😊You're my make up superhero!! I don't know how you get all these videos out so quickly but it is so very much appreciated! I don't even know what I'd do wo your reviews, swatches and advice. I'd feel much less confident what to shop for sure 😅
Thank you for going over these so thoroughly. I think everyone wants to see more customization from Hourglass. I’d love to see singles come in refills and fit into these palettes. Thank you.
@@LexiJong I bought the buffer and have all the other dragon brushes but not the large powder brush. The buffer is great for polishing and apply blush, softly. Is the large powder brush a must have or nice to have?
Lexi you look beautiful and fresh this morning! Thanks you for all your hard work purchasing, swatching, and filming for us to see and make informed decisions.🙂❤👏👏👏
I have seen a lot of Hourglass palette reviews, but I still learned new things from you. You always have such wonderful and thorough videos! I got the Backstage highlighting palette and I love it, but now I may get the eyeshadow, too.
Since Hourglass started to listen, I would love to have all pans magnetic in those palettes, so we could be able to choose our favourite shades from all the palettes we have and create a perfect one we take on our vacation. Fully customisable 6 pans palette with option to repurchase those shades we run out would be my dream come true.
Thank you for reviewing this Dior release, and also thank you for introducing Fude Bobo! I really enjoy their Chikuhodo collabs and am looking forward to what they'll make :-D
For the hourglass palettes, I so appreciate you swatching them on your face individually. Most reviews I’ve seen have the shades built up on top of each other and I know a lot of us just won’t wear them that way. Sometimes, I just want to wear a blush or bronzer separately. Thanks for your review ❤
Fantastic review Lexi ❤ All the information about Hourglass and all the products in the collection. Perfection. Thank you. Now I know exactly what I want from their collection this year. Thank for the code.
Yay!!! Love you’re going to review these. Hourglass was so slow. I placate orders same day, the one I paid expected on, took 10 days. I agree that the boxes and bags were really overpriced … ❤keep the truth coming! So happy! You’re going to show me how you use it all! I got the Dior too xx
I bought the dragon palette during the Sephora sale and I LOVE the divine finishing powder. I wish they sold it separately. It's the first powder that made me think WOW
Thank you, Lexi! I really do appreciate the swatches of everything. It's so difficult when looking at the swatches on some Instagram accounts (was looking at the upcoming Dior holiday quints), and they look *so* different!
Such superb content. Lots of work went into this. By the way the YSL unconforming taupe is brilliant. Currently at Macy’s on line. Works well with lots of other shadows. A new favourite. Thanks for all you do.
I always look forward to your latest video, even if I know I’m not really interested in the product. You just make it fun and I ALWAYS learn something new. I just know you will steadily rise to become a You Tube superstar. No one reviews palettes and compares swatches as well as you do Lexi! Have a great weekend! P.S. looking very pretty today
Lexi, such a great review on these two very anticipated collections!! I really enjoyed the detail and swatches I watched the video a couple of times. Your video helped me decide which Hourglass palette. I was on the fence whether to purchase and I collect them every year. Then you helped me decide which palette I wanted to purchase. And for the Dior collection I collect them too and was undecided because of how cool toned the palette. You did a stellar job in comparing the three Hourglass palettes and comparing the bronzer and blushes on your face. Thank you for getting the products so quickly and reviewing them with such detail! You’re the best! Have a great weekend!! 😊🌺
Hi Lexi, that Dior Backstage collection in tandem with the Hourglass Lotus red blush is absolutely stunning on you!! They are definitely your colours. I love different elements from each Hourglass palette but if I had to choose one it would be Evil Eye due to the marbled blushes. I love that red blush from Lotus though and the mauve blush from Dragon. The Evil Eye clean white aesthetic is growing on me as much as I love dragons and flowers. Thank you for all the details, comps, try ons and more, and I'm sorry the dragon box wasn't made more sturdy considering you had to pay for it. ❤❤
I’m glad someone else was excited about the Dior Backstage release. I love how balanced it is, the eye palette, it feels like a perfect travel palette for me. It has fun colors and subtle colors. Thanks for your thorough and thoughtful reviews. I don’t see many comparison reviews anymore sadly. Thank you for taking the time to do them.
