Please turn off "Stable Volume" in the video playback setting (the first menu item after clicking the gear icon) as for some reason, this new TH-cam playback feature made the video much noisier than usual.

I am just leaving a comment to encourage you to keep making reviews as thoroughly as you do. Thank you

The battery current draw probably included the draw from the automatic display backlighting and selector switch light since it was face down. If you aren't using it in dim conditions, it will probably draw less.

I just got this meter for 70 percent off haha. Throw some sibas in and add it to my collection. I always thought it was overpriced at 92 dollars or so after tax. I got it for 24.

Good review and teardown. It is always good to see what is inside a multimeter before buying it

Thanks for the review. I saw this multimeter for sale and thought I might get it. Your review has persuaded me it would probably be a good buy for my hobby work.

Now that looks like a really good multimeter.

Never seen that shutter mechanism before. I guess Fluke expects you to know how to use a multimeter😁

I do have a HoldPeak HP-770D. To me, it seemed all good except the rotary selection nob. It feels cheap. But that is not to undermine the accuracy of this meter.

Great review, thank you! I chose the HP-770D for hobby and electronic bench and do not regret it.
For residential high voltages I use a different meter (Fluke T5-600).
I still need to find a basic, Pocket Meter to keep in the car for automotive stuff, suggestions are welcome.

My glove box meters are the ut33A+ and the ut123. Small and accurate. I keep one in both my cars.

wow so glad that the meter got an OK for most of the functions. 😎 Because I have one of these meters for about a month to use on my hobby projects and it works nice. 🥳 thanks.

I was eyeing this meter but the slow capacitance readings are a deal breaker. It reads the higher capacitances a little faster than some other meters but the lower ones extremely slower. The UT61B+ is super slow at reading anything around 3000uF or higher but instantly reads the small values. Also has the instant continuity check response.

What meter did you end up going with ?

    • @Magneticitist
      @Magneticitist ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@muddyriverdogz I just kept the UT61B+ and was going to just use Flukes at work if needed, but I honestly never grab the Flukes anymore. I kept the UT61B+ because of how handy the diode check function is. It audibly beeps and lights up during a drop. For measuring large capacitance I just use one of those little ESR meters (ESR70).

If only they had spent money on MOV'S and not hFE, could have been a winner.... Great review.

The aneng an870 can be had on Amazon for 28 cad and as for half the price its great for digital electronics. I bought 2 of them for a charity i have. I wanted the ut61e plus like i already have but theyve trupled in price almost. Even on ali. I'd like to have the other hold peak palm meters. The lcr one

      Yes, it's using standard sockets.

Man... Everyone needs to learn the hard way to not measure mains voltage on current mode.

Oh, a Hewlett Packard product, HP-xxxx... NOT. Probably the reason for the stupid HoldPeak name in the first place so ALL of their test equipment model numbers can start with HP. Wouldn't work for Tektronix stuff.

A toy-grade product. It won't last longer time. The high level technician uses a fluke meter in china.
