1 day they're doing the jobs. Then you're helping them. Before you know it they're helping you and then you're doing the jobs for them! Savour every moment!
Brilliant as always Scott, and lovely to see you working with your Dad. I lost my Dad a couple of years ago and not a day goes by where I don't think about him and miss him like crazy. Cherish these days Scott because when they are gone all we have left is our memories!!! 👍
There are 2 types of Bosch 5 pin relays. Bless your dad Scott, my dad turns 70 in August and he still races around in an RS3 Saloon! What a guy! I always get sad realising I have less time with him than that is behind us. Family is everything indeed.
I have been following your channel for a few years now. Always fascinating and enjoyable. Keep up the good work. Great to see your dad taking part. Looking forward to the next episode
Lost my Dad a little over a year ago, so treasure your time. He got me into this mess called sports cars, and was my partner in crime to the end! Miss him every day.
Excellent video again. Brought back lots of lovely memories I have with my Dad too. In fact, we had a spookily similar experience when I picked up my first Ferrari - a silver 308GT4! Dad followed me back with some spares that came with the car and when we got home the very same hose had split under the carburettors! I was also lucky to have worked with my Dad and share a love of cars and trucks. He was my best mate until I lost him two and a half years ago but I'm very lucky to have loads of great memories with him.
I haven't spoke to my dad for 4 years, he is a narcissistic evil man. You are so lucky to have a great man as your dad, I'm so envious of people who have lovely, supportive parents that would do anything for their children. Hope you've give your dad one of your many Ferraris? He deserves one....a reliable one if that exists?
Can't lie, I've thought about how strange you must look to the neighbours working on your cars in the driveway talking away to to your invisible audience (yourself/your phone). Your dad answering for us cracked me up!
Great you spent time together……… wish I could have had a little bit more time with my old man. Time is precious good video nice when things go your way!!!!!🧠💪💕💯.🙏
Excellent job! Well done to you and your dad for finally fixing your troublesome pop-ups! This car will not get the best of you, so keep at it and it will soon be back on the road and driving like a dream 🙂
Gutted to hear about the break in, that has got to hurt but you will be just fine i'm sure. Like the new addition to the channel, he seems like a great bloke.
Hi Scott hope your well my friend. I know you have had a few horrible problems lately with the house, then getting broken into and having your tools and kit stolen. Some people are just scumbags.. anyway buddy are going to be getting back into putting out more videos on a more regular basis. I keep seeing on your TH-cam saying. A new video, but it still seems to be the one with your dad. So just wondering if your going to do more soon, I'm sure there are lots of things going on in the background, after having the problems. Hope all is good and hope to see more stuff soon. Kind regards Bob Rose Northampton.
So awesome to see working with Dad I believe your water pump is the reason why that belt stopped and why that belt burned it was not the other way around the belt did not hurt water pump The water pump stopped the belt. And of course I've never owned or worked on a Ferrari so maybe I'm wrong but in most cases like this the water pump is the reason for the belt failure not the other way around. And my little town here in my state I walked outside of the Costco during this powder blue Ferrari sitting there in the parking lot and I had that gone in 60 seconds. The only way I'm going to ever drive a Ferrari is if I steal it and I thought of myself oh my goodness and I thought well maybe I'll wait for the owner to come on out and at least have a cold start and I did that that was it doesn't start it just it took off like a jet plane yeah
Great video. From the thumbnail I watched expecting to find “Dad” was help from Jack @ #27 - not your actual “Dad” 🤣🤦♂️!!! What a nice guy, and must be so nice for him to appear with you and support your Ferrari adventures/headaches - nice one Scott 👍
@@Ratarossa 🤣! From the thumbnail viewed on my phone I thought it was Jack - figured you were brainstorming together over shared 308 headaches and knew you’d collaborated in a vid together before (which was excellent btw). I’m a keen 44teeth fan and Chris and Fagan regularly refer to Chopsy (Lamb Chop Rides) as their Dad, so I thought that was your banner! It was great to find it was your actual Dad though. Thanks again for all the great content you put out - it can’t be easy to do and we all really appreciate it. Can’t wait to get on to the F40 build and see a finished BB 🤩🥳
Thats a fuel filler neck valve to stop anyone placing a diesel nozzle in its sized for petrol and its not the first Mercedes part ive seen on a Ferrari either
When it comes to relays on old Italian cars it’s confusing because other than a few obvious parameters replacing a relay with another one of the exact same type can result in headaches that don’t make sense. Is it electronic back flow from the coil? Is it because the old relays are encased in metal and new ones in plastic? I’ve never understood how replacing a relay with one that’s rated same and configured the same (everything is same!) can be so challenging?
The grey 308 is beautiful. Question: when you run the car after the water pump replacement, I assume you had already done the cam belts, right? Because you have to remove that coolant pipe to install the belts and it wouldn't make any sense to drain and refill the coolant system. Looking forward to that video, as I just finished that job on my Mondial.
Not yet buddy, I topped up the coolant as didnt drain the whole system. Belts have now been done and yes I did have to remove the pipe once again to do that
I think they are fantastic and have some great features. I'm guessing with the plates because they are reflective it interferes with the views ? Mine certainly picked up the plates at night around my unit when i panned around
Just interact with your dad, and talk to the camera. If he answers when you're talking to the camera, so what. That's what makes good memories and content is just a bonus.
Ahhh yes very true, that lock is used on everything from BBi to F40 .... but is it Mercedes or do they both use the same lock brand. Theres no Merc lock on the lock ?
Man that was funny I am a carpenter and when I worked with my dad it always was funny working with him give that 308 to your dad greeting from Holland 🇳🇱
Clean every relay inside, polish contacts with wet n dry, redo dodgy looking solder joints. Better than dodgy new ones you get today! Worn or hard seal let water into the bearing. A new bearing for £5 is all the pump needs. Don't throw the original Ferrari pump it is a work of art. Save the genuine old water pump. It is your pension fund. Genuine Ferrari will soo be worth more than a repro. 2 days spent cleaning all relays, all blade connectors and fuses, bulbs and sockets (replace dodgy black bulbs etc), clean inside switches, oil door locks and hinges, replace all hoses, water, fuel, brake. Clean windows inside and out. Take seats out for space, and clean them out of the car. Your barn find is transformed! Do this before you start any repair work! Saves literally days of fault finding!