Lexi- Thank you for this review! I’m loving the Dragon & Evil Eye palettes (I customized the evil eye color story with the Lotus packaging) that I just received ❤. I planned to just get one but couldn’t resist as HG is always one of my favorite holiday releases. Totally agree with you on the gift boxes! Designs are beautiful but I wish they’d use sturdier materials or at least pack them so they don’t arrive dented 😏
😍Yes for Dior. The palette is stunning!!! What a beauty. I do like the peach, blue and pink highlighters too. I'd definitely get use out of those. The glitter white 😅😅maybe as inner corner or topper. I see why you like the medium Hourglass😊the blush shades are versatile and interesting & I can see the bronzer is cooler. Last years options seemed uninspired. this year's medium is quite exciting! That's how I wished the Chanel Les Beiges face palette had been.
Thanks Lexi! I am an avid watcher of beauty TH-cam videos and yours are always my favorites. I picked up both the eyeshadow and highlighter palettes in this year's Backstage collection and I think you've convinced me I need that lip maximizer as well. I also picked up the Hourglass Dragon palette and am still considering the Evil Eye one as well. Thank you so much for your very thorough reviews and swatches as always. So helpful!
Thank you so much Lexi for the review on the Hourglass holiday palettes and the Dior Backstage eyeshadow palette and highlighter palette. They are all so beautiful. I love the evil eye palette and lotus palette and trying to decide between the two, but think the evil eye would be most appropriate for me. Such a beautiful collection of products. You look amazing Lexi!! ❤
Hi Lexi !! You are looking lovely in the purple shadow . It’s the Dragon that catches my eye and good for my colouring too ❤ thanks for an amazing review and swatches 🤗
Hi Lexi, thank you for your review! I love the look of the 2 blushes in the Lotus Palette and was wondering if you found their application and finish true to the refined, diffused Hourglass finish that we normally see with their pink blushes. I have the Suqqu Melting Powder Blush in 07 which is a deeper berry that looks similar to Red 0 of the Lotus Palette. Maybe because it's a stronger color, I find the Suqqu can look patchy if I'm not careful when applying. Hoping we don't have this issue with the Red 0. I love the finish of the Hourglass pink blushes and hope they've been able to achieve the same finish with the newer blush shades in the Lotus Palette!
The blushes are a bit more pigmented so it's a bit more challenging to see the diffused look of them on my skintone but I think on a deeper skintone, that finish would be more evident. I think it's always a bit more challenging to apply the deeper colors without looking patchy but what can help is first dipping your brush in translucent powder. Shake off any excess so you aren't really changing the pigmentation level but this helps prime the brush so that the pigments adhere evenly. Or you could just put a bunch of the actual blush on your brush and remove the excess but that can be a bit more overwhelming if you don't remove enough. I know for me, when I use the lighter blushes I use more product on my brush but I go in more cautiously with the deeper shades and that can affect how it applies. I hope this helps!
Thank you for demoing and reviewing the new Hourglass palettes and the new Dior Backstage collection - and featuring your magnificent Koyudo Dragon brushes (thanks to your influence I have the 3D and the angled brushes and I love them). I really want the new Backstage eye palette to pair with the cool one from last year - I just hope it will be available here in Canada (Dior has pulled out of one major retailer - that had been carrying Dior for almost 50 years!) and the Canadian Dior website rarely includes any of the LE or Backstage collections. I don’t know what’s up with Dior overall. Rihanna is the new “face” of Dior fragrances - in terms of style, the pairing is odd; I think it’s even more odd that Rihanna is competing against her own Fenty Beauty fragrance line. Also, the promo picture barely looks like Rihanna (long wavy blonde hair, light-medium skin tone, light eyes - ?!!). If Dior wants to be truly inclusive, the promo pics should not “whiten” the appearance of a person with a deep skin tone.
