Thanks for tuning in, make sure you tell me what samples you like digging for ✌🏼
Oh shit! Just noticed I wasn''t even Sub'd to ya, Brother!
Sorted now, sorry, been watching your gold for a minute now, too.
Keep the good stuff firing, your grooves and chops are HUGE!
Head nodding in Cornwall, UK!
I love Rhodes samples and library samples, jazz pianos and bass…
🙌🏼🔥❤️
Every week we come here to learn 🙏
This is off topic but I just have to say to have Marlow Digs, A Tribe Called Quest, DJ Shadow's Endotroducing & Primetive Strike in shuffle is perfection.
Man I love the smooth drum loop you used on all of the examples. You went off on the saxophone chops, that part was crazy!
Appreciate that🙏🏼
I'm right there with you on your dig selections and listening.. , highly recommend digging thru 60s/70s progressive psychedelic rock jazz etc there is so much gold... Great video brother.
Great songs, ur Rhodes sound never gets old, u inspired me to use them all the time
Lord Quas! Fantastic planet. I own that record.
Thanks for sharing more of your techniques (sauce). Your beats are so dope. You're a huge inspiration. I just can't get my drums to sound as good!
Mastering and levels
do you work those process on the mpc or use a daw? i'm always struggling to choose the right path haha@@mpchead
I've been trying to find this kind of video for so long. I was so happy to this this in my notifications from you. Keep it up marlow

This a dope video 🔥🔥🔥
🙏🏼🔥🔥🔥
Bro your are amazing how you are able to chop up,different songs and blend them into a new song with your signature sound
Is all about the first layer setting up the mood, the rest just follows
I finally bought an MPC because of @mpchead
So inspiring ☮️🙏🏼
Marlow droppin a few needles! Great video, really enjoyed this style.
Thanks 🙏🏼
Loved the beat bro! The sax tied it together hard. And the style of video was such a great insight into your process and inspirations.
Thank you for sharing this insight bro; really enjoyed this video!
Happy to hear it 🙏🏼
If I'm sampling from TH-cam, I'm sampling largely according to the mood. I live in Finland so here it is really hard to find any really good sample music from secondhand stores. Then I'm really excited about some really small things that I find that I would skip completely after finding on youtube.
What samplers do you use?
@@jamalempfehlung9841 I have an mpc 1000 and a Zoom sampletrak. I just got mpc Live 2 but I haven't had time to learn how to use it yet. If I sample from youtube then I'll do the beats in the studio.
@@jamalempfehlung9841I also sample off TH-cam, audacity is really good for screen recording things you like. I've also used it to capture and sample audio from games, etc.
beautiful beatz man!!!
Thanks 🔥
Excellent! Tx for the tips and inspiration!
Thanks for tuning in ✌🏼
Super dope records marlow! thx for sharing
Great video with a lot of great tips ❤
Thanks so much!🙏🏼
Great video 💯🫡
Great records. Dope beats by the way
🙏🏼
The only yt channel that i have with the bell on! :V thanks for sharing your técnica. eu amo samplear Astrud Gilberto, fez um beat com O Morro (Não Tem Vez) :D not that lo-fi tho 😅
Cool, thanks!🙏🏼 vouch tentar
Yo I was just sampling Plantasia earlier today! That’s wild
In my case,I find the main layer, mostly on YT,then I go try to find some layers in sample packs. I'm not in that level when I know where to search to some specific crazy samples. But you taught me that Sun Ra has some crazy sounds indeed
Experimental jazz, avantgarde, spiritual jazz are some of many genres.
@@mpchead thanks!
smooth af beats, respect!
More crate digging please Marlow
yup you pulling out jewels lol as sample prod myself astud ..,getz..in my crates much love!!
very cool insight, thank you Marlow 🙏🏼
I am subbed to you on my main YT music account, idk why i never get notifications or video suggestions of yours like I do on this one, I need to look into that ..
That's weird that you don't maybe youtube is hating on me 😂
MADLIB SAMPLE
awesome!
Nice!
am really liked of "Mother Earth's plantasia", especially "Ode to an African Violet".
...is very hot smash-hit.)
I've been relying on TH-cam to sample for years. Have a few records, but the bluetooth record player is too unstable to use. Layering is key along with making sure the samples are not too bass heavy unless needed. The process is very random so I just go and make things work which is unpredictable, the way I like it. Thx for sharing!!
the rhodes will forever be …ppl will use it forever keep doing you
Of course 🙏🏼
I knew it 😊
Hey man! You look ripped you goin to gym? 😂 Besides really diggin the sound, good job.. You just got the warmth ❤
😂 nah man just trying to lose some wait but I seem to gain muscle instead
Grande Marlow, como é que está a bateria da Live 2? :p Excelente vídeo!
Ta porreira, nem reparo muito nisso, tem funcionado tudo bem
With MPC stems do you think the samples you look for will change at all? Or will you stick to the same things, but use them differently?
I don’t look for any instruments specifically but I do like to use jazz fusion a lot, (stuff produced by the Mizell Bros especially) as well as original movie scores. I also like to use things from philly grove records or other Philadelphia record labels. It is soul and r&b akin to Motown. Delphonics and Teddy Pendergass are famous names on Philly groove. I also like to use old Afrofunk records and Dub records for drum samples. To me reggae songs have some of the dirtiest snare sounds
To me stems is just another filter, it won't change much of my process but yeah I am starting to test new sounds, so I guess that it will take me in a new direction maybe
@@mpchead I think Stems will be great for pulling out of genres you normally would not put in a hip hop beat. Vocals for example could be pulled from anywhere.
I guess this isn’t new technology. Stems as a concept has been around for a while. It’s just exciting to be able to use it directly in the MPC
Far Away took me somewhere Fam..
Why do I need to make beats when Marlow Digs does it so sublimely already :)
🙏🏼
I just wanted too ask you about releasing Beats. What's a platform you would recommend for releasing music on and would you recommend for it to be Copyrighted or what's the method!
Lonnie Liston Smith
Hiroshi Suzuki/Cat
did you ever used the mpc 1000 and the mpc 2500? what do you think of them?
Used the 2500 it is nice, it has everything you need to make beats
Great, Vid. How would you use these jazz samples and filter them before the STEMS update?
Just the regular LP/HP/BP filter and chopping in a way that makes it easier to blend the chop with the drums.
A fifteen minute masterclass….
🔥🔥🔥✊🏽
Exquisite.
