- While traveling in different countries I regularly go to barbershops but never before I filmed the whole process. When I saw this barbershop tucked away in a corner of the old town of Ipoh I decided to try my first ever barbershop video. I'm glad I filmed it because it was a life changing experience. Basu Basu is a character you don't come across often!
I couldn't find the exact location on Google maps but if you look around this temple maps.app.goo.g... you will find it pretty easily!

PRIOR to Independence, the currency of Malaya was Dollar ( same as Singapore) . Upon Independence, a new cuŕrency is use, the ringgit. Old timer like the two guys still use the term dollar when speaking in English.😂😂

to answer to your question why everyybody keep saying dollar(normally older grnerations) Before Malaysia’s independence, the currency used was the Malayan dollar 1. It was introduced in 1939 and was used in Malaya, Singapore, Sarawak, North Borneo, Brunei, and Riau Archipelago 2. The Malayan dollar was pegged to the British pound sterling at a rate of 60 Malayan cents to one pound 1. In 1953, the Malayan dollar was replaced by the Malaya and British Borneo dollar 1. The Malaya and British Borneo dollar remained legal tender until 1969 12.

Anyway RM100 for a haircut and light massage is way too much.
A haircut is usually around RM15 here in Penang but I always end up spending RM50 because I can never say no to a head massage, shave, facial etc... hahahahaha. Just 30-40 mins of relaxation. Good on you for the nice tip to the barber, thank you.

I like it in my home town there is also one almost the same indian barbershop like that. after they cut your hair they massage your head feels refreshing. feel light. I like it also when they touch up your ear. Noise and face. But I don't know they have full body massage now I know 😅😅😅

Shaving head on our own may be a bit troublesome ..especially if your are not already bald..i used to bald myself using cordless haircut machine..i dont know why during the process the machine broke down..straightaway i wear a cap then heading to barber shop with my half shave head 😂😂😂

when malaysian says ‘one minute.. one minute huh..’ that means ‘be patient.. i’m not done yet’…. n also it doesn’t mean things will settle in one minute time.. the expression of one minute is to indicate a very short time to complete the task..
plus ‘on the way’ also can mean i just left or abt to leave my hse/ofc/school to meet u…. 😅😅😅 so expect to wait a bit longer… 😅
