i could not appreciate costumes until chuck showed us his. i could not understand the appreciation, i see it from a new view now and its very nice😅🤷♀️
Very kool belt!! Because of Chuck, I've decided to dip myself into, LARP projects, IE, fantasy/ sci-fi projects... Thanks for great vid!! As always, Chuck is a definite asset to Weaver !! I'm sure everyone agrees!! Being an newbie, his vids have helped me tremendously, with the tutorials and mental mind set to know, hey I can really do this!! Lol
Love seeing Chuck garb up. Awesome belt. and timely too. I am planning on making a version of this belt for my female dwarven fighter cosplay. But I want to cheat and have some flex hidden under a large leather circle center. :)
Thank you Chuck, always great to watch your channel. I wanted to give a tip, I cut the heads off my used dobbers and use the wire to dip and hang my dyed pieces. 👍🏻
Perfect timing on this video, I will be making a 2 strap belt very soon for my pirate garb and this gave me some great tips. I had no idea you were into costuming Chuck. Very happy to see videos on making costume pieces. Please keep them coming!
Nice tip about sizing the belt for the function it is intended, in this case wear the clothing/costume the belt is intended to be used with. Thanks for sharing.
Your enthusiasm is genuinely contagious. Thanks for another great video. Any chance of taking a look at Fallout Vault dweller leather holsters and armor? The show was such a huge success that there’s bound to be a lot of people trying to make the outfit and accompanying leather items.
Well Chuck, you’ve outdone yourself once again! It’s a beautiful double belt. I’m just a little dismayed that you had a perfect field for tooling and you let the opportunity slip by. I’m not up to date on era customs so maybe you can enlighten me. In those days did they add any tooling to their leatherwork? Best regards, Richard
With things like this, I've found that the end result looks better if you go with a darker (or just a different) dye for the inner piece than the outer straps. It adds a bit of depth, and the best look, to me anyway, for a brown dye is to use a darker brown behind it. It adds a lot more depth and interest to the end without really adding other actual colors.
9:46 - I can think of two usages first is somewhat obvious - if You need to make a cut for the sam browne button - fill the hole with that little sucker beforehand to avoid overcutting the split. Then... if you collect more of them make a soft leather baggy, that filled with the punchcorcks may act as a wristrest while working on a computer.
probably a stupid question, but could you leave the dye in the container and put a lid on it? like if you use one of those containers with the snap lid to keep it air tight and sealed. then you can make a container for each dye color and have it on hand and ready for when you need them. or would it affect the dye by leaving them in the container instead of pouring them back in the bottle
Hi Chuck have a question, If I am going to seal inside and the outside of a leather water canteen with bee's wax, can I dye the project if so how much will the dyed colors change or not change. Thank You!!
The main reason is to avoid bubbles. The leather is fully coated in leather balm, it's a little hard to see in the video. Whatever works best for you though is what what you should go with!

I loved this: thank you.
And the presenter is great.
Nice belt 😊❤❤❤. Thank you.
My favourite belt. Thanks so much for such detailed description, Chuck. Appreciative newbie.

Thank you, Chuck, for another excellent tutorial!
Makes a good holster belt

I’m subscribed to 200+ channels on TH-cam; this the only one where I ‘like’ click the video before the intro music has even finished.
Thank you so much!

The second example is good. I had a plan to made a suede pin cushion for a couple of textile crafter friends.
How would i find a period costume shirt like that? I love the look and it would be perfect for a Renaissance faire I'm thinking of attending!
This one is from a company called C A S Iberia.

As long as the lid is leak proof then, yes, absolutely!

WAR BELT! Yeeeeeesssss!❤
Could you guys do a leather glove tutorial?
Thanks for the video
Looks Awesome Chuck!!!!!
Why so sparing with the leather balm? I’ve found that you need to wet out the leather with leather balm to get a really good consistent finish.

I have my leather work .can I send you photo..?
