That really annoyed me -.- Apparently, the correlation between how much damage you have and how quickly the enemies die isn't as obvious as I'd thought.
I must extol the virtues of the Harvesting stat! This game is great in all of its options and builds, but I'd recommend you try stacking a bit of Harvesting early (it increases by 5% of its base every turn and you get mats based on how much of it you have).
It gets especially crazy on the Entrepreneur when you go all out on Harvesting. I've ended a run with over 4000 harvesting on them and let me tell you, that gets *wild*. Way more levels than Mutant ever gets but instead of being forced to scrimp and save like Mutant, you spend materials like water to get so many items where you can just delete the end fight.
@@gwonbusH My personal favourite is the Pacifist, where you just stack Palms and only go for harvesting and luck early to bankroll your way into all of the defences to outlast everything.
7:10 that little guy is like a loot goblin. They often drop chest for you to collect if you kill it but not always. Also there's an option to show health bar above your head in the setting if you'd prefer.
Tom! In later levels, when enemies get fast and red, they're being BUFFED by the sad-looking enemies with the light purple nodules all over their heads. Killing them doesn't remove the buffs they've already placed (to the best of my knowledge), but it does prevent them from buffing more enemies.
it's actually very advantageous to stand still in this game because you don't always want to pick things up, or pick them up at first. if you have extra leftover you get a x2 amount on next kills for that many things however if you continue to kill things letting the greens stack up they'll combine into larger sized drops meaning you're now getting more than just x2 and 10 seconds or so before the round ends pick all the extra sized drops up.
If you like an XP-based build, you should try out the Lucky character! It's neat because you start out with bad weapon stats, but you do craploads of damage to people whenever you pick up XP!
Man, I'd imagine doing content on a game like this simultaneously commentating must be really good for your brain, multitasking-wise and all. Quite impressive!
I know I'm a little late but if it helps he might be taking it all the time to get the shop and level up upgrades to be of higher quality and or rarity depending on how you look at it. At least thats what I gathered luck doing in my time playing the game and it can help with a few items that do random damage but he does seemed to mess woth those so thats why I said the other option.
Hey Tom, I found a vampire survivors like game called "Don't Shit On My #!$@& Roof" it looks kind of cool and has some pretty pixel art. Don't know if other people have suggested it or if you've seen it yourself, but I thought I would let you know. Have a great day :)
Oh and just to let you know there's some potatoes where they get certain weapons more often or there's a better chance for them to get like if you have the knight there's a better chance of you getting the swords and Spears
the mutant's xp buff doesn't actually do a lot if you're not HEAVILY investing into harvest because even tho you have a 200% xp gain, i've had several runs where the mutant ends 5-7 levels lower than other characters. a hot tip for maximizing your gains - don't always pick things up, or pick them up at first. if you have extra stuff leftover you get a x2 amount on next kills for that many things however if you continue to kill things letting the greens stack up they'll combine into larger sized drops meaning you're now getting more than just x2 and 10 seconds or so before the round ends pick it all up.

Because of how life steal works (% chance to steal 1 life), smg is the only choice. faster hits each with % to steal 1. Fire a laser 1 per second? 8% chance for 1 hp per second. Bleh. Fire an smg 6 times a second at 8% per shot? 50% chance of 1 hp per second. Six smgs would be 3 hp per second avg, more with faster attack speed and life steal. Also, smg starts at 1 dmg, so adding 1 ranged dmg doubles damage immediately. Adding 10 ranged damage over the course of the game means 10*6 attacks per second*number of smgs.
SMGs currently start at 3 damage with 50% Ranged damage scaling, both of which increases the higher level the SMG is. The laser, while slow, is a big hit that scales with 200% ranged damage, more for higher levels. As such, ranged damage provides similar DPS between the two extremes of the weapons, though SMGs can use it better on account of less wasted damage.

I dont know why Tom has aversion to crits. I noticed this in all games he plays. Crit chance and damage is the first stat I go for in games like this. Crits being unreliable is just not true when there are so many instances of dealing damage. Its just flat damage increase
Tom combine your guns and this game hurts you for standing still, you lose out on extra benefits like the 2x XP and you miss out on tree spawns. Also look at the abilities it tells you where they cap out
i did everything on danger 5 105% slingshot is very good, and multitasker is my favorite potato. engineering i had the most fun with... both the engineer and elemental damage turret spam to spawn kill things is great. you need basically perfect RNG if you want to beat Danger 5 187% tho and i'm not that patient.
There is a limit of how much material can be on the screen at one time, so if you camp and don't pick up stuff, you will loose out on a lot of material that COULD be spawning ♥
69% dodge... which caps at 60%, aww yeahh. Great game and good run, though. The Pacifist is a lot of fun to build with speed and dodge, or massive regen, then boost the harvesting stat all the way.
@@shawer12345 huh, indeed there is. fucked if I know why, though, none of the items he has do it afaik and the base for that character isnt any different. he has it at 4:47 too with only the fertilizer item, so maybe a previous build of the game or something.
What is with your obsession with luck? Did you know you don't need luck if you have skill? Furthermore you don't need skill if you do enough damage to end everything on the screen. Stop with the luck bit already! 😑
Tom your use of gender neutral pronouns instead of calling everything "he" is so appreciated. It's like the icing on the cake of you being my favourite youtuber, for realsies. Many loves ❤❤
