      My thoughts exactly. I can see some buying it to display for advertising but really like that they are going to tear it apart and use knowledge gained to make improvements or justify engineering decisions. Living in Ohio I can't see any truck surviving our metal-dissolving winter roads so it's amazing to see anything with this many miles as here it would be a pile of rust.

      lightnin.K always back to basics i guess...
      Follow the maintenance schedule
      Replace the wear and tear abit before the actual time (to prevent it failing during use, which might damage other components)
      Dont overburden the vehicle (dont floor it, dont speed like a madman, dont overload)
      Keep it clean inside n out (to take care of the paint, so that the paint can protect the metal. To prevent dust and dirt ruining the wiring insulators)
      Drive easy when cold
      Try to avoid traffic jams (start and stop traffic is a guaranteed way to cut ur cars drivetrain lifespan by half).
      Troubleshoot asap any funny noises or weird driving sensations (jerkiness, unstable acceleration, rough noises from the engine or tires)
      Try to keep things stock and original/oem. Dont go cheap on parts.

    I think it's awesome that they care enough to see this as an opportunity to examine their product’s strengths and weaknesses. Probably the best Toyota commercial I've ever seen, and it wasn't even meant to be that! We've all heard all the manufactures tell us how great their product is. How committed to quality and strength and dependability they are. I’ve never been impressed by any of these claims. I've always felt actions speak louder than words. This is proof that they are truly working on continually improving.
    And that’s Awesome!

I would be still driving it today if I didn't get hit by a tractor trailer in 2011. That twisted the poor little suv right out of whack. I had to change a clutch at around 550,000 and I lost 5th gear (OD) while driving through the mountains in 2007. I'm a large man as well. 6'5" +300lbs. Engine had good compression right 'till the end.

    Anytime I think about selling my '05 Tundra (175k miles) I watch this video.
    That's super impressive!
    The video also wants to make me skip doing my timing "chain".
    I think I can squeeze another 300k out of it.

    • @BobTheHatKing
      @BobTheHatKing 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don’t push it. From what I read that’s an interference engine, don’t destroy your engine because you neglected to maintenance. Change it when it’s due, but granted if you drive mostly highway you can get away with pushing it a little bit

    • @pH7screwtube
      @pH7screwtube 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah...... The engine has a timing belt. Not sure why he keeps saying chain. And you should always change the water pump and belt at the same time.
      And yes, its an interference engine, which is why they moved to the newer 4.6L in 2010. I hear its more reliable than the 5.7L.

    Unfortunately you'll probably never see a vehicle with this many miles up here in the northeast. The salt relentlessly kills vehicles. My car has 138k miles and runs perfect but there's rust everywhere and it probably only has two or three years left before it's no good. Sucks. Still, kudos to Toyota they make great trucks

    The truck is from la that's why. They have long flat roads and they don't have any rust if that was up north it would be rusted to hell. Frame and body!

      +MontyCarlo1977 I know basically anywhere up north. If you look for trucks for sale down south you'll see they have a lot more miles than ones here like 300,000-500,000 miles here they barely get to 200,000 before rusting out. Notice how the Toyota guy in the video is only worried about the welds and the seat holding up he doesn't even care about rust.

    • @djeazy2012
      @djeazy2012 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah but he was hauling for a hot shot company and saw lots of salt air doing his deliveries, this guy is local to where I live I know the conditions they are not always the best, I'm not a huge Toyota fan but not many people in my area have vehicles that last that long and are still in this good of conditions

      I was hoping he would correct himself but he didn't. He just kept saying it.
      All 4.7s have a timing belt and 07 was the last year to offer the 4.7 before offering the 4.6
      Bought a 07 with the 4.7 with 22k miles for 20k off the lot. Should have kept it but ended up with a 2010 with a 5.7.
