This is fascinating; I tapped when I was a kid in Australia and what you call "flap" we just called "tap step", and the "running flap" was "tap spring". I'm thinking of getting back into it so your video is really helpful in learning the alternative names!
I have watched this quite a few times! So helpful for reviewing and cementing the steps in my head! And the links to the detailed videos is great! Thank you!
Always advise friends who want to learn to tap to subscribe, your tutorials are just so well explained and demonstrated👍hope you don't mind me sharing to some of the street dance session I attend here in the UK? Great seeing you back on TH-cam Shelby!
Hey Steve! I’ll be teaching a class in London next Sunday at Pineapple Studios! It’s an intermediate/advanced class if you know anyone who would want to come!
You do such a wonderful job, but I was wondering if you could call out the sounds while you are facing away from us. That's the way I learn by looking at the back of the instructor. LOL, by the time you get to the back view I forget what the step is. Thanks.
Karen Hennigan-Thompson these are the Miller and Ben Sportaps in white GT (which stands for goat leather, and is softer than the cow leather). I have tap shoe reviews posted on these and many other tap shoe brands if you want to check them out for more details.
Thanks for the reply. 💖 And thanks for the videos. I just noticed that you have over 9,000 subscribers. It makes me so happy to believe that tap is alive & kickin'! Any chance you can recommend a smallish tap surface that can be easily set up & struck again and that doesn't take up loads of storage space? Oh, and that doesn't cost a fortune. The only room in my house in which I could reasonably do any tap has very low nap carpet that I could lay something over, but it would have to come up for other activities.
John 3:16 KJV: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” King James Version
As a Latin & Modern dancer, this is exactly what I needed, not too slow.
Thanks for the home schooling Shelby 🙏
