Sounds so much like chasing shorts / grounds in wiring. Start in the middle is exactly right!
    Commenting for the algorithm.

Excellent video and I will share with my team. Far too often well intended volunteers only want to know which fader to use and panic when something goes wrong. I would consider adding these to your checklist: Manage console permissions to prevent unauthorized changes, always do a line check of everything prior event, create “Known Good” baseline scene that can be recalled but not edited, connect phone directly to console and play music to confirm main out/amp/speakers functioning, post at console Group/DCA/Aux/Matrix map. If you are the only one who knows how things work you desperately need to label/document/train. Even highly skilled techs will need to know how you set things up. BTW - your video graphics👍

Thanks for the comment! My video editor Paolo does a fantastic job with the graphics. I'll let him know!

This is great advice! I wish I had this back when I started running sound. would have saved me a lot of headache and hard knocks learning. Cannot stress enough labeling and documentation especially in complicated signal flows

James back in the day, when some of us were still battling dinosaurs in the streets, not so old analog consoles like the Mackie SR32-4 you showed at 3:23 had bus assignments which were used sorta like a digital bus or group before there was any digital in the mixer. You could still assign a channel straight to the LR mix but you could assign it to any of the 4 sub groups my pressing either 1/2 or 3/4 then panning it to the side/group you want it to hit. The groups could then be routed to the L/R main mix. That mixer also had tape returns on it in case you were recording to a 4 track tape and wanted the tracks to come back in and get fed to the L/R master.

Yeah the knobs on the Mackie were too small for T-rex arms, too

Always great information and tutorials. My question is our church is looking to upgrade our audio equipment. We like to use plugins for our services, especially on vocals. What would you recommend? Thank you in advance

Hey James, I had a Q about the X32, routing and using two DAWS at the same time, wondering if you'd be able to answer it (over here or email)?

I have a behringer x32 and last Sunday a weird problem occurred. Right now we are unable to control the volume from our inputs in all channels. I can control the volume when I switch to send on fader on my live stream and in ears but not the house. The board worked fine previously but now we have this issue. Thoughts please.

I purchase a studiolive 32sx . Is it possible to set crossover on Matrix so I could feed my PA+Sub.

Unfortunately it's not. There's no LPF on the EQ for the StudioLive mixers

You can create a high and low shelf on the output EQs and use those like HPF and LPF to create a crossover. You can also adjust the steepness of those, which is cool, but it's harder to align than actual HPF and LPF.
