this song has been my crutch for the past week or so. my friend (who is also my ex) came to visit me this week, flying all the way from san francisco to the UK. the night before i was to pick him up, i was on the edge of having an anxiety attack. really felt like i wanted to listen to this, so i played it (with augment before it, of course). it soothed me instantly. it's like they put special magic frequencies in the song to calm you down. on the day, i was pretty nervous too because usually whenever i go to meet someone i know i have feelings for, i become extremely nauseous and sometimes even puke on the way to meet them. so, i listened to dementia again on the way there. i didn't get nauseous ONCE. that's insane, because it would happen every single time before then. a week later, today, i dropped him off at the airport. i miss him so much, it's actually painful and i've never felt emotional pain like it before. so, to cope, you can guess what i did. and indeed, this song helped me let it out. i can only imagine what's going to happen when i see ERRA live on march 13th.
Listened the song by accident because the title intrigued me.. The different stages of the songs takes you to a trip. Btw the new song snowblood is da bomb!
In the reflection of the water's stream, I watch the current carry me. Irresolute and indiscriminate, this liquid flux is transcendent. A birth to conquered memories of sentimental quintessence. Learning to let go of oneself converts grievance into lessons. Your innermost thoughts appear physically. Cataclysm is bound to everything. The event horizon; there is no escaping, inescapable. Light speeds, black holes, time lapse; we're unstable. To contemplate the unthinkable, break free from captivity. Envelope the atmosphere with magnetized waves of processed nerve activity. Bring me back to the river's edge to bathe in consequence. Future events colliding, spoken of in present tense. The event horizon; there is no escaping, inescapable. Light speeds, black holes, time lapse; we're unstable. Misplaced ideals provoke tension. There is no escaping it. Dementia in this dimension. Our neurologic fortitude has been broken through. All of the pieces once whole have shattered in contact with you. Dementia. In the reflection of the water's stream, I watch the current carry me away. Irresolute and indiscriminate, this liquid flux is transcendent. Carry me away.
I'm like those annoying single chicks with small pets, always shoving pictures of their pets in people faces saying how cute they are and what not. @@joeytocd Yes I have to agree. Moments of Clarity and Augment are really good at least for my taste. The different stages of the songs takes you to a trip. It connected with me through the lyrics and the emotional transitions from riff to chorus to solo to melody to heavy. These guys are great. One extra fan was added! Keep sharing that emotion.
Found this masterpiece album back in 2014, and this song still gives me goosebumps! Especially the outro solo
Erra has and always will be the best
I'm like those annoying single chicks with small pets, always shoving pictures of their pets in people faces saying how cute they are and what not. I am always going around with my headphones and throwing them on peoples heads and say, "Listen to this! It'll change your life" and play Augment->Dementia. You guys are freaking incredible. How about I buy us some drinks next time you guys do a show in Tampa? I know the best bar there.
Such an emotional masterpiece. Erra's best song IMO.
Jesus fucking christ. This album sets the bar. That solo is fucking beautiful.
6:22 I got goosebumps while driving my car, it actually hits. An amazing song! Such empowerment
I get chills every time I listen to this. So much respect for ERRA.
This song is truly amazing. It's huge, heavy, melodic and complex.
❤️
One of the greatest outros ever
This song is just fantastic! It swings you in every direction.
My favorite song from this album! Also i recently met my fiancee's neighbors and he turned out to have this album on vinyl and i had no idea we had such similar taste in music, was so cool to find out!
I've heard so much about Erra, but never got around to listening to them. This is the first song I've ever heard from them. Damn, I was missing out.
listening in 2020, fuck this brings me back. I get teary-eyed and crazy chills every time I hear this song.
the fade back in at 5:29 is just too much to handle.
4:35 is actually where the song starts in my mind!! the solo INSANE the drumming insane tbh this song holds a spot deep inside my heart!! Love even minute off it ERRA!! I've been through alot in life and when i found this i honestly felt a weight lifted from my shoulders no music NOTHING has come close (apart from misses and daughter ;) )
Very much agreed
Since i discovered metalcore in general my life is happier, long life to metal music
This is for me the best composition of Erra. This is Erra's masterpiece.
i try to search and find different bands just like ERRA. I keep searching and searching but nothing can come to the same amazingness as ERRA. This band stands out from all the other bands in my ears and they are a rarity in this world for such a beauty like ERRA to exist. every song they put out i can not get enough of, other bands i listen and then get tired of that band like 3 times but ERRA is never boring too me. Just perfect band to get high too and amazing everything in it. much love.
Love this band everything by them kicks rendor the void is one of my all-time faves but I also love periphery there shit is amazing to try lune for emotion and then try the way new things go awesome songs
Ever tried Breakdown of Sanity? And did you find any other band similar to Erra? I liked Valhalla and Ultimata from their new album.
That's true man.
I play them on my phone everyday since I discovered them on spotify.
Coming 2 years after haha just to propose you to listen to Novelists - souvenirs. What you said about erra reminds me of me with Novelists. Cheers !
Stand alone complex, Novelists, BDoS, and early northlane
Just heard this gem for the first time yesterday and boy was I missing out. Between the guitar work and the vocals its quite a masterpiece.
God damn. This has to be one of the greatest albums of all time
Finally 1M,, Masterpiece of all time..
Top satu, Gak pernah tergantikan!
Here in the last hours of 2018, still couldn't think of a better song to close out the year 🎸
This is the sonic recreation of everything I love in music.
Holy shit this song slaps.
Ive been listening to this album since my early highschool freshman year to my almost 1 year from ending highschool. This has followed me in everything whole album just resonates so heavily with me.
I only got into ERRA recently and this is my favourite song by them, especially the ending solo (... ohhhhoohhhhohhhh ...).
Welcome, welcome! I discovered them at the time they released their Moments of Clarity EP, but actually got into them during the Drift album cycle. Now that I've heard all of their existing releases, I declare Augment my favorite. I think you'll enjoy this entire album, if you haven't heard it already. 🤘🏻
@@joeytocd Yes I have to agree. Moments of Clarity and Augment are really good at least for my taste. With their newer stuff my impression is that they have dialed back slightly with melodies in favor of many breakdowns. Also the mix especially of "Neon" is weird as the guitars are almost hidden in some tracks which is a shame.
@@syntheee Impulse and Augment are the bands best work imo, Eye of God is a cool ass single though
My life feels alot better now that I discovered this! Jesus Christ this song is so perfect!
Why do I just cry sometimes hearing this song?
All these years later and this song is still beautiful
This is just the best song of ERRA!! 5:31 forward is just...WOW!!
Frederico Holtreman that solo gives me goosebumps every fucking time.
V1nsanity plus when he breaks into the vocals after... perfect.
+Frederico Holtreman Check out Polyphia - Aviator , or Delusions of Grandeur - Reclamation, they also got some awesome solos that needs to be heard by more people.
+V1nsanity same here, as well as the the vocals, the feeling of that part is one of a kind
Hell nah, only from 4:34, that ambient interlude simply way too good to be forgotten. Otherwise, yeah, you're right, bro
this is one of those songs you find new things on after listening to it again and again
I cannot believe how good this band is... Excellent in every way.
Where has this been all my life?
This band is so fucking amazing, best lyrics ever.
