I really love how this song almost feels like a sequel to "Creep," the song that made Yorke famous. That song was written when he was a lonely kid too shy to say hello to the girl he had a crush on. Years passed, and Radiohead got huge- and now he's gonna go right up to her and be all /kinds/ of suave (with the help of Burial and Four Tet, how cool is that?). But it's still the same guy, and I like that. It has a sort of "nerds-have-conquered-the-world" feeling to it.

the importance is not creating a pure new thing, its more in a combination of elements that is done well and in a very natural way with good direction and narrative. Condensing those catchy riffs with influence of innovative music that many brand inaccessible..but not in such a derivative way like a 'fusion band' or something...to me that's their importance...
For me It works for both really You can have it on just chilling with people, or yeah just listen to it on your own and really appreciate all the details that are going on within the song.
