Amazing instructions! I was skeptical to do this but followed these steps and my USB-C port is replaced and working properly again, complete with warp charging. Thank you!
Be careful when returning the sim card board, make sure the sim card slot is not skewed. The same when installing the plastic cover, the same board, it has hooks, before tightening the screws make sure they are all in place, or you will have to redo it. This is what I encountered and what was not emphasised in the video.
It looks like I got my USB port replaced too with these instructions. I'm not sure if the highlighted screws at each step are actually consistent with what I was getting. I mean, for stuff like that, I normally take pictures with my cell phone as a I go, but that was kind of a problem in this case! One gotcha I had was inserting the bottom board that has the SIM card slot. That has to be angled in, with the board getting under the tab on the case. A smart thing to do before putting the whole thing back together is to try to insert the SIM card and see if you lined it up.
When I removed the bottom board that covers the screws on the port, a tiny little black post with a red gasket fell out. It is about the size and shape of the screws but maybe 30% longer. The gasket is the same color as the ones on the sim tray and speakers. Do you have any idea what this is and how I can replace it properly?
I did replace yesterday the USB Port and battery and I would suggest that after reassemble bottom board before put black cover make sure SIM tray can be inserted into its slot and its level.
I have a terrible issue that not connect to pc. It suddenly appeared. I found the same issue through other user in Oneplus community. - I tried to connect in win7 and win10. - Of course, I installed the usb driver that you provide. - I used the original cable for connect the pc. - But, The phone detected the only charge mode. - If i remove and plug in the cable from phone several times, it sometimes connects properly. if i replace the charge cable, Can i fix it??
@@BrilexLaAuthority yeah if you go swipe down to see notifications there should be a thing that says charging, and by it should be a drop-down arrow you can click which will open the right settings page
I just did it and didn't replace the adhesive, the top area looks sealed but on the bottom near the charging port there was a tiny gap where water could seep through
Thanks for the video. My usb-c cables have been falling out and won't stay connected very well for as long as I can remember. I have to carefully plug it in and set it to where there is zero pull or tension (even the slightest) on the cable for it to stay charging. Vehicle mounts are a no-go as the cable will just fall right out after a few seconds. I don't now how it got like this because I've always been so careful plugging in and unplugging all of my devices since...ever. In any case, I now have my charging port ribbon/cable and new battery replacement and I'm going to attempt to crack open my OnePlus 7 Pro in the next few days and do the replacements. Fingers crossed!
@@dnevill Hi Dave. I completely lied when I said I was going to do the repair in a few days (5 months ago). I procrastinated and put it off. It was your post a week ago that reminded me that I needed to get this done. So.... I did the repairs today. It was tedious, but straight forward based on the video. The longest part of the job was getting all of the adhesive off of the front and back covers. One annoying moment was at the end when I was putting on the new adhesive seal. My finger was touching part of the sticky side when I was peeling off the plastic cover. I couldn't get my finger off of it without messing up about an inch of the seal. =( So I just razor bladed off that one inch and used the B-7000 sealant to fill in that area. I left the phone clamped for about 90 minutes and now it's been sitting for several hours. Everything it working good. I replaced the battery and USB-C plug. It's so awesome to connect to the charging connector again and have it lock in and not fall out. 🥳🎉
I bought the repair kit from them and I haven't seen any update on my order , also I saw some bad reviews about their customer service , lets see if I will receive my replacement kit
update: I received everything from their store, also they were friendly and gave a propper follow up on my order lets see if I can get fixed my oneplus 😎😅
it worked for me :) charging isn't like a game of operation anymore.

Cheers bud. Warp charge is back 👍
From where do you buy the flex cable might I ask?
Amazon? If so, please share me the link.
Well done, unlike a lot of other channels, you carefully discinnected the laser focus cable, two of the most pop U tubers did not

is this the same for the 7T pro, specifically the usb port part?
@witrigs do you have that part for a Oneplus 7T Pro Mclaren?

Hello thx for Video. Cam u Tell ne where i finde the harddisk on this phone
Will this work for a oneplus 7t pro?
I just did this and the battery I followed both of your videos to do it thank you and next is my screen
Will this solve the the cable not staying in the port? Mine works fine, but it slips loose while charging so it's a huge pain in the butt.
Does one plus service center do this or they ask to change motherboard ?

How will it take ?

if i replace the charge cable, Can i fix it??
Usually it's the cable that won't allow it to transfer if it's only detecting charging
you have to go into settings and change it from no data transfer to data transfer, then you can access internal storage
@@elijahv2 exactly... There is an option to change from charge only

What kind of Adhesives should we use?
good night changing it is necessary to reset the cell phone?
Awesome tutorial. And at least i dont have to solder anything lol.
Do you need to buy new adhesive for the back cover? Or can you refuse the old?
probably buy new if you want it to be somewhat waterproof again because it probably won't make perfect contact anymore
I just did it and didn't replace the adhesive, the top area looks sealed but on the bottom near the charging port there was a tiny gap where water could seep through
I found a kit that included two adhesive strips on Amazon.
Super clear and useful
