this was an interesting one to start with for katrina, but there aren't any bad performances, ultimately. she is my favorite female vocalist (sans sohyang), due to her incredible backstory & resilience, her natural talent (no formal lessons), from her rich low notes to her powerful whistles, which sometime incorporate another katrina signature: vocal agility. katrina can run for days & with only the best, & i could go on for days...but please do keep enjoying her with us! you'll get a new sub if i see her a few more times here for sure! even though the quality is less than ideal, i will still have to recommend her whitney houston medley live at metrowalk 2018 (i'm sure someone will mention it somewhere, as it's quite popular). the power she possessed that night vocally, her ability to connect with her audience & to pay homage to whitney properly is a real delight; plus, the medley is almost entirely early whitney songs, not the same 2 or 3 everyone covers, which i found refreshing. she also has a beautiful rendition of "never enough" on her official channel. hope to see more kat here! ❤

What I would suggest is some of her work she has done at her home studio called her "One take cover sessions" That's right. ONE TAKE!! Her performance of Mariah Carey's version of "I wanna know what is" is something to behold, if you not ready for it. Her cover of your countrymen Jessie J's "Mama knows best" is an exercise in stamina to say the least. Part of the reason I suggest these, is because it's still very early in her musical journey, meaning she was still quite "unpolished" is maybe a strong word, but the raw talent was there to see from the minute you first hear her.
