, wash, drain, spin, fill for rinse, rinse, drain, spin, end of cycles.
Why am I addicted to washer machines
Does anyone know what model & year this machine is?
ASMRTriggerhappy this is the best thing ever I will always put me to sleep and you should make more🤗🤗
I swear I used to have this exact kind of washer but it broke so we got a new one
Time for bed...time for this video......Zzzzzzzz......
347,000 Views for a Washing machine...???! that's more than any video on my channel (smh)
this video was good until 4:29
WHY WOULD YOU CLOSE THE LID!!!!!!!!!!
I love this sound!
Are these vertical machines still made? Or is it an old one?
This is a very old machine
Still made 2024
When I view this in full screen, the washer looks like a cartoon drunk duck.
I rinse the little cup, too! ok that was stupid i know.:/
Ohhhhhh...this is soooooo...gooood! Pass the softener....
Wow! you like washing machine's too!! I thought I was the only one & I have autism lol
This is so relaxing except when it breaks for rinse or spin!
I love it put me to sleep 😴
omg i had this one. whats the model?
This is quieter than my dad’s washing machine but it looks much newer than this yet it sounds like an airplane in the spin cycle
I want make a giant washing machine as a bed and swiming pool
Love washers forever!!!!
