I'm deeply sorry for not commenting on this past day, but I'd do have to say your videos are great, an amazing job of showing all of us a look at such a delightful piece of music played on the piano. I'm quite busy now but I'll try to like more videos if I can. Excellent job working on these videos!

Love this roll. Thanks for posting again. Incidentally I just saw the last part of The Shining on TV two nights ago! Personally I think it’s a lovely song apart from that association. I haven’t forgotten about transcribing some piano rolls-just have been busy with other things. I’m sure I’ll get around to some this winter at the least if not sooner. By the way, do you have any inclination to try this at a fast tempo (like what you usually do for your faster rolls)? I think it would be interesting to hear what it would sound like (though probably not preferable).
Funny you mention the tempo. I actually have thought of that. I mean why not? I've listened to it faster. I think it's enjoyable. Thanks for asking! Remind me, did you ask for any requests? I apologize if we talked about that. My disk space is getting low....
Also, as a side note, the tempo issue with my piano is the governor spring. It's weak. Or strong. It tends to play faster towards the end of a roll for some reason. For now, I'm just adjusting the tempo lever as needed. I don't wanna mess with the spring and damage it.
@@Skgwgaietto I have noticed the slow rushing effect you mentioned. I thought that it was due to stretching of the roll paper. I know little about player pianos but I do know some people who do. I may be able to get you in contact with them if you like.
@@Skgwgaietto Thanks so much! I didn’t make any requests. But I actually do have one now that you mention it. I’d be interested to compare the other versions of St Louis Blues that you have to the one you already posted - only if you have time. Cheers!
PLEASE tune the piano.
@followerofjulian1652 it is. But it's also 2024 now.
You were always the caretaker, Mr. Skgwgaietto.
Lol
That's great.
I was actually going to put something about "Mr. Torrance" in my description.
I never knew these rolls ever had lyrics printed on them, that's so cool!
One of my favorite songs! I listen to it often with Al Bowlley!

I have a few of these rolls and had no idea what they were for before watching this.
Many thanks for the repost!
I recently found out the Harry Leader version plays the verse, and it is sang in all its glory on the Maurice Elwin one!
So cool, I love seeing old tech like this.
