Am surprise Tim ure still in Ipoh,must b a nice laid-back small city,u seem to like it there,all d foods look delicious,fyi there mny types of laksa,northern,east coast n southern,oso Sarawak laksa n different people wth different twist of it,as fr Perak d laksa cradel is K.Kangsar it's kol laksa sarang burung n dats superb,as fr eating shrimp/prawn mostly people wud strip d skin off,but if its d crispy ones u n also eat it whole wth d skin,it's believed d skin is kindda antidote to neutralize d cholesterol usually comes with it,great vid mate thanks n hve a pleasant stay in Ipoh

Ipoh and penang are majority chinese. So when you're there you ask the local chinese for recommendation. Ipoh chicken rice is one of the best in whole of malaysia. And there're many many more. Just ask the local Chinese. I'm from the food capital of malaysia, penang, and i love ipoh's chinese food. When you're in Malaysia doing a little bit of research on each state you visit would help you a lot and make your travel much more enjoyable. Take care.

have you try kuew teow kicap yet? u must try when u are in ipoh. Curry mee/kuew teow or with ketchup is a must when u come to Ipoh, its different from other states.
For the drink actually the salty taste came from the asamboy because asamboy taste it's very sour and salty and for the mushroom at the tomyam name is innokie mushroom

Laksa is not very filling, lasts you maybe 30 minutes and you have to eat more... that Laksa is not shy about its flavour....❤❤❤ use a spoon to eat with the soup...

I think the salty taste of the detox drink comes from the preserved plum which are the small round brownish dried plums, you can see floating.
