    Fantastic Build. Loved watching you build it. The takeaway I get are: Stages you do nothing; collecting parts with the risk of losing them, and the Ejector seat. The problem I see with that, is breaking it. The seat jumps high and fast, and what possibly can go wrong when it lands? And getting it back in. When you give this to your friend, "Play with the seat at your own risk." But it is a beautiful car! Well done!

      @Rick Gregory If you look closely, the colour on the bonnet doesn't match that on the rest of the model. Just before they cancelled this in the UK I was building it. I cancelled before they did, so didn't get my money back, because of the paint. The parts I received were very bad on the underside of the bonnet and the forward surface of the shield. Very 'bitty' with obvious grains in the paint, and obvious areas along edges where parts had been varnished and propped up while the varnish dried, leaving areas of varnish that were thicker and yellower. I started stripping all the paint with a view to repainting the whole thing when I had all the body parts, but realised I wasn't happy paying what I would have done for a model where I had to do that much work. Glad the one Wayne did seemed to be better overall even if the bonnet is still a different colour.

      @@garywhitfield317 I viewed the video again and I see what you mean. I thought it was just how the light reflected on it, but it does look like a different color. Usually Wayne points these things out; maybe it's not all that bad; but the hood (bonnet), now that you pointed it out, has a different sheen to it. So does the sunroof (moon roof?) But Wayne did a great job building it, and it will look good on his friends shelf.

    Not only is it interesting the amount of detail they do in the engines on car models after this one, but it's also interesting that, on future models, it looks you're actually doing SOMETHING with every stage.
    Maybe Eaglemoss got so many people stopping their subscriptions or just not doing the build because the people didn't like how often they were just given parts to look at, but not actually do anything with for so long. That's probably why you start getting stuff like the frame and everything sooner in the builds than you did here (thinking of the Ecto-1 and Delorean builds you've done/are doing).

    • @StephenCole1916
      @StephenCole1916 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      One of my friends said that he will allow the parts to build up in a box until he's nearly gotten them all before starting to build it. I've decided to do the same thing with my DB5

      They could, but they better do a total hoverhaul of the instructions to totally change the sequence of the build (making a user to hoard pieces inside a drawer for a year or so is not exactly the best way to incentivize the purchase of the single stages) and to improve other things (like the fact that you don't understend which screws use at every stage by looking at those weird instructions).

    I started watching your channel with jumping back to the delorian build. I recently ordered both the 69 charger build and the Eleanor build also. Should have first packs for both within the week. Haven’t seen your videos for them yet. Is there anyone that has mods for these builds that I can purchase before I get to far along and have to take them apart again. Thanks. Keep up the great videos. I’ll have to jump back to the first episode of this one also.

    Great build! Been wanting to comment on what I've seen repeatedly when screws are used on four corners. It's best practice to not tighten one screw and tighten the other three on the first go. It's best to screw and tighten these in a "star" formation/order at relatively the same depth repeating the "star" formation until all four screws are tightened. This technique ensures proper leveling and meeting of parts as these are screwed towards each other. The technique of not screwing the screws all the way in at once also applies when 2 or more screws are involved. Otherwise, I have enjoyed your build videos of this Aston Martin DB5. Very informative and fun to watch!

    the producers thought it'll be great having valid badge numbers for most Europe and UK as well, changing them to avoid excessive traffic tickets, that idea turned out being the revolving number plates badges, at that time the DB5GT was a preproduction prototype from Aston Martin while in the book he droved a heavy peronalized DB Mk III, no longer in production then

    Man, that did turn out beautifully. I kinda wish I could get my hands on the kit - but I really wouldn't be able to stand the pacing of the build... I might pick it up down the road if I can get the entire kit in one go - but there's really no way I'd sit through month after month with nothing to put together only to have the bulk of the work come in at the end.

    In the couple of years I've subscribed to your channel and all the builds you have worked on over that time that is the 1st time I've ever seen you using scissors, be honest did you blag them from the Mrs? One thing I will say and it's a little bit of advice, try and get yourself a Haynes manual for whatever vehicle you are working on it would be a good backdrop for the model but also give you the proper terminologies for the parts you are adding. But congratulations on finishing the build and it looks good. You can get the Haynes manuals for lots of models I'm sure I've seen them for the millennium falcon and the back to the future DeLorean, and the route master bus plus plenty more. But good job done buddy 👏

    Random thought re wiring placement. Would double sided tape help? It tends to be a bit thicker than normal tape so may cushion wiring more, also tackiness may help stop wires shifting about so they'd stay out of the way.

    Wouldn't mind having it in my livingroom, but for a 1:8 scale model I don't actually think it's that detailed - from the chrome trim around the windows the huge bulky mirrors on the fenders. I think they could have done better.

    Love your builds have built a couple of them myself R2D2, Titanic & Bismarck, I'm from Australia and I'm interested in your views about Eaglemoss going into administration and what the future may hold, but I also noticed De Agostini has restructured their website it seems they have totally disconnected themselves from anything to do with Star Wars or Star Trek, Unfortunately for Australia we have nothing since R2D2 mainly because the Australian agent went bust a some years earlier I would of loved to build the X-Wing series or the Back to the Future car.
