A lot of times, neighbors, good samaritans or passers by don't get involved in domestic arguments for good reasons. I had a neighbor at the house I grew up in, and he was a nice, loving, and kind man. He had a Harley and he often went out to the motorcycle bars around town. He was a tough looking, bigger guy. His name was Jimmy. He was out one night on his Harley and was cruising and wound up at a bar. He overheard a man and a woman fighting, and finally he ended up seeing the man punch the woman several times and the woman cowering in a corner after. The man continued to hit the woman and finally Jimmy walked over and started getting on the man, and asking the woman if she was okay and if he could help her. The man stabbed Jimmy, killing him. And the worst part, in my opinion, is when Jimmy first went up to them, the woman started talking smack to Jimmy. He tried to rescue her and lost his life over it. I know this information so well because his brother, who also lived in the house next door, was there with him and later told us all that had happened. So so tragic
It's a village of 4,200 people. The Chief of Police was crooked. Many small town departments are not worth calling because memories are long and you may end up being harassed and investigated. Add in the fact that some PDs still downplay domestic abuse and I can completely understand why she did not call.

He then explained, "Never try to save someone because no one will save you. Easiest way to die in this world is to get between a violent person and their victim." There was a great counsellor in the program who changed crims with restraining orders and deadbeat Dads into decent, remorseful but positive men. Low rate of recidivism. But I agree, most are recalcitrant and can't accept reality or responsibility.
Having had a violent relationship many years ago, sometimes when you do “wake up” to the facts, getting away from them is extremely difficult, sometimes impossible. Even without kids (thankfully) the protagonist will stalk, threaten, destroy what you like/love, purely to intimidate you into a nervous wreck. Luckily for me, I got away, but not unscathed. I still look over my shoulder and have some anxiety issues around other people. However, I did get far away and I’m ever thankful for that. Violent people are not toys, fixable or ever any much fun to be around. Violent people that use substances, alcohol are like playing with fire. Choose your romantic partners (and friends) VERY CAREFULLY, or be prepared to get far, far away from the start, just incase. There is so much crime going on the police just can’t cope and crimes against a person, can slip through the cracks.
Same here. After I finally got away I was stalked for 13 years. I'm lucky to be alive and still somewhat sane. I also have a hard time trusting and being at ease around people. Those scars and fears don't fade much. It can change you. But I have to be greatfull I'm still here. ❤️
I remember this Case! He's So Cruel! Carrie's Family has Suffered So Much! All these years later, and still No Answers! I can't imagine the Pain they've been Suffering for so long! My Precious Auntie was Murdered,and we've Never recovered, but I can visit her Grave! And her killer died in Prison.

That police chief should have been charged with more than dereliction of duties! So heartbreaking for Carrie and her family! Vincent is a POS! Glad he was still charged and is rotting in prison for life! His half brother and his father didn't get what they deserved!
People you never really know. While living in Reno, Nevada I knew an interesting and polite man ( at times ) in his mid twenties. He was charming, handsome, a very good dancer and had several on-and-off girlfriends. He took a liking toward my wife, she was a good friend of his parents. She was like a second mother. There was something about him that made me not like him, like his bravado, his untamed lies, claiming he done everything under the sun. One day he asked why I did not like him, and I said your just an arrogant, self- centered person, without understanding of love and friendship. Your just empty. He smiled. That's me. But nobody believes it. He was found guilty of rape and murder of mother of two. He stabbed her 19 times in the neck and chest, leaving her body near the university. I saw him that morning after the murder. He looked dazed, his eyes glassy. He was throwing clothes into a dumpster. I figured he had been out drinking all night. I went on to work. Three days later he was arrested. He was also charged with numerous rapes he confessed too. He received life in prison.
Your story is well-written and creates a clear picture. My stepdad counseled people just like him, in prisons. One really got him believing he had made progress with him, and that he was reformed. My stepdad felt good, seeing him at the grocery store with his wife, who had stood by him, after he was let out. Within 3 weeks, the parolee SA’d and took the life of a young mother in his apartment complex, in front of her small daughter. It’s chilling, who we don’t know we know. My stepdad related this story as dinner table conversation, when I was a teen. It made a lasting impression but, sadly, our kids do need to know.
I went to school with both of them. Its so sad, I wish he would give up her body, so her family can bury her remains. I pray for this family, that they have found peace....

