@@faitharmor5818 Milcz jak się nie znasz. Napoleon był wielkim cesarzem, nadzieją dla Polski. To rosja, prusy i austria nas zniewoliły.

@@simona.9366 The French, although it looks like they may have surrendered, definitely didn't in WW2. Many would go on to join the commandos or BEF and fight on for Britain, and some would join the Normandie Squadron in the USSR. Others would fight in Vichy France and sabotage the Germans and Italians in their homeland. Later on, a lot of Frenchmen would also land at D-Day, and we have to credit the French with making D-Day possible by gathering intel. So, all in all, the French get a very bad name for getting unlucky with the weather and their allies timing and being smart and 'surrendering', while they really didn't. The French fought on until the very end in WW2, and the French Resistance was recognised as an official military that DIDN'T SURRENDER in 1944 by the other powers. If anything, the French didn't surrender, and ultimately helped win the war.

In Fontainebleau he was forced to sign his abdication, and after Waterloo the government pressured him to abdicate once more. The Coalition then subsequently occupied Paris and dissolved the French empire on both occasions. France never surrendered in the Napoleonic wars

France became a role model and ideal example for the whole world. The courage and patriotism in the hearts of French people filled courage in thousands of other people. Napoleon Bonaparte was indeed a great leader although his role hasn't been that much signified in our history books as it should be. He was the once who rose on his own ability and set an example of perfect king. I'm proud of my history which starts with the significance of a great nation France which has resulted in all the facilities which we are enjoying today. May be if people of France hadn't stromed Bastille on 14th July may be we would still be unaware of many great principles like freedom and equality.

Rassure-moi , tu l'as lu le code ?

You cannot compare Napoléon to Hitler or Stalin. Napoléon was human. He could be moved to forgive his enemies. He did not go around killing anyone who opposed him or spoke up to him. It's amazing that he allowed Talleyrand and others to remain in office despite his suspicions. He never purged his officer corps. Moreau was allowed to leave. Republican generals weren't executed. He was a benevolent dictator who ruled in a civilized fashion.

Jacobo Matta Glad you liked it, I'm no Welshman or lover of Wales, but whenever that is playing at the rugby or football (they might play it at the upcoming Euro's) I have it on and its difficult not to well up when its being sung!
The Internationale is also a good piece that was the unofficial Soviet anthem before they changed to the present one, and it was originally written as another French socialist anthem like La Marseillaise, but with its now obvious communist relationship its fell by the way side sadly. The original lyrics to it as well are fantastic though maybe a bit flowery and idealistic. Great piece though so maybe look it out if you haven't heard it before.
Moving back onto La Marseillaise though, and the reason it brought me to this vid, as I was watching a doc about Beethoven's Fifth Symphony which is heavily about the French Revolution and it contains variations of tunes sung by those revolutionaries; but when this was played, I freely admit to having tears run down my face! So inspiring and if you were French you'd probably feel you could run through walls after listening to it!! :D

    • @louissigaud
      @louissigaud 5 ปีที่แล้ว

+TheConquistador When Napoleon was ruling Europe, he ordered The continental block, so no one could trade with England, mainly Portugal, its greatest ally. In this situation D. João VI, the king of Portugal travelled to Brazil protected by the british navy, which made Brazil become a country in the future. If it wasn't Napoleon, Brazil wouldn't be the same. (sorry for my english, it's not my native language)
