You are right. They negotiated 16th over of Bumrah very well. Klassen got out but was the right thing to do, hit Hardik out of the park. But I really think that Miller choked in the Arshadeep’s over. It feels harsh to say Klaasen threw it away, but agree that him and Miller will probably be hurting because they were so close and it was within the grasp of their ability to get SA home.
Kuldeep should've been either benched or Dube should've taken one or two early overs, that axar over almost cost them the match, Not to mention they didn't used hardik for total four overs
Look at the pressure Indian players are in, Gautam Gambhir set a condition for the CAC, saying if - Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Shami don't perform well in the upcoming 2025 Champions Trophy, they should be dropped.
GG is right btw, Jadeja has been a burden in ODI national team, he plays well in IPL but not ODI, he should be limited to test and India should try to build newer candidates for all rounder position. The last time he actually put an effort in ODI is during 2019 semis.
SA have never choked since the 99 WC semi final. Their problem has almost always been their weak lower order. They will fix it and Markram will win a WC for SA before he is done.
Yes I think that lower order has been an under discussed part of the conversation around the final. Once the Klaasen/Miller partnership was broken that was the end of their recognised batters, even if Jansen, Maharaj and Rabada have played handy knocks in the past.

Awesome - sport is so fantastic how it can have you hugging and high-fiving complete strangers. Special times!
Yesterday itself the South African fans , UK n from our loving neighbour were in unison in calling the catch as illegal as they claimed the boundary rope was moved from it’s position.
With around 30 cameras in the stadium, none could pick up the moment the boundary rope was moved by Jay Shah the BCCI secretary but thousands at home around the world saw it clearly.
They can keep crying and we will drink to their salty tears🍻🍻🍻
Haven’t seen those comments - brilliant from SKY to stay calm in that moment.
@@thetoporderpodcast
In a few YT channels from those places which talked about the match after it was over.
As Jarod Kimber said, why bother wat they say, just ignore them.
@@Leftarmleggie
Jarod Kimber said it perfectly, “ why bother wat they say, best to just ignore them “.
klassen undid all the work he had done before his wicket to hardik pandya, there was no need to hit that shot, he was not able to understand the tactics of india they delayed the play after axar over, he was not able to hold his nerves south africa and nz have to overcome from being these nearly teams, this will hurt him his whole life, both miller and klassen had to calm down each other they knew that the job was not finished such a naive mistake by both batters so close but so far at the end, they threw it away they let fear and pressure get the better of them during that game.
It feels harsh to say Klaasen threw it away, but agree that him and Miller will probably be hurting because they were so close and it was within the grasp of their ability to get SA home.
Guys the 2024 T20 World Cup is over and India has won it. We celebrated for one full day. Now let’s move on.
😀
Should India have played with another fast bowler?
Maybe in hindsight Siraj over Jadeja was the play, but they would have been nervous at 34-3 without Jadeja in the batting lineup.
Kuldeep should've been either benched or Dube should've taken one or two early overs, that axar over almost cost them the match, Not to mention they didn't used hardik for total four overs

David miller was not out . Proteas shine . All you know is chokers grow up .
Excellent tournament from the Proteas - wonder if they’ll push on now that they’ve broken through the semifinal barrier at World Cups.
Lol he was out unfortunately
Look at the pressure Indian players are in,
Gautam Gambhir set a condition for the CAC, saying if - Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Shami don't perform well in the upcoming 2025 Champions Trophy, they should be dropped.
I think they will retire either way after champions trophy next year.
@@WaveRider1989seriously kohli will retire from odi format 😂😂 no one is replacing him in that..
Yes it’ll be fascinating to see Gambhir put his stamp on this side, especially after a World Cup win.
GG is right btw, Jadeja has been a burden in ODI national team, he plays well in IPL but not ODI, he should be limited to test and India should try to build newer candidates for all rounder position. The last time he actually put an effort in ODI is during 2019 semis.

I agree with you on this. Time to find another long term prospect who can play till 2027 ODI WC
SKY’s match was very good, so good the Pakistanis think it was not a catch at all!
Haven’t seen much of that chat - amazing he was able to stay so balanced and calm in that moment. Looked like a great catch to us.
Great discussion
Thanks!