I’ve always been a huge fan of yours Dr. Grande! This case hits quite literally home- it happened in my hometown and I remember it really well. Carrie’s cousin was my third grade teacher and I remember her spending many hours a day crying at her desk. Vincent’s father was a very well connected man and sort of ran a small town mafia to where no one crossed him. It’s rumored that he said “she’s in so many different places, they’ll never find her”. Not sure how true this is but everyone has their theories about what happened to Carrie. It’s a heart breaking story and I appreciate you covering it!!
She lied and her husband admitted it. She did not see Vincent not Carrie that night. It was other neighbors that were fighting but she decided to add to the story
Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I was married to the niece of the deputy chief of police of a town in Oklahoma. Plus she decided to have an affair with a tribal police officer. Plus her aunt worked at the county courthouse and knew all the judges and the DA. Well needless to say I was arrested in our house AFTER an argument. Which was COMPLETELY verbal!!! I was arrested for domestic violence. Which I can prove if a judge would allow me to. (This all happened more than 20 years ago.) I was also unaware that my attorney was friends with her mother. Which I found out AFTER taking a plea. I took the plea because I ran out of money for an attorney and after being gone and out of her and our children's lives for about six months. She wanted me to come home. Which tbh was all I wanted at the time. I just wanted my family back!!! The plea was the fastest way to get back home. Obviously everything fell apart again. But now I've lost ALL my 2A rights. Which is BS. I'm NOT a felon!! The plea was for a misdemeanor and the DA said my 2A rights were lost ONLY while I was on probation and didn't get into any further trouble. Which was a year, and I didn't get into any trouble with anyone during that time, or since tbh. Anyway, that's why nothing surprises me anymore. I hope all this made sense. I apologize for any typing errors.

Because I know for a fact the last sentence is "She shows no sign of any injuries and refused any and all medical attention." That doesn't sound like someone who just got "beat up" by their husband!!

After talking to my attorney here in Texas, I wasn't aware that after 5 years I could have requested a hearing to get my 2A rights. But I don't just want that, I want my record wiped clean. That plea is the ONLY thing I have on my record. Aside from a couple traffic tickets, that I have paid.

Always the victim who is expected to pick up and leave their life, friends and family behind to get away. How about charging the guy with multiple assaults when there were so many instances reported by family and friends and pluck the offender out of society far, far away. If local police don't listen - report to the next level and the next until something is done about it. If we're taking time here to read about these things, and as professional people, why are we not providing a path forward to victims and asking for changes in our system when we get the chance instead of just reporting the gory details? Probably kind of like why neighbors didn't call 911 - good story but it stops there and no one else's responsibility to try to make changes/do something about these things? A violent partner is in the process of "murdering" the other partner the first time they offend against that partner and during the entire process of doing everything in their power to take the other person's freedom away. The definition of murder is, "kill (someone) unlawfully and with premeditation." Does not killing someone's spirit count because that's what is being done in these circumstances.

Vincent was a violent abuser. Why Carrie would continue to see a guy like that is beyond me. The neighbor who witnessed the abuse was remiss in not calling the police, and the police themselves were corrupt. What a pathetic story!
@@lauriestump7134 I completely understand why it's hard to flee from an abuser. One reason could be financial, maybe there is a great imbalance, maybe the victim feels she can't survive on her own. Another reason could be fear of the unknown, maybe she feels it's better to stay where she is rather than procure a room with strangers. Another reason could be confusion and a misguided sense of love. Some abusers are very apologetic and charismatic and possess a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde persona confusing the victims conflicting emotions. In other words, when things are good they are good, when they are bad they are bad. I've only touched on a few reasons, but I get it, and yes, danger associated with leaving is a huge factor. Most control freaks don't take the victim trying to escape very well. So the victim feels trapped.
I don't blame Carrie for not leaving him, I could never understand why women would return to these creeps. But now I know, you get emotionally addicted to someone. He probably love bombed her before he got possessive and violent.

So at the beginning of the relationship you are the greatest person to ever exist, but by the end they have feasted so much on the negative stimuli in their brains they haven't learned to just dismiss, that they have devalued you into the enemy that wishes to destroy them.
I'll never forget this case; I remember seeing it on the local news back when it happened, when I was a kid. I grew up and still live about ten minutes away from where it happened. I think this was one of the reasons I'm interested in true crime still today.

