I pray you get more wedding shoots and survive financially with the looming economic crisis this year. Theres not enough of educational content on how to take candid pictures out there. Thank you. I hope you get more viewers and subscribers soon
Couldn’t agree more! The first hour and first location was such an “awkward” interaction - once we hit the second location, found common interest and a wardrobe change, they were more comfortable and the photos were stunning
I was initially shocked at how long you said you spent on an engagement shoot and then I realised that I always meet a couple for a coffee and a chat about their wedding for about an hour before I even get a camera out of the bag, so I’m with you.
This was SUCH a valuable video, especially for an introvert, and the photos are amazing! Would love to learn more about hybrid shooting/shooting video too :)
You take photos of the couple at f2 or lower, but how can you keep both of them in focus? If I shoot at 2.8 and the guy is behind the girl his face is not in focus anymore.
Thank you for the quick reply. I feel like I having having to have too quick of a shutter speed when it’s bright - shooting with a D750 / & D7500. Not quite there yet to shoot mirrorless.
Wow, I almost choked when you said 3 to 4 hours, but I’m doing a surprise proposal so I was gonna give him 30 minutes after that just to gather some pictures but yeah you’re talking post proposal….
I don't shoot the full 4 hours. It's really to give me and the couple wiggle room for multiple locations and outfit changes. The average couple ends up shooting for maybe close to 2 hours if you count the travel between locations.
Some nice tips in here especially about the engagement tips. But yes would like to learn more about hybrid shooting.
Sounds great. I'll make sure to make a video on that.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. I hope to keep putting out educational content for a long time!

Always. Once you move past that first hour everything is so much better.

Extremely good ideas. I especially love the home and coffee shop, etc. locations for additional and unique images. Thanks so much for sharing!!

Exactly. Even just 1.5 hours is better than an hour. A little something to break the ice.
I would love to see you do a hybrid session and learn your tips!
Coming soon!
Great tips! Would love to see a bts of how you get hybrid content at an engagement shoot and seamlessly incorporate it in with your regular shots!

The person at 9:30 moving out of the way, far in the distance.
Do you use an ND filter when shooting outside under a bright sunny day.
Only if I'm going to hybrid shoot. If I'm just taking photos I won't use an ND filter.

4 hours? What are you shooting at that time? This is insane advice.

The couple is tired of pictures after an hour😢
It depends on the couple. I’ve rarely had couples who are tired after an hour. Honestly I’ve had some couples who want to shoot the full 4 hours.
Very detailed video! I feel more confident now. Thanks!
Happy to hear it. Have a great engagement season!
