I reviewed the Video on Amazon under product review, but you video added some good information. I'm an electronics tech by degree but never worked as one.. long story. I bought this because I had bought a bench multimeter that for some reason when measuring doesn't latch onto a value--just runs randomly.. must be something wrong with it.. anyhow, that's why I went ahead and bought this one.. I couldn't afford the Fluke with similar features.
Nice review of not so good multimeter. Generally, I must agree with your recommendation regarding household mains power. But not because of the bad input protection. I am old enough to remember using Metex multimeters with virtually no input protection on CAT II and CAT III (230V) mains. If you destroy your cheap multimeter because it doesn't have adequate input protection doesn't really matter. What really matters is that you shouldn't mess with deadly household mains voltage if you are not qualified and really know what you are doing no matter what instrument are you using.
Yes, $80 is way to much for that unsafe hobby meter, that is a $30 meter at best. You can get the Mastech for $40 something or the Amprobe AM 510 for the same which has much better input protection. If you spend $80, pony up a few more and get the Brymen BM235 which has been tested by Joe Smith up to around 12Kv with no blow up and is TRMS with non contact voltage detection too. My one and only purchase with Banggood for the KSGER soldering station was a nightmare to get it here. I do like the station but some of their stuff and their not so honest policy of what's in stock and what's not leave a lot to be desired, not to mention shipping issues. I would avoid this toy at all costs. Don't be drawn in with the 40,000 count. You can get the UniT 61E for $60 or less which is 22,000 count and has better input protection than this poorly designed hand grenade waiting to happen. Many meter's out there much better and safer for the same cost or much less.

where did you get that nice banana plugs? The uni-t 50b is 11 years old has auto-backlight but is very dim. The jacks are screwed (nice touch) and fuses are really ceramic ?
I don't know how I missed this clip but that is a damn cool meter. Wished I had that when I was first learning to use a meter. Man, the meters I blown hooking the leads wrong, lol. Thanks for this.
You probably heard the link is wrong. 😀 Oh, and those are centimeters also. I thought that might be the best Chinses meter yet until the guts were laid out to see. Still might be a good purchase even with the stiff price. Thanks for the video!
Great review! I'll point out 3 things. First (and I'm surprised you didn't mention this) was that there are two options for switching off the meter. This may come into play for left and right handed people. Second I'm not a fan of 9V battery for meters (but i realize a lot of them have it). Lastly that is expensive...i was going to guess $50 after you said "pricey"... Again awesome review!
Great video, but I do prefer a modded 8008 I think :) And why do you need that many counts if a reading of 5.0016241213215623215864 Volts is probably not completely accurate....
you can get the 770HD 60000 count version for 35 bucks and that fairly useful chuck around meter for the price . I use one in auto repair work as a third quick/rough use meter, works well with amp clamp too . 80 bucks for 770D was crazy money lol .
It's not fast enough to hold peak (pun intended). I would question the accuracy of the 4th digit but it is a way to get people to pay too much money for a toy meter.
I guess for around 70us or so is well within its cost. It does look nice, although kind of toyish. I used to buy some Korean brands long time ago for around 100us and their design were way better. I don't know what is happening with many manufacturers that seems that they have toy designers for their multimeters! Don't they try to at least imitate the looks of brands like Fluke or Brymen? They even look solid and serious. And their displays so nice you really enjoy to work with them.
Yes big aliens with big fingers and sharp fingernails. They did however give me a tour of their ship, it was decorated in a mid seventies mirror ball disco theme, not my thing really but im a pushover for anything retro....seriously as Paul says this is a low voltage only meter with minimal input protection - but for $80-! Im not a Dave Jones meter snob and I love budget meters much as the next guy, but its way overpriced for its build and there are MANY much better quality options on the market for $80. Just to name a few I can get Greenlees, entry level Flukes, Extechs, and more.
I would like to see all measurements speed comparisons and real life voltage measurement when you have high frequency powerful magnetic fields around, these Anangs go crazy when you measure near high power impulse transformers, inductors.
Its an evaluation with opinions, not advertising. I ignore the opinions. Fact, for the price a few bucks more you can have a Fluke, but don’t slam it as Advertising because you can’t ignore his opinions.
I think he did a good job telling us about the meter and what he liked and didn’t like. You have all the information to make up your own mind. As for me I think the meter is to high in price and is not for me.

Does the buzzer work in the diode test mode if the probes touch each other? or beeps only in the circuit check mode?
Way too expensive for a hobby meter, 40000 count is nice but i dont think its worth 3 times the price of the 19999 count anneng

What about the PTC near the fuse isn't that an input protection?
I wonder if continuity reads slowly because of the high count; time lag.

The banana plugs are from Amazon. And the fuses are HRC.

I'd say it's essentially an Aneng. I don't think it's worth 80 bucks. The analog scale moves in step with the changes of the digits. Useless.
