- Skippy the resident squirrel was up in the nest tree at the same time Gabrielle was there. Gabby sees the squirrel and she flies to the nest to grab it for breakfast but Skippy was too fast and made it to a lower branch.
Skippy taunts Gabby as she tries to grab him. Skippy will daringly stare her down from a lower branch. He is a very lucky squirrel because Gabby was within inches of nabbing herself breakfast! Thank you for watching!

Reminds me of the way a particular squirrel taunts one of our dogs. It ALWAYS does this, and our dog NEVER gets close to it, even when the squirrel runs through the yard. It’s very creative in how it taunts, running along the top of the fence and stopping directly in front of our pup, staring at her as she goes crazy. It jumps down to a lower wall and runs back and forth, then heads up the nearest tree. Secretly, we’re always rooting for the squirrel.

Gray Squirrels can be teasers. I know of one who tease a Siamese cat. The cat would at the base of a tree the Squirrel was in. It would come down the trunk of the tree then stop above the Siamese cat's head. The Squirrel would jump over the cat then run.

Reminds me of the time one of our feral cats was in a tree with a hawk, and he pounced at it! Hahahahaha!
Skippy lives life on the edge! Unafraid of sudden death by talon, he powers through the area around the nest as if he owned it instead of Gabby. One could call this bravery or overconfidence but the fact he almost became food suggests he should reconsider poking the bear as they say. Great footage captured here LH! Had to chuckle at this one. This is so funny and beyond cute. Gabby almost looks like a cat staring at a mouse going the nerve of this squirrel, like Skippy must be halfway out of his nutty little grey furred mind. Still you gotta the crazy little bugger for talking junk up at Gabby hahahaha. It's nice to see humorous moments in nature caught like this. But Skippy better hope he doesn't get caught slipping especially when both Beau and Gabby are on the nest together, cause that can spell imminent doom for our bushy tailed nut collecting Evil Kinevel like squirrel 😅

At 3:26 I swear I heard a rattling 🐍 sound??? Plus Skippy keeps hissing and to me appears to be trying to get away from something. Maybe Skippy is trying to tell Gabby there's something in the nest? Especially because Skippy was not running away and was making sounds. I know squirrels can be very playful but Skippy seemed to be trying to communicate especially with a couple holes in the nest and the way Skippy was staring at Gabby and Skippy's tail in a warning position.