He's one cool cat in his RS3. Happy 70th to your dad this month
Love it. Spend as much time with your dad as you can. They are a treasure that we never back.
Cmon Scott more content please !
Everything went right. Your dad is the bringer of good fortune.

Are you OK Scott. It's all gone very quiet.

Poor Dad, just isnt used to the narration. LOL Thats OK Dad, great to have you there!

This is definitely the best video ever with your dad - there is nothing better than spending time on a project you both love with your dad ❤

Great video Scott,,, and your Dad made it better 😊,,,, the right side of a car is looking forward from the rear, lol,
Great video really enjoyed the working with your dad. I can say it’s so much more fun when my son is available to help out on our content.
Nice work Buddy. Great to see your old man getting in the spirit of things. My dad never gave a shit about anything I did.

So nice to see dad. :-)
Gear content Scott. Worth the wait
Glad you made some progress on that car
There is a V12 F40 recreation from original tub listed on Silverstone Auctions Competition cars upcoming August auction.Have a look Scott.
Fixed my 308 headlights with Porsche 924 relays, worked a treat!
The door latches and striker plates are of a mercedes 107 sl , also I think parts of the pop up lights are porsche 914.
Love to see a second channel with full builds like Mat's mk2
Ive considered doing that and more behind the scenes when I start the F40 rebuild
So neat Watchung you and your Dad work together. My Dad died in 1977. I was 11. 😢
sorry to hear that buddy. I dont get to see Dad enough and i'm very blessed to be able to do this video with him.
I’m actually more relieved you cornered the electrical pop ups than if it were my car. LoL. Keep’em moving. 👍
Excellent maniacal laughter !
Ford Probes used to have same headlight issues. Typically a short somewhere.
I would say.. always film with your dad!! Just let him talk and go into camera.. that makes it even more awsome content and makes it more fun! 😃
A good example of the Tree and the Apple working together 👍
Nice vid. Keep making these very simple vids. Might be less stressful for you. We can wait for projects to be completed. You’re the entertainment.
I really like these videos too.

Ferrari has used Mercedes door closing locks...not the key lock but the one that secures a door to body 😊

Why keep those old relays installed? Are not generic new relays compatible (either 4 pin o 5 pin)? Old as they are they may fail any moment
Partly agree, with cars like this retaining as much originality as possible is quite important
More films with Papa… we like him!!!
You know when its difficult time when you have to ask for help to your dad 😂❤
desperate measures LOL
Maybe dad is good luck for you!
Ratadad, you rock.
