- 1st clinical rotation of med school finished! There were some very valuable but tough love lessons learned throughout the way, but overall such an incredible experience. These moments clinically are the memories that transform you into the physician you will become...and this is just the beginning of the ride for me. Hope you enjoy my little reflections about my OB/GYN rotation and bear with me as I take you through the rest of my clinical year :)

Man my med school OB/GYN rotation was exhausting but enjoyable! I assisted in C-section, fell asleep during the night shift, and helped with a spontaneous delivery! But it was enjoyable - and if I go into family medicine, I may yet have a doctor's rotation in OB/GYN ahead of me!
I totally agree about how good it feels going into your first rotation and the rush you feel when you are using your knowledge to treat everyday patients.. magical, it's the realisation that your dreams are becoming true

Best of luck man, it’s an easy rotation to enjoy with lots of situations you’ll never encounter again if you don’t specialize there

Hey bud, HIGHLY suggest thinking about radiology as a specialty. I have a feeling you’d like it if you enjoy anatomy, have good visuospatial working memory, and enjoy contextualizing a full patient clinical picture to make diagnoses and guide management in super impactful ways. Radiology has a super high impact on patient care, works closely with Drs in ALL specialties, and you’re home by 4pm, no weekends or holidays and can pursue your other hobbies and interests ;) I highly recommend an elective in rads if you get a chance. Always thought I’d be a surgeon, never happier that I matched rads :)
You should see if you can do 73 questions with a Surgical Technologist! I didn’t realize how much they do until I started going to school for it! Love your videos and I’m excited to see your future unfold.
I did OB a couple of months ago! I enjoyed it more than I thought. I just uploaded my vlog about my general surgery call shift, and I did not enjoy surgery. Lol.

I gave my ward ending exam of medicine a day before....it went ok ok...not that good....it was a new experience though...
Now my obs gyn rotation is starting tmrw...fingers crossed😇

you'll love it man, it's a really easy rotation to enjoy with pretty straight forward clinical decision making
If you do not have long fingers you will be at a disadvantage in examining Gyn patients.
