The nostalgia on this album is insane, and I wasn’t even alive when this album was released.

You should react to their live album next! It ends with a live version of this song which is, in my opinion, the peak of music. It takes this masterpiece and somehow makes it 10x more transcendent and incredible

someone knows if the final explosion is improvised (drums and guitar after the violin)?

Yurameki in the air from 98.12.28 is for me the perfect conceptual song possible

@@johnsmithsu it doesn't matter wether it was improvised or not, this was a live performance and it is somehow more incredible then any studio version could ever be. Fishmans managing this in itself is a Miracle. 98.12.28 is undoubtedly a milestone in music history that will only become recognized as this later because of it's lack of popularity but at the same time I know it will be recognized due to it's perfection.

I can really recommend the live version of this song, from the album 98.12.28 Otokotachi no Wakare
(as well as the rest of the live album, really). It elevates it from being amazing to something out of this world

Yep live version of this is essential. Another song on that album to definitely check out is Yurameki in the Air.

    Blur - 13
Boris - Flood (my favourite album/song but understandable if you arent interested)

Gotta react to uchu nippon setegaya now, then their other masterpiece, the live album 98.12.28

  • @danpereyra2165

If you want to listen to more of Fishmans, I strongly recommend you to listen to the previous and next studio albums to this one: 'Kuuchuu Camp' (1996) and 'Uchu Nippon Setagaya' (1997), and then their magnum opus, their live album '98.12.28 Otokotachi no Wakare'. Those are their best records, the latter being excellent; the previous ones they did were more dub/reggae and are average, decent (well, 'Orange' is more rockish and has some strong parts). But the more dream-pop side of them is perfection (Night Cruising is out of this world).

Please do 98.12.28 otokotachi no wakare it's a recording of their final performance ever, it was supposed to be a farewell to their bass player who was leaving the band, but as you know, the singer died a few weeks later on. you can almost feel this in the music, it really does feel like a final goodbye to someone they didn't know was leaving.
They perform most of their most popular songs here and end it off with an even longer version of long season that just somehow manages to improve on everything in the already perfect song, this performance feels like their entire musical career put into one beautiful piece of art and its one of if not my favorite song of all time and I think you would love it too.

You should add Foxygen’s “Take the Kids Off Broadway”. Don’t think it’s very popular but has some very interesting ideas of retro production. Lots of Rolling Stones/Velvet Underground vibes
As well as Can’s “Future Days.” 4 songs; 40 minutes. Made in ‘73-incredible journey and way ahead of its time.

I know that you get a lot of request but I think you would like Black Country, New Road - "for the first time". They are very inspired by Slint and Black Midi, epic and theatrical album. If you gonna try one song, pick "Sunglasses". Anyway, love your content! peace

hello can you react to any paysage d'hiver album? it's a one-man project that makes a unique brand of super atmospheric black metal. I would suggest you listen to choose to these 4 albums; Im wald, Geister, Paysage d'hiver or Kristall & Isa. the last one is the shortest. I suggest you really check out this project even if you are not into black metal.

3:35 "precise, perfect pitched" it's ok man you don't gotta lie lmao, in all seriousness though singers don't have to be "talented" to be great, what I love about the vocals is how raw the emotion in his voice sounds

You guys missed my point, Sato is an amazing vocalist but saying his voice is "precise" and "perfectly pitched" is just straight up wrong lol that's like saying MC Ride from death grips has a soothing and soft vocal delivery
