You aren't missing out on anything with the carbon ti chainrings aswell. They shift significantly worse then shimano. Your best bet would be a set of lightweight ROTOR chainrings for example. Swapping out the crankset for a lighter one helps aswell
Rotational weight is where any money should be spent first: tpu tubes then tires then wheels, crank arms and rear cassette. You’ll feel the difference with every pedal stroke.
Unless you go for superlightweight carbon bottle cage (like some under 10g) you can achieve similar or in many cases lower weight with aluminium ones. Supacaz Fly Cage weights 18g which is lower than those carbon cage which you showed and there are many plastics cages on the market in this 30g area.
If you're going to forgo shimano chainrings, the best shifting ones, you might as well forgo the shimano crankset altogether in favor of a lighter one with a 30mm spindle.
In a cutting weight spree video search I found interesting the seatpost thing I did it myself like a year ago and almost nobody mentions it that much. Also tpu tubes, and bartape are other options. Seems I am getting to the bottom of this since I dont see much more of where to cut weight without expending loads of money 😅
@@chrisgarwood2237 I find it pretty weird that people are convinced to spend 1k+ usd to lose a couple of grams from their bike while the bike is already pretty light. The industry is just messed up. Do you even need a light bike?
Don't even downsize the bike GPS, replace it with a Beeline. You get far, far better navigation and still upload to strava. All you missout on are power meter/heart rate monitor connections etc, which most people don't need anyway.
Nahhh you missed out on the biggest 2 savings for the least amount of money. 1: Ridenow TPU innertubes, saves 200 grams for the whole bike. 2 galfer rotors, they are the same weight as carbon ti but only 25% of the price.
Don't worry about weight.... we leave that to racers....... its marketing... light bike feels nice.. but it doesn't make faster when u do leisure rides.😊
I'm pretty certain my morning dump is 300-400g 🤣 and it's free!
I don't see why it's an either/or choice between taking a dump and doing other things.

def this! my bike came with stock 25c and it wasss QUICK but when i switched it up to cheap heavy 28c it accelerates slower now.
Rim brake crew know how to save weight...❤

Is this vid a joke? Just diet for two weeks and you're down 1 kg if youre doing good.
Do both and your down 1.4Kg, why does it have to be either or ?

The video says make your bike lighter. Personal weight is not part of this conversation.
There is also a point at which losing weight always comes with a loss of power
Rotational mass does not matter more than mass in general. Just go weight / money.
Does anyone know how much weight one can save going from 170mm cranks to 165mm?
Instead of spending money on lightweight carbon parts use the cash and make a bike trip, or a biking holiday or spend it on a coaching program. Cheers
Lay off the cakes and beer 😂
I heard Dura Ace cassettes don't last very long.

Buy a rimbrake bike instead?
From where? Unless you want something really low end or someone else used cast off. No one makes a rim brake bike worth buying anymore.
So long in the tooth.
Rim for the win pal
Plenty of caad 10, 12, and 13's around which should be a low risk 2nd hand purchase (just inspect the fork steerer before you buy)
@@Ryan.T89ever heard of Winspace?
I’ll be happy with 2kg saving -- off my belly !

They don’t have affiliate links for those hence it’s never going to be mentioned!
Don't buy a bike at all? Save money and weight in one clever move!
Get rid of the wheels.
Don’t forget its much more cheaper to loose some own weight then on the bike :)
Tubes
Has anyone here made a huffy lighter?
None of these given product's links works. 🤔
me with like over 15kg bike: 😮
doesn't matter unless you riding hills
@@richardggeorge exactly which is why I don't worry about it too much. 🙂

Silly.
Whyyyyy ???? Just loose a pound not 400 of them !!!
Why a light bike if you dont race anyone. 😮 use the extra cash on shoes
Because, its a fun thing that hobbyists decide to do?
Make bike from glas😂
