This is definitely one of my favorites as well brother. I am loving the new versions as well but however I will miss the harmonizing guitar solos. It is my favorite thing in music from Megadeth to Stryper to now Nemophila. I love how Hazuki & Haraguchi are stepping up tho. I am dying to see them & BandMaid live for the 1sr time & The Warning again. Great reaction Joel🍺
As you might expect from this "live studio" version, the quartet arrangement of this banger really works in a live setting. Like...REALLY works. Absolute fire a month or so ago at Klub Counter Action (a small venue here in Sapporo). Oiran might be my favorite, too (and Nemo are my favorite band...anywhere)...but Man, that's a tough call. Revive, Zen, Life, Monsters, Rise...and more. Some are so different - since Nemophila are maybe the most versatile band in metal - that it kinda gets into apples vs oranges territory and depends on my mood.
I only found out about them early this year, so I'm a little biased toward the 3rd album (with Ama-te-ras being my favorite track off of it) That being said, Oiran is my favorite song off the 2nd album. It's kind of hard to pick a favorite with them as all their albums are really good start-to-finish. As for this version of the song, I like the that the Bass is more prominent with the band going ahead as a 4-piece. This kind of makes me look forward to the next song they are releasing.
I think they put extra effort into Oiran. The text is about royal concubines, what power they have and what pleasures they give. Its a woman empowerment song and sensual.
Def in my top 3 but its so hard to pick just one .I do know that the soloes in Oiran got me to get a 7 string well make one LOL now its the one i play the most so versatile and the guitar work blew me away .Hazuki has re-wrote most of it now for one guitar.
Very cool to seeing the Nemophila studio jams. My favourite is either Revive or Oiran both awesome heavy tracks, still have to listen their latest album though.
