Did you notice how all of them fight against each other but the two chen's are playing chess against each other? and only two knights end up standing, as if they are controlling the others
Normally, the ones who plays chess are the tacticians, moving resources and people to.correct positions in war, usually they are the generals. Knights in chess are the game-changer, most of the time, as long as you still have the knight, you can still win even if most of your peices are gone. it has an absurd way of moving in an L-pattern and bypass all normal enemies and allies alike. Notice also, the knight has L-pattern movement, L... EXO-L? No mattter x-exø or exø, the game changer is the L in both sides, whether its the fans, or L for love, which they exlerienced on earth and was implied on their many MVs in the past.

I want to say something: I'm proud of Sehun singing with Chen also Chanyeol singing with Chen this is a great honour for thembecause we all know Chen is amazing, unreal so I hope SM will give equal opportunity to all of them from now on. After watching the mv multiple times.... Here's my theory:
EXO are not actually cloned but have 2 sides to them like Jekyll & Hyde and the Red force are trying to bring out their Hyde side to take control of them. I thought of this when Sehun shot the arrow at X-EXO Sehun but EXO Sehun got hit instead.
Maybe EXO are fighting their Hyde side psychologically but the effects of their fight or struggle is being reflected in the real world (ie Chanyeol fighting with his powers) which is causing the world to actually burn & be destroyed. However they seem to be at a stalemate because both sides believe that they are the original so they're telling the other side to stop sneaking in & obsessing over them. That the other side needs to shut up and disappear.
And with the scene of person rising up, it might be Suho who has been knocked out by X-Suho with his powers of water. Like maybe Chanyeol's fight with X-Chanyeol caused global destruction which caused Suho/X-Suho to be encased in ash turning him into stone after he was submerged in water by X-Suho & then brought out (y'know like those ruins of ancient cities or stuff that has been found underwater decades later) but my imagination might just be running wild 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️

It would make sense, if there wasn’t the teaser picture that said there was a second type of entities walking around that look like EXO (the teaser that look like a report - heat signature) meaning there is physical, evil clones of EXO going around

I do think that since they are fighting their other side there could be days that the X-side has control and so that could be what people think are their clones but idek anymore.
They are fighting themselves... That's why Sehun is getting shot by the arrows he throws at the bad version of "himself"... Baekyoun is fighting his dark side in front of red force monsters... Everyone is trying to fight back their dark side which is trying to pull them over... So, basically, the red force is trying to take them over using their dark side... The lyrics are also very meaningful I think... plus one of their songs in this album is called Jekyll... (and Hide) it can't be more obvious than that.

I have a theory about Suho and X-Suho! Doesn't the room where Suho is like the interior of the paintings? Blue, looking like its underwater? And the scene with the destroyed building that had you confuse, isn't that underwater? All blue, and someone floating (just like Suho is in most of his scene!). I think that X-Suho might have use is power to trap or render useless Suho! And the first statue Suho, for me, is clearly X-Suho, while the one that is breaking look like normal Suho.Also, for Kai and X-Kai the two of them get into this weird world--- it's an invert colored world (green become orange, etc.) could that be the world in between? The kai on the moto, that you thought was X-Kai is actually normal Kai (he wore the same jacket than him).... Are they actually fighting both in the normal world and the the world in between (invert colours)More, did you notice that Chen and X-Chen are in a room where they can keep an eye on the rest (surveillance screen?) just like in Lucky one? where we see at some point Chen in front of a screen? I don't know what to make of it but still worth noting, i think :)Last, Chanyeol is the only one seen using his power properly to fight is clone! And also, he seem to have a leading role in the video too! At the end, its seem more like the planet burning away... Ano Nymu I honestly have no idea what’s going on since I’m new to this storyline of EXO but I did think at one point that one of the members seemed be accepting the evil side? Idk it just seemed that way.. this is very exciting for me. Only wish someone had an explanation video or theory video I could watch about the entire storyline because watching the theories for each MV, I’d forget what was said in each as I keep watching! The storyline is there is a good EXO and a bad EXO (called X EXO). This video is the good and bad version of each person fighting themselves. The bad versions are the ones in leather and crop tops lol. They are fighting them using their respective powers. I think the bad ones win because that’s the EXO planet burning at the end. So I’m guessing this it’s then transforming into a different EXO and from now on that’s the ones we will see.
Not sure if I’m correct but I’ve read this in several places!
Also, I saw several people saying that X-EXO wasn’t real and physical separate entities BUT, one of the teaser picture that look like a report(heat signatures) is saying that they saw entities similar to EXO but exuding red energy walking around (it means they know that EXO exist, for one, and that there are separate, physical, clones walking around)