It’s so sad to think doing the right thing, calling the cops on an abusive boyfriend, ends up so often with a death. And sadly you don’t pickup on people’s personality quirks quickly until you get into at least your late 20s/30s, i believe, if EVER, to protect yourself from bad people. I'm very aware that people can use what used to be called black humour as a way of coping with traumatic issues and don't know how Dr Grande handles it at times. I had to stop watching most of his videos, along with some True Crime ones (I got involved in the horrendous case of the four students who were murdered in Idaho), because it was way too much to deal with! I've also noticed that many other people mention that they enjoy the videos, which is their choice, but I'm wondering if a lot of them have become desensitised. 🙁
UPDATE: HA! I can't believe Dr. Grande didn't mention this! In 2013, Vincent was participating in a Dog Training Program in Prison. A German Shepherd named "THOR" attacked Vincent. Vincent suffered a tear through his cheek, nerve damage to his fingers and gums, and lost a large part of his NOSE! 😂 KARMA MF!! Vincent sued the Prison for $25k, but they settled with him for $7,500. One reason he got a settlement was because the dog was known to be aggressive. The previous owner had adopted it, then returned it due to it biting people. The training program was for Pet Therapy Animals and Handicap Assistance Dogs. How the Hell that dog ended up in the program is anyone's guess. Sure sounds like Karma was involved to me. 😂😂😂
The only thing that would make this story with the dog sweeter was if the dog’s name was “Karma”. I love German Shepherds so much💙. I think they can sense good people from evil ones like Vincent.
I feel sorry for the dog that bit him in prison, I hope it got it shots to stop it catching anything from this vile specimen. He had the cheek to sue the prison service and was awarded 7500 in compensation. The good news is he is permanently disfigured because the dog bit off part of his nose and in constant pain as it damaged his nerves. It's a pity it didn't chew off the whole of his face.
People, don’t waste your time with violent partners who do not acknowledge their problems and do not seek or benefit from help!! I say this because some go to therapy and claim the therapist says they are justified in what they do. They use it to further gaslight victims. One way or another, you will suffer greatly for no benefit. Surround yourself with nice people, even if that means there is only one person!

In addition to this, the contract is between the client and therapist and the therapist is unlikely to allow the partner to accompany them due to it interfering with the therapy and making the situation more complicated. If you choose family therapy, this is a different matter, but the therapist undertaking family therapy will not enter into a contract of the situation is likely to become difficult and emotionally out of control in sessions.

My family definitely intervened, & probably saved my life….. I never looked back, ever & still gives me ‘the creeps’ to this day.

When I was in 6th grade, my friend who was a tomboy punched me in the stomache for no reason. She had a twisted sense of humor. She played basketball. When I was in 1st grade one of my other tomboy friends took ramen from the trashcan and told me to eat it and kept pulling my hair. When I told on her to the teacher she was butthurt and we were no longer friends lol.

There was a great counsellor in the program who changed crims with restraining orders and deadbeat Dads into decent, remorseful but positive men. Low rate of recidivism. But I agree, most are recalcitrant and can't accept reality or responsibility.

Having had a violent relationship many years ago, sometimes when you do “wake up” to the facts, getting away from them is extremely difficult, sometimes impossible. Even without kids (thankfully) the protagonist will stalk, threaten, destroy what you like/love, purely to intimidate you into a nervous wreck. Luckily for me, I got away, but not unscathed. I still look over my shoulder and have some anxiety issues around other people.
However, I did get far away and I’m ever thankful for that. Violent people are not toys, fixable or ever any much fun to be around. Violent people that use substances, alcohol are like playing with fire.
Choose your romantic partners (and friends) VERY CAREFULLY, or be prepared to get far, far away from the start, just incase. There is so much crime going on the police just can’t cope and crimes against a person, can slip through the cracks.
Same here. After I finally got away I was stalked for 13 years. I'm lucky to be alive and still somewhat sane. I also have a hard time trusting and being at ease around people. Those scars and fears don't fade much. It can change you. But I have to be greatfull I'm still here. ❤️

