I was in Ireland traveling through Europe etc… I had a Tachycardia episode and I’ve had them over the years…I ended up in a hospital in Ennis and the staff took me right there and lowered it back to a normal rate…I was always told to never have tea or coffee but he told me that it’s an ‘electrical circuitry’ cause.. and I was then offered the most delicious pot of Irish tea and biscuits! After getting a ride from a lorry driver and being anxious about what to expect at the hospital I was so grateful for the wonderful nurses and doctor. I came home and received a bill from the hospital for a two night stay at the best hospital I’ve ever been in for $100 . I paid the bill and sent a letter of thanks for the beyond professional help I have ever received- even to this day I will always be in awe of their dedication and compassion.
From what I've seen on these programs, the care given to patients far surpasses what I've ever received here in the US.
You do not have health care in theUS. For one of the greatest democratic country in the world, obviously going downhill fast , however no health care. Very very pathetic. Just mean lean American mean. There is no excuse for it for not looking after your own. Ours is not perfect, no where is that has health care but it sure is better than nothing. With exorbitant bills after.

Thats because the doctors are salaried. They are not paid by the patient like here in the USA. They are actually there because they want to help people and not just for a paycheck.
I have always thought that our ER is get in, have your blood work done and see the doctor for about five minutes, then you leave...I am the biggest fan of the UK, especially Scotland...I got my EMT license here, but didn't ever get to work bc I was in auto crash...anyway, I have watched things like this since I was about 15 or so...I would love to send the doctors a copy so they can see how important the humans are bc if we weren't there, they would not have a job...I absolutely cried the first one of these and also the life flights...it is an amazing how much we accept bc we can't get it better...
It's like the doctors from every kind of doctors at one so you don't have to go see them after you get out of hospital...I love how the medical teams call everyone a nice name, but that's just how Britain interacts in a better way...I mean if my docs came in and called me love, darling, sweetheart I might heal faster ...❤
The nurses making the family a cuppa tea...I have wanted to live in Scotland, but as time goes on, and things just keep getting in the way...
Ppl here are arguing with each other and forever thinking that our healthcare...some socialism is great!!!

I know how this blond lady feels. My husband’s friend walked into my office one day and said I had to go with him because my husband had a serious fall at work. He died the next night at midnight from a ruptured aorta that the scans missed. I was 30 yrs old and pregnant.

Great stories!! The young man who was adopted along with his brother really touched my heart the way he spoke about his adoptive parents.
I'm adopted & I adored my adoptive parents; they WERE my parents to me. I miss them dreadfully EVERY day 😢 I've located some of my birth family, but it's mostly curiosity & genetics that interest me 😊
This is truly the best medical show…it gives a human perspective-by getting to know the injured on a personal level- and witnessing the diligent work health care providers give; on these live-critical situations.
I love when Dr. Maja is on A&E! She is so sweet and caring. All of the staff at A&E are wonderful! I am in awe of how much each of them care for their patients. And they serve them tea or coffee and ask if they are hungry. It's something you don't get here in the USA! God bless each of you! ❤🙏💞🩺

@@Lynn-td3ly I went through an airport in the US (LAX) and the way the staff spoke to people was actually horrific! I think I'd be too afraid to go to an ER in the US, not only because of the hospital bill of thousands I would probably get for consultation fees , a bag of IV saline and a paracetamol, but I can only imagine how they will react under the amount of stress they probably have, each day.
@@juliemcgugan1244 If your in the Washington/ Baltimore area they have the sweetest nicest staff and people that will go out of their way to help with your bills . University of Maryland and John Hopkins are 5 stars in my book! But your smaller hospitals are in it for the money

Everything is different when you're older. Years ago, I took an Anatomy and Physiology course. Every chapter had a section at the end about how it differed for older people. Now I'm older and I know personally how true that is.
To the son who had the bike accident, good young man you are…beautiful parents you have ❤ That’s family love! Your biological father did the right thing, he knew he couldn’t do the best for you and your brother…that’s love as well ❤
Incredibly moving... to give two young boys the family they so desperately need, that's an heroic act. And no doubt incredibly rewarding too.
I relate to the young man, I was adopted at 3 months old. I was in a hospital with pneumonia when my parents first saw me. They adopted a sick child, how amazing they were. I had a fabulous life because of them. And became a medical professional for 43 years. GOD had a plan for my life.
Families require both parents right?

No safety rigging? Here in the USA that's a safety issue that is required on a job like that. Good luck to him.
I doubt they don’t have safety regulations, it’s the US that is famously poorly regulated. Remember when your banks were lending money to buy houses people couldn’t afford, and the whole world fell into recession? Last week in Vancouver there was a rigging accident, 3 men fell. They were fully geared up, all protocols followed, the high rise they were working on was not the problem. It was the chimney on the old church next door that created the problem. All regulations were followed, and there are a ton of them. There will be a big report and recommendations and it won’t happen again. Most Americans don’t travel outside of America enough to learn they’ve been given a poor deal.
How many ct scanners do they have? Everyone seems very professional and kind to each other and the patients.
If ever there was a time you need professionalism & kindness, it's when you're ill.
And the pts are grateful and willing to cooperate.
The problems we have in the states is registration and billing and orders and on and on..... they just take a name and shoot the picture!
I have dislocated both of my shoulders and both of my knee caps in my life and Mack is 100% right, it is the WORST pain imaginable. I recently broke and sprained my ankle and that was nothing compared to a dislocation. I walked on it for 3 days and only went in for the swelling it wasn’t even hurting that bad.
I SIMPLY LOVE LOVE THIS SHOW!

