Malaysia has one of the best food in the world! The cuisine is a blend of Malay, Chinese, Indian, as well as fusion cuisines such as Baba Nyonya, or Peranakan. I just finished my 3 weeks solo travelling in Singapore and Malaysia, and absolutely love it! Especially the food. I am amazed with wonderful cultural diversity in Malaysia ❤ Btw, I like your filming style. Natural and lovely. I wish one day I have more confidence to talk on camera. Kuantan….my family favorite holiday destination. You need to spend a few days in Kuantan City preferably along ‘Jalan Besar’. Few hotels there and there are more night activities there. There is also Teluk Cempedak beach in Kuantan. I believe you are now staying at Pantai Balok (TimurBay possibly).

Other than curry as gravy to dip your roti canai, you can also try dhal with a spoonful of sambal for extra chilli kick as your roti canai gravy dip. And if there is in the menu roti sarang burung (literally means roti bird nest), you should try it. My favourite type of roti canai is roti sarang burung with two eggs. You can google it. It's super delicious!

So lucky to see your vid just as I was about to have breakfast of my own. As we Malays say, "Jemput makan" (come and join to eat). If you like to flood your roti, try this next time you find a good roti canai spot. First, ask for roti kosong garing (plain roti, crispy) to pronounce garing ... gar-ring Then you ask for a small bowl (mangkuk kecil) and fill it up with three parts CHICKEN curry, then one part FISH curry. Mix the curries. Pour on your roti kosong, gently mix together so that every piece of roti is covered with the gravy, including the INSIDES of the roti. You will have to flip the roti a few times. You will find it easier to do if you tear up the roti into small pieces first. Once the roti has soaked up the gravy a bit, go ahead and eat. I don't know how you will like eating like this, but the combination of crispy and chewy dough which has soaked into the roti is absolutely lovely for me. Some people look at me weird for doing this, because this is usually how kids who love curry too much eat their roti, but I guess I never really grew up, although I have 3 kids of my own now. By the way, in case you haven't noticed, the curries in a Malay shop, which you went here, are different from the curries from the mamak (Indian Muslim) curry houses. Now that I think of it, my tip of eating above, is something I do at mamak curry houses... the Malay shops usually have only one curry type (dhal curry), two at most (usually chicken feet curry). Sorry to ramble on like this. Have a great day to you both.

Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore are called Roti Canai, in Indonesia especially Java it is called Roti Maryam.