Ok, my thoughts... Bear with me, I've been up all night, haven't slept yet!
I can't remember exactly but Suho... When normal Suho is in the art room the paintings on the wall show underwater scenes. When it's X-Suho, it shows ocean scenes with sky. The scene where you said Suho is "rising up" I actually think is set underwater - emphasising that real Suho is essentially trapped. Trapped by X-Suho.
Again, the others are essentially either fighting and/or being trapped/caught by their X-selves.
I had thought the song was referring to possession - the mental kind. Real EXO are essentially trapped inside their minds while X-EXO is controlling their bodies. Or that they have actually been physically caught/trapped by X-EXO.
At the end of the song, in the choreo, real EXO does a move like snapping their necks - the scene instantly changes to X-EXO being the "last man standing". We then get the shot of the burning planet. Does this indicate X-EXO has won?
So this will be my first comeback with exo. I still have some members to learn but when I say I literally paused the video 24 seconds in😂😂 baekhyun beautiful ass started off the song shook me, then Sehun’s verse was 🔥🔥 he came in ready to eat 👏🏾👏🏾

Oh!! Oh I noticed something when I was watching this again!! So at 35:42 it’s normal EXO right? Because they’re all in black and have normal hair and not cantacts. BUT when they snap their neck it transitions to X-EXO. That could mean that was the final moment they lost, that’s when X-EXO fully took over. Cause them snapping their neck is like all of them losing the final battle; all of them being killed or beat, so then it transitions to X-EXO because now they’ve won, they’ve taken over.
I've watched this MV so many times, maybe more than 100 times :)))))))))))))))))))) so my fav part is when Sehun is sitting on that chair waiting for good Sehun to shoot him but the arrows turning back to his chest, that scenary reminds me of a movie it's really very well expressed by himself. Sehun has very interesting facial expressions: he can be a devil, bad boy, spy, killer, good boy, clone, prince etc
All of them are amazing, but his part impressed me most

I'm STANNING DEMONS AND I’M OKAY WITH IT!!! They killed everything with this superior concept! I love the deeper meaning to it as well: fighting yourself and your demons etc. Seeing actual fighting scenes made it even more epic and what added to it was the effects! You could feel the demoniac side of them through the screen! The makeup was terrific, the accessories and the outfits so Avant-Garde! While the visual aspect is so strong and powerful the song had more of a sly approach which was unexpected but so welcomed because I love the RnB side of them! The raps were killer and those high notes breathtaking! This is definitely one the best release of this year for sure and one of their best comebacks ever!

Honestly, this dance is so cool. starting with Channie rising up from the floor and the rest of the guys surrounding him, circling around him. Can we please discuss this man's rap skills? One of the most complex verses from him in a while.
SEHUN is no longer the cute MAKNAE; his hair is black like CHEN'S is, just in a more elegant style. Speaking about his rap for a moment: It's the most I personally have heard the youngest rap, and I am so pleased with it. It provides a great contrast with CHANYEOL's.
SUHO went FULL Magical DADDY mode; his bright red hair does wonders for him. His suit reminded me of KAI's ICONIC red one from Love Shot.
CHEN was a vocal powerhouse; along with having curly hair, which is personally my favorite look on him.
KAI was/still is a shirtless dancing devil; his teal hair, along with his outfits definitely suits him well.
BAEKHYUN looks and sounds immaculate here.

