When I heard that 90% of the EN managers are not Japanese and they are required to be fluent in Japanese, it was like a breath of fresh air. With all the trouble other companies have had with management, It's good to know that Hololive is Managing EN in the best capacity they have.

Not being able to slurp is not a big deal now. The one they are offended by the most as of current is taking "too much" time on the food doing selfies or just taking photo of the food
I think it's not really about the slurping, but slurping helps to eat faster and that's a big thing in Japan. Lots of people on a small area, big eating out culture, so restaurants have a much bigger focus on serving lots of people per hour then we do in the west and since it's a very respectful collective society, the customers accommodate for that. For example, keep sitting at the table after finishing your meal and talking while eating are also not part of the culture because both result in you eating slower and therefore lowering the number of people served per hour. Of course, these are not hard rules and you also need to 空気読み (read the air). It's a totally different thing in an Ichiran during lunch break compared to an Izakaya in the evening.
Some of them even double as babysitters or just get dragged around to karaoke and other places cause a talent is bored/shy. I wish we got like an EN version of Nodoka doing interviews with managers occasionally. Love how funny some can be

I had assumed that most of the EN managers were still Japanese. It's interesting to hear that the vast majority are not. It sounded like a requirement of the job is to live in Japan (so you can report to Cover Corp HQ regularly), so I guess they just picked up a bunch of foreigners that were hanging around the greater Tokyo metropolitan area -- which, although qualified foreigners are a pretty rare spawn in Japan, when you're talking about the world's largest city, even a 0.01% occurrence ie still many thousands of people.
there actually quite lots of talented european who studied in Japan, graduate there and cant get english teaching job coz they arent from native english speaking and they despite speak fluent japanse maybe prefer to work in a more flexible work environment with foreign talent like in holoEN compare to work in traditional japanese company

Funny how some people all talk about lore and powerscaling, then conveniently leave out the fact that there's an organisation that takes in criminals, aliens, robots, eldritch and abnormal creatures, an entire council of goddesses, and more recently, a superhero team. If I've watched enough anime, these mane-sans are far more powerful that we realise, and Yagoo exceeds even that! I mean, these guys are rarely around, (besides A-Chan and Nodoka) and Omega is just straight up mythical.

I think it's important to distinguish between the talent managers and the corporate managers, simply because SOMEBODY at that company is screwing up royally, but I don't think it's the lower level management.

It's not fair to blame the staff on this, this is not the same situation like with Chloe Sakamata where her manager refused to let her rest and kept begging her to do a recording even tho she said she was sick.