People you never really know. While living in Reno, Nevada I knew an interesting and polite man ( at times ) in his mid twenties. He was charming, handsome, a very good dancer and had several on-and-off girlfriends. He took a liking toward my wife, she was a good friend of his parents. She was like a second mother.
There was something about him that made me not like him, like his bravado, his untamed lies, claiming he done everything under the sun.
One day he asked why I did not like him, and I said your just an arrogant, self- centered person, without understanding of love and friendship. Your just empty.
He smiled. That's me. But nobody believes it.
He was found guilty of rape and murder of mother of two. He stabbed her 19 times in the neck and chest, leaving her body near the university.
I saw him that morning after the murder. He looked dazed, his eyes glassy. He was throwing clothes into a dumpster. I figured he had been out drinking all night. I went on to work.
Three days later he was arrested. He was also charged with numerous rapes he confessed too. He received life in prison.
Your story is well-written and creates a clear picture. My stepdad counseled people just like him, in prisons. One really got him believing he had made progress with him, and that he was reformed. My stepdad felt good, seeing him at the grocery store with his wife, who had stood by him, after he was let out. Within 3 weeks, the parolee SA’d and took the life of a young mother in his apartment complex, in front of her small daughter. It’s chilling, who we don’t know we know. My stepdad related this story as dinner table conversation, when I was a teen. It made a lasting impression but, sadly, our kids do need to know.

I’ve always been a huge fan of yours Dr. Grande! This case hits quite literally home- it happened in my hometown and I remember it really well. Carrie’s cousin was my third grade teacher and I remember her spending many hours a day crying at her desk. Vincent’s father was a very well connected man and sort of ran a small town mafia to where no one crossed him. It’s rumored that he said “she’s in so many different places, they’ll never find her”. Not sure how true this is but everyone has their theories about what happened to Carrie. It’s a heart breaking story and I appreciate you covering it!!

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I was married to the niece of the deputy chief of police of a town in Oklahoma. Plus she decided to have an affair with a tribal police officer. Plus her aunt worked at the county courthouse and knew all the judges and the DA.
Well needless to say I was arrested in our house AFTER an argument. Which was COMPLETELY verbal!!! I was arrested for domestic violence. Which I can prove if a judge would allow me to. (This all happened more than 20 years ago.) I was also unaware that my attorney was friends with her mother. Which I found out AFTER taking a plea. I took the plea because I ran out of money for an attorney and after being gone and out of her and our children's lives for about six months. She wanted me to come home. Which tbh was all I wanted at the time. I just wanted my family back!!! The plea was the fastest way to get back home. Obviously everything fell apart again. But now I've lost ALL my 2A rights. Which is BS. I'm NOT a felon!! The plea was for a misdemeanor and the DA said my 2A rights were lost ONLY while I was on probation and didn't get into any further trouble. Which was a year, and I didn't get into any trouble with anyone during that time, or since tbh.
Anyway, that's why nothing surprises me anymore.

After talking to my attorney here in Texas, I wasn't aware that after 5 years I could have requested a hearing to get my 2A rights. But I don't just want that, I want my record wiped clean. That plea is the ONLY thing I have on my record. Aside from a couple traffic tickets, that I have paid.
Vincent is guilty. People don't just up and disappear. She's got to be somewhere. He did it. It's pretty clear.

Always the victim who is expected to pick up and leave their life, friends and family behind to get away. How about charging the guy with multiple assaults when there were so many instances reported by family and friends and pluck the offender out of society far, far away. If local police don't listen - report to the next level and the next until something is done about it. If we're taking time here to read about these things, and as professional people, why are we not providing a path forward to victims and asking for changes in our system when we get the chance instead of just reporting the gory details? Probably kind of like why neighbors didn't call 911 - good story but it stops there and no one else's responsibility to try to make changes/do something about these things? A violent partner is in the process of "murdering" the other partner the first time they offend against that partner and during the entire process of doing everything in their power to take the other person's freedom away. The definition of murder is, "kill (someone) unlawfully and with premeditation." Does not killing someone's spirit count because that's what is being done in these circumstances.
Dr Grande, you seem extra critical of the police when compared to other true crime channels. In the past have you had negative encounters with the police?
Vincent was a violent abuser. Why Carrie would continue to see a guy like that is beyond me. The neighbor who witnessed the abuse was remiss in not calling the police, and the police themselves were corrupt. What a pathetic story!
Why? Because leaving someone like him is very dangerous. As Carrie’s case shows yet again. She was trying to leave him and that’s why he unalived her.
@@lauriestump7134 I completely understand why it's hard to flee from an abuser. One reason could be financial, maybe there is a great imbalance, maybe the victim feels she can't survive on her own. Another reason could be fear of the unknown, maybe she feels it's better to stay where she is rather than procure a room with strangers. Another reason could be confusion and a misguided sense of love. Some abusers are very apologetic and charismatic and possess a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde persona confusing the victims conflicting emotions. In other words, when things are good they are good, when they are bad they are bad. I've only touched on a few reasons, but I get it, and yes, danger associated with leaving is a huge factor. Most control freaks don't take the victim trying to escape very well. So the victim feels trapped.
I don't blame Carrie for not leaving him, I could never understand why women would return to these creeps. But now I know, you get emotionally addicted to someone. He probably love bombed her before he got possessive and violent.
It is also a very dangerous time when someone leaves someone like this.
That is the first phase of the classic narcissistic pattern.
@@istateyourname4710 I wonder, but I think often people who have borderline do it as well and I don't think they are narcissistic, just unable to regulate their emotions. So at the beginning of the relationship you are the greatest person to ever exist, but by the end they have feasted so much on the negative stimuli in their brains they haven't learned to just dismiss, that they have devalued you into the enemy that wishes to destroy them.
I'll never forget this case; I remember seeing it on the local news back when it happened, when I was a kid. I grew up and still live about ten minutes away from where it happened. I think this was one of the reasons I'm interested in true crime still today.
It’s quite interesting how some people select romantic partners. Instead of looking at traits that makes a good partner such as consistency, reliability, kindness and empathy, the focus is heavily placed on physical attractiveness and other superficial qualities.

