    ☝️ Important Concept
    Increased vocal resonance, bronchophony, whispering pectoroliquoy, aegophony are similar things and all are found in consolidation.
    Normally what happens is, when I ask the patient to speak let say 99 in tandem, and keep steth over the chest, we can hear 99 through steth but it is not loud.
    Now let say patient has consolidation and now I have kept the steth over the area of consolidation.
    Now in patient of Consolidation
    1. I ask the patient to speak 99 loudly. If through the steth I can hear 99 Loudly, it is increased vocal resonance
    2. I ask the patient to speak 99 loudly. If through the steth I can hear 99 loudly and CLEARLY also, it is bronchophony
    3. Rather than asking to speak loudly, I ask patient to WHISPER 99, now if I can hear it clearly/loudly, it is whispering pectoroliquoy
    4. Now I ask patient to speak E. But on steth I heard A. This is egophony.
    1,2,3 is due to increased fluid in lung increase the sound transmission, this increasing amplitude.
    4 has occured bcz fluid medium has changed the quality of the sound produced by vocal cords

    Explaination at its peak...
    Just awesome, if we understand this concept of physics behind respiratory system..
    It will be easier and intriguing to read pulmonology 😍❤️💐
    Gratitude + Love to Dr Keshav Sir
    Great day 💐💫✨

    So why does collapsed lung have decreased vocal resonance? collpased lung have less air, isn't sound should travel better in collapse lung and increase in resonance?

    Sir what will happen in case of pulmonary edema ... Will the vocal fremitus increase or decrease?? Please tell

    • @OneStopMedicine
      @OneStopMedicine ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Will increase as conduction through fluid is more than in air

  • @adlesal24

    What about vocal resonance in fibrosis😢?

    • @adlesal24

      Any answer doctor?

    • @benjaminazumah9833
      @benjaminazumah9833 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@adlesal24 vocal resonance in pulmonary fibrosis will increase due to increased lung tissue/density so transmission of the vibration through the tissue increases.
