Mans dropping absolute gems and people in the early comments are complaining about the type of beat LOL. Take the lesson and apply it to the kind of beat you want to make. This guy is an absolute treasure and yet people still have to find a complaint. Thanks so much for your continued tips and hard work Marlow!

Hands down the best boom bap / sample based education channel on TH-cam, no question. I still use Marlow’s pad 1 sample chopping technique on a DAILY basis, (add midi bar to play pad 1 + play drum loop in background, move sampler start slider while repeatedly hitting play until you find a good sound -> copy pad1 to pad 2 -> find new sample on pad 1, copy to 3 etc) easily the most useful workflow thing I’ve learned. Now I need to work on layering!
I appreciate you showing this. I always get stuck in the 8 bar loop. And often times stay in my own head looking for the perfect transition to the next sequence. In the end I get stuck with just that 8 bar loop.
Love these videos! You just show us an concept, an idea of approaching a part of production without forcing a "way of doing it". I'm able to learn much more this way.
Yooo! @MarlowDigs - This is a great video - thanks as always for sharing your process! BTW - I love that Dexter Wansel sample! I recognize it from some digging I did a while back on Tracklib. Dude is a treasure trove with such beautiful playing! I like how you used it here.
Still catching up on your older videos. Man this one was perfect today! Im struggling with a hook right now and always look to my top You Tube beatsmith's for idea's and inspiration. This was absolutely the best watch today! As always Mr. Diggs, appreciate your time and insight. Salute!
Good Video bro!!!I do this all the time with my live instrumentation on the live 2 but it was so good to have it solidified from you philosophical approach Marlow bro!!!
I really like your videos and your workflow. As a beginner in beat making, I have a habit of listening to records when I'm not making beats. When I find a good record, I really want to extract and organize the parts I need, just like the browser in your video. I saw the pre-processed version of 'The Futuristic Sounds of Sun Ra'-is it possible for you to share the pre-processing steps with everyone? For example, how to save them as individual WAV files
Is there a benefit to having multiple sequences over just one with multiple layered samples on track 1 - 10? I usually approach it from one sequence and use the tracks to build off my beat creating loops and layers while using the track mute to mute the loops I crated. Then copy to a 2nd sequence once I figure out how I want to layout the track. Then use track mutes on the 2nd sequence to make the beat by copying the bars to how ever many minutes my layout goes. If that makes sense. Its easier to show than type it.
Off topic but man I would so appreciate your input on how you record video and sync audio with your MPC? I have a Scarlett audio interface and a GoPro hero 10, not sure if they are compatible. Thanks so much!
So many times I've done this only to find myself on the other side of the planet. Iol it definitely takes focus. Question: do you use the Heat with your MPC all the time? I was listening to Ginga today as was getting ready for work. And I noticed it has a certain warmth even through my phone speaker. Impressive
@marlodigs hey I’m totally off-topic. Apologies for that but I have a question if you only had to choose between the two to be on your master bus, what choice would you make between the heritage, audio successor, compressor or the fatso?
I think it has the do with his ‘master’ out chain, i think it goes from the mpc to the analog heat and than through his eq, compressor (maybe even a transient shaper, not sure about this one) But he has a video showing the chain
As always Marlow is on point with key tips and tricks to his workflow. Normally people won’t share this type of information. Much respect Marlow and thank you for all the gems. 🫡
Swear to god your videos led me to do this naturally! I have over 40 skeletons from last month to go back to and work on. 💯🫡🔥👽 Making drum loops an throwing vinyls on or samples is the greatest thing ever! KEEP GROWING! 🫡😤

Were they deleted? Because I'm looking at all 14 comments and don't see any complaints...
@@iAmWrythm must have been. There was someone complaining about the sleepy beats and asking for something more upbeat
@@RustyShacklefordIrishHipHop Weird. Imagine complaining about Marlow's beats LOL.
Thanks 🙏🏼 I guess some people just let the actual information fly over their heads .

daniel dumile, heh? you aint slick. which video is this technique in though, seriously?

Marlow drops another informative tutorial. You mean so much to the whole MPC community! Salute to you, MPC Head!
I appreciate that! Thanks for turning in
That Roberta n Donny Sample gave me chills

I appreciate that! I don't believe in telling people to do it one way only, that defeats the purpose of being creative.
The chops you chose were perfect for this masterclass. Preciate the knowledge bro.

Yes Dexter Wansel has great samples fr 🔥🔥🔥

Another well produced, helpful video - thanks

Thankyou so much I'm still very much a beginner with the mpc one.Your videos are so helpful ,wish you the best with all your work.
Thanks, 🙏🏼
Great minds think alike! I need to play around with more layering tho. Thanks for the inspiration, and dope beat as usual!

Very useful information thanks for sharing, love the sound you achieve 👍
Thanks 🙏🏼👊🏼
Very appreciated as always. Thanks and Peace

Problems started when u want to apply little change for full song. You can't do it for all sequences at time cos they are uniq.
Amazing beat sir! I appreciate the vibez
Dope video as always
Dope I needed this … Thanks

Hi, very nice channel! Do you have a fixed velocity for samples and drums during the recording?
I always record full level and then adjust volumes as I see fit.
Ok thanks for the tip ;)
Yo, I have those chops from your Patreon! it's always nice to see how you use them.
Word up great tips.
Thanks 👊🏼
Off topic but man I would so appreciate your input on how you record video and sync audio with your MPC? I have a Scarlett audio interface and a GoPro hero 10, not sure if they are compatible. Thanks so much!
I record everything separately and put them in sync in the video editor
This beat is so cold 🧊🧊🧊

Question: do you use the Heat with your MPC all the time? I was listening to Ginga today as was getting ready for work. And I noticed it has a certain warmth even through my phone speaker. Impressive
Yes I use it on all my beats. Is always on the main output adding that extra color and saturation.
@marlodigs hey I’m totally off-topic. Apologies for that but I have a question if you only had to choose between the two to be on your master bus, what choice would you make between the heritage, audio successor, compressor or the fatso?
I never used the fatso but I would probably get it over the successor if I had to choose
thanks for the response 🔥👌🏿
Its any difference between an X and Live 2 in a mixdown quality or? what can You say?
💎💎💎
is there a reason why your samples are low in volume ?
I prefer it that way
I think it has the do with his ‘master’ out chain, i think it goes from the mpc to the analog heat and than through his eq, compressor (maybe even a transient shaper, not sure about this one)
But he has a video showing the chain
@@bunnymk2680yeah my samples come back quieter from my SP404 and I set levels during mixing
Watch his "5 tips" video he made recently. A big reason is to let his drums sit up front and pop more.

Great video, but please stop using the MPC X so I will stop wanting one 😂
Sorry!😂✌🏼
lol byby this wokflow