I lived 5 miles from Blanchester during this time...He definitely killed that poor girl, her family still lives there and has a angel statue in their front yard.
It’s so sad to think doing the right thing, calling the cops on an abusive boyfriend, ends up so often with a death. And sadly you don’t pickup on people’s personality quirks quickly until you get into at least your late 20s/30s, i believe, if EVER, to protect yourself from bad people.
And sometimes they hide so well even dr grande couldn’t see it in them.

I'm very aware that people can use what used to be called black humour as a way of coping with traumatic issues and don't know how Dr Grande handles it at times.
I had to stop watching most of his videos, along with some True Crime ones (I got involved in the horrendous case of the four students who were murdered in Idaho), because it was way too much to deal with!
I've also noticed that many other people mention that they enjoy the videos, which is their choice, but I'm wondering if a lot of them have become desensitised. 🙁
The major piece of evidence was the incident witnessed by the neighbor.
UPDATE: HA! I can't believe Dr. Grande didn't mention this! In 2013, Vincent was participating in a Dog Training Program in Prison. A German Shepherd named "THOR" attacked Vincent. Vincent suffered a tear through his cheek, nerve damage to his fingers and gums, and lost a large part of his NOSE! 😂 KARMA MF!! Vincent sued the Prison for $25k, but they settled with him for $7,500. One reason he got a settlement was because the dog was known to be aggressive. The previous owner had adopted it, then returned it due to it biting people. The training program was for Pet Therapy Animals and Handicap Assistance Dogs. How the Hell that dog ended up in the program is anyone's guess. Sure sounds like Karma was involved to me. 😂😂😂
A dog like that has to be euthanized, just like little man Vincent.! Upon return of with verified attacks , he should have been humanely euthanized

I feel sorry for the dog that bit him in prison, I hope it got it shots to stop it catching anything from this vile specimen. He had the cheek to sue the prison service and was awarded 7500 in compensation. The good news is he is permanently disfigured because the dog bit off part of his nose and in constant pain as it damaged his nerves. It's a pity it didn't chew off the whole of his face.

People, don’t waste your time with violent partners who do not acknowledge their problems and do not seek or benefit from help!! I say this because some go to therapy and claim the therapist says they are justified in what they do. They use it to further gaslight victims.
One way or another, you will suffer greatly for no benefit.
Surround yourself with nice people, even if that means there is only one person!
If someone claims a therapist said something which is hard to believe, ask to speak with the therapist or accompany them to a therapy session.

In addition to this, the contract is between the client and therapist and the therapist is unlikely to allow the partner to accompany them due to it interfering with the therapy and making the situation more complicated. If you choose family therapy, this is a different matter, but the therapist undertaking family therapy will not enter into a contract of the situation is likely to become difficult and emotionally out of control in sessions.
don't waste your time with them even if they are in therapy, especially if they're violent

Vincent had his Nose bitten off by a Guard Dog during a training programme he was part of in 2013 in prison. He won a settlement lawsuit.

When I was in 6th grade, my friend who was a tomboy punched me in the stomache for no reason. She had a twisted sense of humor. She played basketball. When I was in 1st grade one of my other tomboy friends took ramen from the trashcan and told me to eat it and kept pulling my hair.
