Can you tell me are the water colors chalky when they dry. I’ve got the ones from $ tree and they are chalky. I’m looking for water colors that are not chalky.

No they’re not chalky at all! They are better than a lot of other kits that are more expensive! I reach for them all the time! And I just checked and they’re on sale right now on Amazon 💗 (linked in the description)
