We will also be using the set of set of Bee Vintage Sew Simple Shapes
for each of the 20 applique blocks in the quilt.

I am so looking forward to this SAL. I have all my interfacing ready. Just have to get my fabrics ready. Also I make a folder for each block and put all the pieces in the folder so when I am ready to sew it's all in there for each block.

I like the clover tool. Here’s a few other things I use. Plastic crochet hook, paint brush ( the softness gets the smallest areas) and this tool called the purple thingy. I also double sew some pieces as well. Thank you for your lessons.

Thank you Lori! You are a wonderful teacher. I learn so much and also recall Home Ec class over fifty years ago. You also give us confidence to start our projects and to cut into our beautiful fabrics! I’m going to do this quilt first and then move onto my other Bee in My Bonnet quilt kits!
I learned this method from Eleanor Burns and the way we used visible interfacing is we had a nonstick ironing mat that we could press our shapes on before we pressed it to the background. This is so cute! Love your videos. Thanks for sharing.

I have just started Calico Garden.. which will be a challenge I know! However with your great tutorials I’m sure I can get there. And on the subject of interfacing, being overseas, I wasn’t sure I wanted to order more of yours. So I did an experiment with the package I had against what I could find in Australia . Yours is the BEST by a long way!!needless to say, I have ordered more from Amazon!

I love this applique, I'm going to change it to suit my granddaughters quilt, but I like how you do this. I'm going to make bigger blocks and put 3 on each block, in a cluster, so they wont be as centered as this. But n e way, love this video Thank You ;)
I am an old school hand turn appliqué quilter, I have not created a appliqué quilt in many years because of all time it takes to finish this technique is fabulous and I will definitely try this method soon. Thanks for sharing 😊

I ❤️❤️❤️ your pink featherweight it’s such a pretty pink! And the strawberry is absolutely cute! Instead of interfacing I use a very light cotton starched bc I don’t like my appliqués so stiff 😉

Hi Erin...yes I do have a great recommendation for you. One of my favorite places is called Gardner Village and it's located in West Jordan. Within the village is Pine Needles Quilt Shop which is amazing! Also within the village is a variety of other shopping all with a vintage vibe. Archibalds is one of my very favorite restraunts and is there in the village too. I hope you have time to go to Gardner Village...you will love it!💕

😊Good day all!! I had to think a moment on how I was going to organize this project! I decided on plastic page sleeves with paper taped on front that includes the shape number.I put all the sleeves in a binder in the order to be sewn. Traced & put interfacing & material in the plastic sleeve! It keeps it altogether! Hope this helps someone 😊 Thus is my 1st Appliqué!! 💕

After following your fabulousness since you started your channel I am now doing the Vintage Quilt. I'm up to the applique. I would like to machine quilt in a tiny zig zag. My question is whether to quilt with coordinating colours, or using a neutral beige colour thread throughout?

Hi Kathy...many Quilt Shops sell my Bee in my Bonnet Design Boards in all 4 of the sizes....you could do a quick google search to find some. I am aways doing new ones with my fabric collections so there are new ones becoming available on a regular basis. I hope this information helps out.

Hi Lori! First time joining your sew along…”Sauna Antonio Texas!” Today was only 101….plus humidity!!! Enjoying staying indoors sewing away! This sampler is just too cute, as everyone says. I know I’ll love it even though mine won’t be as perfect looking, but I’ll do my best! One question … Is there a right and wrong side to your interfacing? And I would also like to ask, which is your go-to method for appliqué, by machine or by hand? I would just like to know your favorite way. Really excited about this. I finished my first block! Question- I’m struggling a bit with the inner-facing showing on the edges on my shapes after I’ve turned and pressed. How do I prevent that from occurring? It makes me want to avoid appliqué. And I love your adorable projects.
Can you update your blog with the size of the background fabric? I don't really need to watch an entire video so having the final block size would be handy in blog. Thanks!
