I've played this game four times now and never done the grim fight untill my recent durge run. To be honest I was so scared of it and after beating it now I know that was a big mistake. The adamantine armours are so good and can provide you for almost the entire game! Great video btw. I'll definitely use this strategy for my next run.
Thank you very much for the video. I was running away from this fight because I thought I would die in my honor run. Thanks to you, I was able to pass.
so this helped me by realizing what Gryms legendary action was, which was to have more movement speed, which now made sense why i couldn't line up grym under the forge so i just beat him to death with my lv 6 monk, so thank you nice vid
Just did this strat but had shadowheart cast spiritual weapon!! It worked so well the whole fight probably took me 30 minutes. It’s my first honour run attempt and I really wanted the armor and XP but I was too scared to try this fight, you saved me!
Genius strategy. I might try this next time I'm at the Grymforge. Edit: Tried it and it worked great. I might do it this way from now on after already doing it the hard way without the hammer.
Bro, thanks for the video Check this out last night I came up with this exact idea, myself of trying the minor illusion to lure the grim in after attempting the grim Forge honor for the first time. It was quite a bit harder than on regular mode. I’m glad to see that I was on the right track and you may think these spelled out for me thank you, bro U got a subscriber .
On Honor mode it's so good. Really was afraid of this fight. But, this video really helped, thx. And it's make sense from RP perspective, you know that there should be guardian, so being safe is logical move.
@@jerrywhat4799 Lol, to find the forge you have to find three pieces and there are information that there is a guardian, so starting forge from distance, is not out of range of sensible approach. Now if you did not do three drows and did not get full information about the forge I would agree with you. But, if you know there is a guardian plus there is lava all around, who know if it's work properly. If you are RP, and your character know if he dies he dies, there are no reason not to be cautious.
Yeah, that's what I did recently on an honor mode run, got a hireling druid and made him an enlarged owlbear who could barely even fit on the broken staircase. The problem with these cheese methods is that they're rarely going to work the first time you try them since this is such a gimmicky and unforgiving fight. I had to try the owlbear strat three times before I figured out how to get it to work (had to kill my game and restart the fight -- I got the golden dice several playthroughs back so really don't care about honor, just want the added boss mechanics -- I wish they would allow you to select the new mechanics on custom difficulty).
@@damiku-8866 I wouldn’t recommend doing it for the first time on your honor run. I did it on tactician first and took me a few tries to figure out the jump angle. Now I’ve done it on the first try on my last 3 honor runs.
@@dragondrakage2402I did it after patch 6 and it worked fine, once I was able to land right next to him. My enlarged owlbear did about 750 damage. Make sure you’re using the the right action (Crushing Flight, I think).
If you cast enhance leap on the Owlbear, combined with the boots that give 1,5meters more jump distance, respec and include athletics as feat you don't need any bait, you just jum at him from the middle cliff right to where he spawns. Also i used Lazael to shoot the Valve from the middle then jump up to the cliff also with enhanced leap, so Grym dies all alone, crushed by my chubby Karlach Owlbear.
I agree it's a poorly designed fight, especially on Honor Mode. It's stress without excitement. I get that he is supposed to be this impervious mofo, but IMO superheating should have more of a pronounced effect
Thanks for this video! I am assuming you can forge the second item no problem? Can you just swap out the components and go invisible while you minor illusion etc?
Yes you can forge second item no problem. So I had done it that way once, go invisible, make item escape. Unfortunately the game bugged out and Grym killed me, so I dont do that anymore.
@@zalzeera great! Working through underdark on my first honor mode playthrough. Should i leave the whole party at camp while i do this ? Can i do it as a sorc ?
"Never wanted the easy path..."
"...but I love the cheesy path."

Can't thank you enough. Found this video just before my Honour run. Very good strategy.
Thank you so much for your kind comment. Really glad to know you liked it. I am on a break right now, because I am moving, hoping to restart soon.
Brutal!!! I did it, it works!! Thank you very much!!

Found this video after Grym TPK'd me and I lost my honor mode. Will definetely try this strategy next time!
It worked!!
Lmao same dude
I feel your pain...he ended my honour mode as well...

Thats about as fool-proof as it gets. Nice vid!
Thank you. Much appreciated.
Bro, thank you for this. It really made it easy for me. Good looking out, man.
You absolute beauty. This still works and helped me get past him. His legendary action is annoying.
Aaah, thank you, man. This is such a stress-free strategy for once.
Tutorials from Indian people never let you down. God bless you, sir, you saved another desperate soul here (:
Found this vid after 20+ honour runs, I'll try it in my next one. Thanks!

“It makes sense from three RP perspective” Whatever you have tell yourself. 😂
Cope harder with the RP perspective BS

@Mikle_Silver yeah so your character would be looking to cheese the guardian in such a way eh? Just stop lol
Thanks this saved my honor mode!
Owl bear from the top rope is the easiest grym strategy!

ZalZeera, it worked wonderfully😊 Thanks for sharing
My goofy ahh just used gust of wind with my invisible duegar
Intro calling me out 😂
Haha, genuinely didn’t intend that. I thought it sounded more like acerola. Another youtuber, really like him.
This saved my honor run
Bro! Going to do this! Thanks so much!
I used the scale male armour from this fight for the entire rest of my campaign, on Tav but also it can be used on Shadowheart as well
Crit immunity is very very nice to have.

Beat him legit with a 7th level party on honour mode, it was a close one, though.
Gonna do this Karlach throwing up there 😂
Are you from Wisconsin?
All this cheese!!! Hahaha
Thanks for another great strategy.
I wish lol. I just think sometimes ones gotta slug it out with a big robot and sometimes ones gotta pew pew from a distance.
brilliant

Needed a second person to kill the mephits
another way was using spirit guardian and sanctuary and he'll just follow it around
Bullying poor Grym is kind of mean 🤣
Poor guy was just sleeping I agree. Need that exp and sick loot though.
Penne, cavatappi, pipe rigate, or standard macaroni?
Does this still work ?
Yeah I did it on my warlock run.

Lameeee
doesn't work. as soon as he look at the illusion, it goes away, with or without success. doesn't matter.
