Verrrrryyyy helpful. A lot of people jump into art and thats cool but if its not filed and uniformed it just spoils everything. Structure and shaping is my priority over art FIRST
ok - I grabbed a file - replayed - and I am so happy this video came up - I knew I was doing something wrong when my hand was starting to cramp after filing my own 10 nails, thank you so much for Nail School - oh and I LOVE my new dappen dish I bought from YNNails Australia - it is solid as a rock - doesn't move - LOVE IT!! xx
I love Fridays, I get my coffee and watch Young Nails. I've done my own nails for years and am glad to see that I'm filing correctly lol. I love all the information you share! Keep up the amazing work!!
Thank God for yall...im a young mother who has always wanted to do nails, but unfortunately lack the time for school..i pranctice alot at home,i know one day i will be in tech school, but for now you all have really been a blessing with helping me learn proper techniques and trick i would have never thought of...I truly truly am thank for you all taking the time to teach such a beautiful craft to us...i couldnt be more grateful!
I know there's different types of files and buffer maybe y'all could make a video about when and when not to use certain files and buffers. I've bought bad quality nail files that did not last at all, how can you tell a good file from bad?❤
I use all Young Nail's files, LOVE THEM!! Don't even try to find anything else out there. For the price (which is an awesome price) These files are the very best!!
Always so much good information! Refresher courses are good for anyone and any stage in their career. Many thanks guys!!!! Side note: Sooooo I've been waiting to put in a order, cover blush and cover peach 85g jars even 45g if I can get my hands on em but they haven't been in stock for some time (cover blush sold out in all sizes) 😭😭😭 I'm dying here PLZ PLZ restock the goods lol!
Being able to supplement what I learn at school with your videos is so helpful! I would love a video that talks about making the apex and how big it needs to be for the length of the nail. Mine always end up pretty much without an apex because I'm trying to avoid a bulky nail. Thank you! Will you guys be in Sacramento on the 17th for the Nail Pro show? I saw some companies are also doing classes on Monday the 18th and right now the list says there are "more to come". I was looking at the Light Elegance class because they aren't teaching gels in my school but if Young Nails is doing a class (any kind 😀) too I'd much rather take a class through you. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! I’m not a pro and only do my own nails, but the techniques you so fabulously teach are making a world of difference on my manicure!
Ty. .. Ty... Ty 4 this video guy's. Def needed a touch up on filing. Another great video from the nail gods. Appreciate all the amazing tips and tricks 👌 Ty 4 sharing 👌
I struggled with filing and I still do at times. I am getting better but I love how you guys explain this my trainer never did...Thanks Greg and Habib...
OMG! I remember the fonzie you are making me feel old LOL and I from Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK. :-) I must be weird I am a lefty, but file with both hands, but sometimes I think I still haven't done to perfection. I will take on board what you have just shown and see if it works....Happy Days x :-)
Great info! I sat here with my file and held it as Greg said and realized how I'd been holding it incorrectly. I'm only a DIY-er doing my own nails at home, but shaping is my biggest problem. Hopefully this will help!
@@youngnailsinc I have a question - I decided to order some files from YN and of course the glitters on the site caught my eye. I wanted to order a pot of Rock Star but there's no way to add it to my cart. Is it sold out?
This video may have very well just saved my sanity!! I’m learning how to do my own acrylic nails completely on my own, mostly just for fun but also to see if it’s something I may want to do without putting a bunch of money into classes and risk it being a waste. I have been struggling so much with filing, I don’t have an e-file yet so it’s all hand files and it takes forever to get done with even one nail it feels like. This video has some very basic tips in it that I don’t think any other tutorial video has even touched on and it has made filing and shaping my nails soooo much easier. The in-fill video was super helpful as well. Thank you so much! Y’all rock!
Awesome thank you! Do you think you could do a video on shaping the various shapes like coffin, stilleto or almond? Thanks and I need to order your files!
i LOVE your work, can you also do a video using gel polish? i have a couple and i follow the directions but im not exactly sure what i'm doing wrong, i guess i need to see in order to understand, hope to meet you one day :)
Hello, thank you very much for everything you share with us! Would please let me know the brand of the training hand you use? I would like to order something similar for my practice. Thanks a lot!
I struggle with the thickness of my acrylic. i tend to file it too thin toward the cuticle but leave it too thick at the tip out of fear of making it too thin and prone to breaking. I would really like to know what is too thick, what is too thin, and what is correct? (i should tell you that I'm doing the acrylics on myself and the tips are barely past the tips of my fingers) could you guys do a nail and then cut it in half length wise to show how thick the acrylic should be at each part of the nail?
Wow.. I was not expecting Men to teach me how to correctly file my Nails 😂🤣👏🏾👏🏾 Awesome 👏🏾😄 Does anyone have any suggestions on good AFFORDABLE files to buy???
YoungNailsInc ooo you have your own files. Ofc. I’m so late ....😑 lol. Great! 👍🏾 TYSM I will check it out. I thought the products were for professionals only when I was checking out the e file. Hopefully normal people can buy the regular nail files 😊
I find that I over file the side wall on the natural part of the nail after I sculpt it, if that makes sense. Like the product that is on the natural nail because I don't know how thin or thick that has to be. So I always over file it because it looks too thick and then they break. How thick does the product need to be on the side walls of the natural nail? Just to clarify, I'm not making a notch when filing or missing product to make the notch. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about filing the sides where the apex is on the natural part of the nail after I have applied product and start filing. I really hope you know what I'm trying to get at lol. 😅😣
There called trainer hands. I'd suggest you buy a good brand not just a complete cheapo. There absolutely is a difference. Young Nails does sell them but if you want cheaper, the cheapest one I've bought(that actually works very well and is the one i use weekly) is from the website link below. They also sell clear tips for it. Which I highly recommend. beauticom.com/practice-hand-finger-tips/

Hi guys thanks so much for the awesome tips on how to file, u guys are amazing, and keep up the Great Awesome Work😍💅💅💅💅
Happy Friday, Great video.
Do you prefer beginners using a hand file to practice with and then work they way up to a e-file ?
You can start with a hand file, yes. Not a bad way to get going.
Do you feel that the brand and shape is a file makes a big difference when you finish file?
very helpful video thanks for sharing.
Love it! Thanks
Can I use the Mechanical Hand with the Dipping Powder System? If so, where can I view a Tutorial? Thank you!
Cool, thanks for the lesson.

Do you de-bulk with an e-file before file finishing with a hand file?
I find I don't know how to move my client's hands around so I can e-file their gel coat off. Practice hands move differently than a client. Any tips?

What practice hand do you use??
Great video
Great!
Wish there was a love button
I have some of my clients that love their nails really think what do I do to not get so tired? I feel it very tiring filing thick nails.
We recommend using an e file so you can help with the fatigue.

I was wondering when it comes to nail files is there any difference with the black files from the white zebra files? And if there is can you explain please?
Ps. I love watching all your videos thanks for always answering my questions, you guys are the best!!
The difference in files is in the grit. Lower the # the coarser the file. Ex: 100 grit = very coarse, 180 = fine
Can young nails files be sanitized and reused?
Do u re use files on different people?
👌👌❤️❤️❤️❤️
Do we have to efile and hand file?
For optimum shaping yes
I just started in a nail salon I'm just confused how to hold the nail file while shaping natural nail I doing it how I was taught but my boss say I'm doing it wrong I need help loo