I've unfortunately spent a lot of time with my parents in hospitals in the Pittsburgh PA and Cleveland OH area. Nurses ALWAYS will get us something when needed. They work the hardest of anyone there.
@@jenniferbraun7269 I have also been in the hospital for a triple double by pass died 3 times during the surgery, just so you know. They work very hard saving our lives, I cannot imagine them having to also get coffee. I think you may have miss understood my POV.

Good news, a tear-jerker at times.
Adopting is something I want to do in the future (I'm a teacher, and I work with kids who need help and I love working with kiddos and helping them). I've always wanted to adopt because I know I can nurture, support, and help a child feel safe. I see so many lively adoption stories and I adore the people who saved children by giving them a home ❤

My dad spent a good deal of time in the E.R. in the last years of his life. I was always with him. He was very hard of hearing and no matter how many times I told the health care providers that he couldn't hear, not one of them ever spoke loud enough for him to hear. It got to the point that he would just tell them he couldn't hear, and to defer to me to communicate. I felt it was very disrespectful to him as he was an extremely intelligent man who wanted very much to be part of the conversation. I felt as though the nurses and doctors just couldn't be bothered. When I see the doctor making an effort to communicate with the elderly gentleman, it warms my heart.
What a beautiful funny gentleman John is!? Would love to spend a day with him and listen to his stories 🎉❤

I have almost the exact same story. My husband fell off of 12 ft scaffold and he did die on impact because he really did internally decapitated. You just keep telling yourself like this happens to other people not us. And the worst part is you don't get to say goodbye. And he used to be a cell tower climber. He would climb towers that were 500 ft in the air and a 12 ft scaffold took him out. It's just crazy! In a lot of people don't know this but when you donate organs like my husband did he has to have no brain activity at all and somehow the brain kind of lives on and there is still like a pulse in it even like 6 days later but the doctors have to wait until that is gone and he started changing colors and kind of getting bloated at the end I couldn't go see him on the day they took his organs it was just.... I couldn't.
That must have been so hard.

I completely understand the feeling of leaving thee gather of your children because theyvare never around. I still feel that way today, but my only hesitation is that my child will see her father even less. I keep wondering if he would change his work schedule to spend more time with his one and only child that he had late in life. I had my first girl 2mo after turning 20yo, then my 2nd girl 6mo before I turned 40yo. Both of my girls were unexpected surprises and blessings. I consider my 2nd girl a miracle baby because I had been told by my OB/GYN for the pat 10yrs that I could no longe conceive because I only had 1 partial ovary and never had regular menstration.
I was adopted too. I know the parents that raised me loved me. As yours does. We are lucky. I wish you luck with your dresms

United States we are treated as drug acctics. They enjoy seeing us in pain. It's also a control attitude.
Docs are probably scared shitless of being sued. Everyone sues in the States. Most of the time great docs in the States as well as anywhere else but insurance is high.
I totally agree. I have been in a bad state and completely denied pain relief in an ER once. Unbelievable.
My great grandmother who is 95, met her husband at 15. He simply walker up to her said "I'm going to marry you!" walked her home. Years later married.
When her mum asked my great grandmother who as that she said "Havent got a bloody clue!".
Mack, sweetie, there's a reason why God sent you and your brother to these great parents of yours. Your biological mom and dad weren't supposed to be in your lives and I truly know how bad a shoulder blade out of socket feels like!! My ex- boyfriend beat me up one night and kicked me in the back and that was when I got up and ran for my life!! My shoulder blade had me screaming till I was in the hospital. Thank God they knocked me out for a few minutes. You still got your whole life ahead of you. Just dont damage anymore posches lol!! 😂 Oh yea,when you get older all that pain is gonna settle in your back so if you can, go to a chiropracter to help you with alignments. They truly help!! These are the first 2 consults (Raja and Manny) that are not as empathetic as the others. I mean they did their jobs but seemed more like it's my job. All other consultants I have seen are a lot more caring for the patients and families.

Oh yeah, that would have been helpful. Two hysterical children home alone thinking their father was about to die (he wasn't).
She knew his life wasn't in danger. She said he needed to be treated in the hospital, which was true. She did what she needed to do to keep her children safe. She even mentions that she needed to be with them physically to tell them more details. Which is fine. And good parenting. Get over yourself.

People are never aware of the demands in being a copper where your life is ruled by the bad guys, time and marriages dissolve like snow on a hot day as the husband / wife is never home for even family events. Give them their due we would be in an anarchy were they not to do their jobs or work to rule. Being a Copper is almost akin to being a serviceman whom many are away from home for many months, 👏👍

Everybody should take an insurance
We have national insurance its taken direct from earnings and employers have to contribute as well. Self employed must also pay. We don't have to worry like they do in the States. Also if you are a diabetic in the UK the medication is free. In Germany you pay an average of 5 euros per prescription and 10 euros per day contribution if you are a hospital inpatient depending on your income.
