I think that was actually a super manipulative move by Anne. She started it as "oh I have to ask for a royalty because my son would be sad if I didn't, you're a mom so you understand". She's trying to appeal to a fellow mother to manipulate her into accepting a royalty deal. Her son probably doesn't even know what a royalty deal is

Kevin’s deals are often the least greedy in my opinion. He often goes for loans or royalty deals instead of making the entrepreneurs part with all of their equity. In a successful business, equity is king.

Have you guys ever watched the show? Kevin always says the greed line when someone is competing with him. Its not that deep
They're completely right, always go with a percentage, rather than fixed dollar amount. If you're making 98c profit and you have to give them $1 you're going to go bankrupt and no one makes any money, even at 20%, you have to be making $5 profit to pay $1, and $5 per unit profit is a lot of money, you give them $1, you make $4, with them behind you, you make $1M profit, they get $200k and you get $800k. Their connections and resources get you that $1M figure vs you doing 10x the work.
what not true, its 500k sales to remove the royalty, that's nothing. they are now cash positive so with the 100k they have the ability to grow nicely until 500k sales.
if they dont reach 500k sales in a year I dont know why they in the market. the market is huge and 500k sales is nothing.

Yeah lol. This is a low margin/high volume product. I was actually quite surprised the such a greedy deal of $1 royalty per unit. Their margin can go down to even 50¢ if the sales growth justifies it.

Every entrepreneur waits for Mark's thoughts. If mark enters, its almost sure he will win.
The other Sharks are all poor compared to him that is why. Lori for QVC, Daymond for clothing and Barbara for a restaurant and Mr Wonderful and Robert last.
Unless I had a restaurant or real estate type business I would hope Barbara was not there. I would rather have a random guest shark over Robert too.
Marks ties to medical companies make him a great shark for this (to advertise to people with hand motor skills) and Lori's QVC/retail ties are also great for this. These are the PERFECT sharks for this, and to have both is incredible.
They could of at the very least acknowledged daymond and thanked him for his offer. It was a really good offer aswell. Very odd that they didnt even look in his direction.

Anne Wojcicki doesn't deserve that seat. Her big sister is CEO of youtube (tons of connections), her father (professor at stanford), her previous ex lovers (Alex Rodriguez guest in shark tank).
Anne had literally every resource available for her to reach where she is, oh and she attended Yale. Give the shark tank seat to someone who are truly self-made, who had to crawl out of poverty with no resources and lacked opportunities.

i have been watching shark tank for a while , started off with liking kevin but now he and barbara are like at the bottom for me while lori and mark are at the top. at 1:53 you can see mark going like nope you should not do that. it shows from how he talks that he is a billionaire and businessman. Lori and him make the best and fair deals.

To be honest, Lori gets the most deals out of all of them. She has a likeable personality and the right connects for product based businesses.
I remember him giving her a really hard time in a handful of episodes when she was still pretty new to the show. It's nice to see the mutual respect now. They are usually the entrepreneurs' two favorite sharks, and they're mine as well.

@@gabrielreyes2379 😣 I'm not sure what you think I am implying, but I seriously think that there is an enormous potential out here for people like me with ideas in the prototype stage that have little to no manufacturing/marketing/distribution knowledge.
You don’t want to go to a bank, not that they would give you money these days. A prototype and an idea rarely gets you a sit-down with an investor unless you have sales. The best way these days to see if your idea is any good is to crowdfund. You don’t give up any equity and you’ll know if people like it or not...it’ll save you from ordering factory minimums and stocking shit you can’t sell if people don’t like it.
Good ideas are cheap. It's all about execution and what you did with your "good idea".
NORMAN WELCH “a good idea but no manufacturing, marketing, or distribution knowledge”...that sounds like Steve Jobs or Jack Ma. Just surround yourself with people that can do the things that you can’t do. They weren’t engineers or software guys. Those two knew how to sell. They sold their vision to people who then believed in them. Everyone has a good idea but they don’t follow it all the way through. It takes effort, time and discipline....but majority of what you need is luck.
I bought 2 of these so far. I’ve seen every episode of Shark Tank..... I swear I was having this exact issue at the time this aired. I ordered right away! I was about the return my brand new car seat, which took me 3weeks of research just to buy.