I was disappointed in the dragon brush quality. The metal handle was shorter and the brush heads less dense and thinner than my original double ended brush. I returned my Dragon palette a few days ago. The powders were too similar to last years Jellyfish and the only thing I liked about it was the peach blush. $90 for a blush is not sensible. But I look forward to trying the Dior Celestial glow face palette! It looks stunning along with the eyeshadows on you.
Very interested in the Dior back stage this year. Not sure if I'll get any of the HG palettes. Would love the red shade in Lotus as a single. I like 2-3 shades in each palette but it's not enough for me to buy one. If only we could mix & match pans.
I am currently still waiting for my 2 palettes and the dragon brush! I customized to have the medium/dragon and deep/evil eye. I passed on the light one because I bought the jellyfish last year and I don’t need so many light finishing powders. I do love all of the new blushes, and the deep palette is for sure the most interesting to me in terms of shades and versatility and I can’t wait to try them all. You did a great job swatching everything. I just found your channel and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your content. ✨😊✨
Hi lexi glad you see you purchased the brush. Do you like it? Lots of people says it feels very cheap? And not worth the money? Does it feel like your other hourglass brushes I love hourglasses normally. 😊
I really only have one other hourglass brush which is the same shape as this one. Mine's pretty old and I rarely use it. I think it's pretty similar but not really worth $52 unless you love the Dragon or Evil Eye design. I think there are better brush options for the price so this for me was all about the handle.
@@LexiJong thank you Lexi for your quick and honest opinion. I appreciate it. I do own a brush that looks similar that I bought years ago and me too hardly ever use so thanks to you I am reminded of it. And can save my money on that I love the design but have other things I would rather purchase with the advent seizoen coming up and Christmas shopping. Thanks for your help and posting this video. ❤️
Hello Lexi! Thank you for the review and swatches. The Dior collection is pretty. The eyeshadow palette and the maximizer being my favorites. The maximizer is on its way now but haven’t decided if the eyeshadow palette is something I would use much but it is beautiful. I have other brands that I’m interested in and trying to be more frugal in my spending. My question regarding the icy blue eyeshadow is how it compares to the icy blue shade in the Mimirose palette from Dior?
I used your code to purchase the Dragon before you even put this review up. Wish I had waited because I do not like the peachy tones - even the mauve turns peach on me. I say this every year, but I really wish they would let us customize our pans. I would keep the powders of the Dragon, the bronzer and blushes from the Evil Eye plus the Red O from the Lotus and skip a highlighter altogether. Sadly I am going to return the Dragon. I am still using my Jellyfish which has the cooler tones I prefer, other than its warm bronzer 🤷🏻♀

The LM is lighter and softer, a bit more neutral. I think it depends what kind of look you wear more often. The LM leans a bit more blue than the Dior. I think both are beautiful palettes but you can get deeper eye looks more easily with the Dior.

16:05 yeah that would be great I would love to be able to pick my 6 squares and even as singles out be great too! Bc I’m not buying a $90 pallet for the one shade I want lol 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 thanks for sharing these!!!!
Sorry about your box, disappointing.. Helpful vid, thank you. I've seen a few, each is nudging me to buy my first H Holiday Palette (I've single finishing powders and blushes). No-one seems to have heard of 'Dream Light'. Maybe it's just a mistake to say it's an existing shade by Hourglass. Only Ethereal light would be as light (and that has micro glitters). I think I like the Evil Eye tin and contents are calling to me the most, so I'll just get the original middle shade combo. The blushes look great. Not sure if the finishing powder is too deep. Maybe the peach undertone will be more forgiving than my Diffused Light which (also a bit deep - and yellow). I think Mood Light is even deeper but adds a nice rosy glow so it actually works. I really LOVE your idea of a fully customizable palettes, totally realistic and , like you, I think they'd sell more too. . Thanks for the coupon code (have to wait until the end of the month). I won't be tempted by the box 😆! Love Dior. On a makeup reduction plan, just the one Holiday treat until December, Thinking about Danessa Myricks. Lightworks.
Thank you! If you get the medium color palette, please let me know what you think of it. I think the powder is useable with a light hand. The DM lightworks palette is a worthy choice!
