Burial’s ability to let you create your own unique imaginations while listening to his music is truly remarkable
untrue is like if gmod became an album
It's like a tribal rhythm, except meant for a jungle made from concrete. Gorgeous atmosphere
I'd watch that movie
thats because is the evolution of jungle>two_step>garage>future_garage.
When I reviewed this in 2008 in the iTunes Music Store, I said it was like a rave in the French Quarter of New Orleans on Halloween (the swung beat is very jazzy).
@@paridox4ever nice
Tribal? I don't think so. Some review I read lately put it best: this is modern blues music.
What gets me are the little details that aren't necessary but make a track like this a good piece of writing as much as production.
Let everything happen to you. Beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final.
Thanks, i needed to hear this right now.
genuinly cant undrstand my heart i feel so empty i need direction a reason but this comment is reason enough
Love one another as yourself, because they just might be.
i also enjoyed jojo rabbit
This came at the right moment brother 💛
This whole album reminds me of my time in the UK depressingly drunk partying at clubs until like 7 am in the morning
Spot on
Same for me
It reminds me of a coffee shop I used to hang at.
Good luck with that now deadest nightlife going 😂😂😂 nothing but 2d creatures everywhere

No idea how long I’ve been obsessed with this heartbreaking/perfect/insomniac song - what a gift ❤❤
the clicking lighter sound is what makes the track for me - Burial's style is fully displayed via its presence: a subtle detail that left alone wouldn't mean anything but that in the track itself makes a huge difference and makes the track unlike anything you've ever heard
damn!!! i just barely noticed that now that you mention it
I read this in the voice of the radio guy on True Love VIP, matched perfectly lol
I think it’s actually a pistol sound from Metal Gear Solid 2
I also love how he's never "overdoing" any sound. Like the lighter clicks you mentioned or the bullet shells or some weird hihat pattern, they only seem to appear every couple bars and sections. He's always switching things up and that makes his beats so fucking unique!
The incessant, driving rhythms on this record are so hypnotic.
love the adjective incessant
I still listen to this album 10 years after I first heard it. It reminds me of what I remember falling in love feeling like.
sometimes I wonder if I will ever feel like that again or if it will be the same. Is it different because we are older?
@@Somnivore7 same here. 😪
@@Somnivore7 Saaaaaame, feels like the world is so cold these days...
damn this is one of the most beautiful tracks I’ve heard in a while... addicted to it
The drums are catchy af!
Can you believe this guy sampled game sounds to make the sound of drums like hit-hats and stuff? You can still hear bullet falling to the ground.
One of the shiniest jewels in the electronic music, visioner, creator of new wave of future garage artists, as well as a genre itself.
But how?? I cant understand whats so special in the album untrue
ken k well burial basically redefined a whole genre of music and that’s special
@@kenk6981 lets just say he invented new dimension of dubstep, that might sound wrong tho, because he blends many genres, to achieve such unique sound
@@kenk6981 its simple have you ever heard something like this album before 2007?
now notice how, picking 10 random electronic music album after 2007, they all have a similar sounding style.
@@Pinzarossa so who is a greater artist in electronic music burial or aphex twin??
This album was created on a laptop
Incredible

I can only recommend pumping this tune while being at a train station or taking the subway. It fits the atmosphere perfectly. Sometimes it even harmonizes with the noises the train makes, but no guarantee here.
this is why i love this music, it fits the uk feel so well
fr exactly where I’m at while listening, well put 🧬
that whooshing sub at 1:24 ,on the left ear. my goodness. how do you even make a sound like that. its unreal
using a bass sample and setting the EQ to a lowpass and pan it to the left slightly and you have a nice bass
Still my favourite electronic album of all time however many years later. Memories of comedowns and walks home. What a genius.
Agreed
Pinball, empty bullet shells, muffled laser beam, sewers- this one of the best from the album
the bullet shell sounds dropping is one of my favorites
I remember listening to this for the first time. The whole vibe of this album is like the first time you realize everything is fake and most people you encounter are nothing more than automatons.
Found this album 2 days ago and i've been listening to it all day, had a dream i was in london last night
Welcome.
Did you get cheffed blud
Cant take my eyes off you for 13 years straight
I envied you
This mean a lot to me.
I've died here thousand times...
this is my favorite on Untrue and possibly in general
it's one of those tracks that multiple listens reveal layers of sound you never picked up on before...this track still does this to me and I've been listening to it for over 10 years! check out what he does with the vocals at 3:38 when you hear the word "envy", listen behind that vocal and you can hear it slowed down and deeper...he only does this during these last few bars...it's just awesome...sublime detail.
best track on the album for me
yup
Its cut, samples and shuffled. This guy is and will always be in his own style. WayAhead!!
i can imagine him taking an hour just to make 10 seconds of audio, as a producer making something like this seems absolutely impossible.
He made this album on a laptop
@@Aethelvlad man made all these tunes in 2 weeks in some old version of soundforge
Love that atmosphere!
14 years ago... 20 years old.... time flies....
people don't understand how incredible this is.

timeless atmosphere and sound
Absolutely, stupid sick. Unbelievable. These guys know something we don’t. Another level.
Amazing stuff. Britain really does produce some talent.
I'm also loving other various UK electronica based acts like
Aphex Twin, Autechre, Four Tet, Unkle, Massive Attack, Forest Swords, Allflaws
Mutations of all the kingdoms United
Squarepusher
Nightmares On Wax
I'm 17, I'm smoking a cigarette in my room at 2am. I'm looking out into the cold, pitch black night- the only thing visible from my window is one street lamp and the lit space beneath it: nothing but an empty road. This song is playing. For some reason I'll keep thinking of this moment for years to come.
Still listening to this in 2023...
Pioneer
Impossibly timeless
isn't that fucking crazy? i heard this 10+ years ago, and listening today i could imagine it being released last week. he can release it again in 50 years and it's still gonna fuckin slap
What an underrated album. One of the most unique albums you'll ever hear. xxx

3:17 just listen to the bass synth from here to the end.. for years i listened without noticing now its one of the most important parts of the song for me..
long time my ol fwen
These drums.
cool stuff :)
One of the drums literally sounds like a Minecraft bow
that pretty sound at 0:22 is amazing
there’s a sound in here that sounds like patrick yelling lol
I’m at the happiest moment in my life so far, yet I listen to this to reflect on how far I’ve come and understand that I shouldn’t take these times for granted. These tracks almost give you a strong lust for life. That’s the best way to describe what burial is for me, lustful, lustful for each and every moment of the day.
"you've never heard of Burial? here, listen to this"
I am going to give a big test that will change my whole life and I like this song not just because it is beautiful but also because the lead is saying something which sounds like MCQ.
This music is amazing, can someone recommend me more music/albums like this please