They are not practicing. Baek is fighting X-Baek. In the video at 00:23, you see Baek put the mask on and they walk toward each other. The whole video, I believe these are individual battles or confrontations with the clones. LOL nevermind, you figured it out by the end. About the Kai scene you said looked really funny, I agree it did, but I figured that was the space between worlds, like when he teleports. Or, since he is kinda the bull in the bullfight that's kinda happening, maybe X-Kai used that red "matador cape" to teleport Kai to a dimension he couldn't escape from. LIke if EXO Kai was close enough to it, maybe X-Kai can potention use teleportation a different way than what Kai has been using it. IDK....it just seemed like something usually only Kai gets to see due to his power.

It seemed to me that X-Suho was holding Suho captive that is why we don't see them fighting..and the weird coloring of Kai and X-Kai seemed like they were in a paralel universe or something cause there is already a theory about Kai being able to go to paralel worlds as a result of his power.. also Kai and X-Kai not directly fighting might be related to the teaser photos showing both versions being the bearer of the flag.. The kai fighting scene is like bull fighting, normal kai is the bull on the motorcycle. Their colorscheme is probably because they're teleporting across planets while fighting
For suho, i think since everyone is fighting using their powers, and x suho makes a choking move, that probably x suho's choking is actually choking real suho underwater since you see a lot of tension in his neck? It also makes sense that you turn into stone if you are completely dried out.

My thought about weird coloured blond KAI, is that maybe that’s the colouring of a limbo world. Like in the X-Men universe, the one character teleports through time and space. But she does it by going to a limbo world and then crossing over to the place that she wants to wind up at. An inter dimensional world where time stops.
That’s my guess about why KAI had the photo negative colouring. He’s in the midst of teleporting.

This MV changes the way I think with this particular Comeback... I now think these X-EXO are not Clones but EXO themselves or their evil side and it seems like their fighting themselves. I mean look at EXO Sehun shooting an arrow at X-EXO Sehun but EXO Sehun was the one that receive the shot he himself shot. Also if you look at those people who have red cracks on their faces all of them are X-EXO except one which is EXO CHANYEOL.
The song is growing on me but the MV blew me away and I think it distracts me from the song 😂 kokobop (ko ko bop?) was the same, video threw me off and I didn’t get into the song until months later after another listen. That video still confuses the shit outta me tho. Right now, MV is better than the song but as I said, it’s absolutely growing on me and I plan to listen without the MV. This was so exciting cuz I was up at 4am when it dropped. Edit: after reading (and replying to a couple) comments, what I was thinking seems to be what many have come to the conclusion and that is that they’re fighting themselves, like it’s not that there are clones of themselves but just their dark side they’re trying to fight off and whatnot.. oh my I love this so much. This is the one song and concept I’ve seen and understood from EXO that is relatable as fuck.. oh I’m too excited. I’m still getting into them obviously and love a handful of their songs but this album may be the one for me. As of yet tho, no other song from them so far takes first place for me as Monster does. It’s my fave but this one may be in my top 3 because of the dark concept and understanding the lyrics better just help me personally love the song (I’m all about lyrics honestly). So I personally don't think that x-exo are clones . I think that exo are fighting within themselves. They are fighting with the bad side within themselves. That's also why sehun would hurt himself while shooting at x-exo sehun ....bc it is also him ,just his bad self . Also the planet at the end represents them as a person and the burning is the bad side ( x-exo ) taking over . So they turned bad bc they lost the fight ....

Okay, so I have a lot to say, hope you guys can read it. First of all, it was Suho (the normal one) floating at 31:44, and I would guess it's water. At 34:26, if you look at the ceiling, it looks like the same water in which Suho is floating. Also, doesn't this scene (just this scene) look like the one Taemin's teaser for SuperM, where the ceiling of his room showed the falling crushed cars that were raining over Kai??? If you get what I mean??
