Most effective SNP politician is Stephen Flynn. They could elect him and have someone else as first minister. This would allow SNP leader to focus on independence while getting a more effective and unified Scottish government which has been disintegrating under Yousuf. He could focus on elections as well as being an external arbitrator on disputes within the Scottish Parliament. In truth being in office for over a decade is never good for any party's leadership as by then they have lost unity and have run out of ideas and public are fed up with them. Sturgeon blew opportunity to have a referendum through cowardice and moment for SNP to achieve independence has gone for present. They need to be out of office for a term and regroup and refocus. Flynn coming up from Westminster in 2026 with a batch of new MSP's might work for them. None of the present MSP's can lead them to a victory then.
Maybe an actual Scotsman?
