- In this video I'm so very excited to be introducing you to my December 2023 designer fabric collection for Riley Blake Designs called MERCANTILE and tell you all about the sew along quilt MERCANTILE SAMPLER and all other fun things that coordinate:)
I have a sneak peek and pre-yardage of my HOME TOWN collection to show you ...and let's chat about the "Home Town Sew Along" that will be starting in September of 2023.
I'll also show you my next Bee Basics collection called BEE DOTS...and tell you about the quilts I've designed with Bee Dots:)
I give you an update on CALICO Quilt & Quilt Seeds as well as a sneak peek on my upcoming BEE VINTAGE Sew Along.
I also show and tell about my new notions that go with all of these collections ...and chat about the "WORLD of LORI HOLT" catalog and also a short chat about my CHUNKY THREAD.

Lori wins again!! I'm not certain why but, I am addicted to your fabrics and designs. I guess because it reminds me sew much of my maternal grandmother who was deaf but, would make clothing without patterns and spent every evening hand piecing hexies while she hummed. I miss her sew much. I'm really glad that you share with us some of the thought process behind your designs.
I was thinking the same thing when your comment caught my eye. Lori’s stuff brings me back to my grandparents farm and my grandma’s sewing room. Your comment hit everything I was thinking right on the head.

Hello Lori, I love the quilt at 23:20, it would make the cutest Oil cloth table-cloth for pic-nics and back yard barbecues. No way I'd put my beautiful quilt like that out there for barbecue sauce, and ketchup to ruine it.
The Quilted Witch is adorable I agree with you no scarry stuff, besides it would go on the guest bed.

Oh I love the Mercantile!! Takes me back. I turned 70 in March. My Granny Lovett was a quilter from Mississippi and these frabrics remind me of her old quilts. I Love the Vintage Sayings. I have heard them all my life.
Lori, when you talk about growing up in your hometown and with your family, I have aunts with the some of the same names as my aunts, and my grandma was a quilter as well. She never sewed on an electric sewing machine. She always used a treadle machine. You just make me remember my family times.

I rarely make comments on youtube except for matters that are of importance or when i appreciate a video that has been posted. This time, i just wanted to let you know that i have enjoyed all the tutorials and videos of your chain and they have been key in helping me make quilts using you patterns and fabric and i hope there will be plenty more to come. I also enjoyed those prepared by Kimberly as well as your flosstubes. Many thanks for making them available and for all the hard work you put in.
Wonderful fabric,patterns and everything,struggle in UK to get much of them,there is one company that seems to have some of the supplies,but they are quite expensive.

You are so creative and i really enjoy your stories, i can relate to your mercantile story, my grandparents owned through the 50, 60, and 70s Eldys Cabins..lolo restaurant, cabin, boat, canoe rentals…in north central Saskatchewan small town….and they both ran it other than summer season when they did have the help of their little family( my parents and aunt and uncle)also of course six of us grandchildren running wild at the lake…lolol ..we were allowed so much candy and pop per day and we did get to eat in the cafe on occasion…lolol….I still have he original large clock hanging currently in my home with Eldys Cabins on it…as well as many other of their vintage marketing items like calendars, matches….thank you for sharing…brought great memories back for me….
That sounds an amazing childhood! You paint an idyllic picture and I'm sure your family worked extremely hard for their community and tourist visitors.
I'm obsessed with all of Lori's quilts I'm dying to get her fabric and start some quilts, especially hometown and chicken salad it's hard to choose honestly. I hope I get to soon!
My mother in law and her mother made beautiful quilts which I've loved. When they passed it seems I lost my passion for quilting. Their quilts were all vintage. I am not a fan of the modern quilts. But when I discovered the world of Lori Holt it brings their memories back and my love of quilting too. I just want to make everything you've introduced to us! Thank you for your beautiful designs and for all the inspiration you have given me. Love seeing beautiful Reid. He has gotten so big!! ❤️❤️❤️

Oh my gosh. Such amazing fabric and patterns. The story behind all the fabrics and patterns makes me think of my family. Sewing clothes is what my mother did. I can't wait for Home Town, Bee Vintage. and Mercantile. The Home Town wide backs are gorgeous. I love your virtual quilt markets. I bought acrylic templates years and years ago to do a bouquet block....I never have used them.
I love how your red samplers have coordinating frames. Your “Bee” wall must be a large one and growing.😊

Lori, You always speak from the heart. I enjoy hearing you talk about your family, growing up and appreciating all the simple joys of life, it always reminds me of my grandmother and the relationship she and I had. What fun we are in store for! I watched this once while getting ggd's up & around for their last full dsy of school. Im now in my sewing room. I pickef up a baggie I didnt recognize...it was full of diamonds cut shapes...with 2 partial blocks.from my mil..either her or her mom's project from long ago. Of to work on a ufo from...me.:)

I'm starting with the Home Town boxed kit (with the yellow border).... then next is that FABULOUS Quilted Witch!!!! (the cross stitch too).... and the Mercantilel line is stunning! Never would have thought that in May of 2023 I'd be rushing for January 2024 to arrive? lol! But, yes.... fabulous! Thanks so much for creating so many happy and beeautiful pieces for us to get lost in ! Quilting really is better than therapy... lol!

Wow! You I commend you for working so hard. Thank you for giving us a view of 2024. I enjoy making your quilts where I can use one block for the entire quilt. I still consider myself a beginner. Making a quilt like that for me makes great progress and lots of practice. I finished the blossom🌸 block quilt. Now I just have to sandwich it and quilt it. Thank you🥰
