    Lyrics:
    Our hands were holding our fate, but they grew tired. Everything we knew came crashing down in waves of fire.
    Strange hands over mouth and in hair. Red eyes from the water, gasping for air, rebirth.
    Blurred vision disrupts perception of this present state. Made new in the chilling currents that carry me away.
    Follow your heart and leap from the cliffs. Close your divine eyes to reason. Let inertia move you. Cling and be clung to. Speak and be spoken to. How beautiful you find yourself. Remove this scourge from where we dwell. You will be found in a dark place and somewhere through time and space.
    Adorned with purity yet blessed with knowledge, contradicting what I've been taught.
    Upheld in a pale light that burns my skin.
    I am the distorted one. I am a prisoner in this body, bound and chained to flesh. I am the distorted one. I am a prisoner in this body.
    A mirror reflecting an honest rendition. A faction following a faithless tradition. Your own body renamed religion.
    Our hands were holding our fate, but they grew tired. Everything we knew came crashing down.
    You will be found in a dark place and somewhere through time and space.
    A mirror reflecting an honest rendition. A faction following faithless tradition.
    I am the distorted one. I am a prisoner in this body, bound and chained to flesh. Rebirth.

    Still High. Erra is the best band I've discovered in the last 5 years. Impulse and Augment is up there with Periphery I and II. Augment arguably is the best Album start to finish and this track signifies how on top of their game Erra was. The fact Errs haven't and may never reach these heights, the fact they achieved this vocal, lyrical and musical level with a track like this is a joy to behold and experience. Maybe one day, this is matched with an ending solo even better than Alan's efforts. Alex Bellew, you be never wrote the drums better ...

      Their issue is the fact that they couldn't sound like the record when playing live. That goes a long way for a band. Anyone can sound good in the studio, but playing live is a totally different game. Periphery on the other hand, who you're comparing them to, sounds like the record live, if not, better because live live energy beats studio energy.

    • @kernelxsanders
      @kernelxsanders 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sarcasm4371 you'd be surprised. Best is subjective, but there are definitely bands who can record a record more proficiently, erra isnt a band that can record a band that sounds mostly like the final release because they're mostly studio production. Bands that require the least amount of fixing in the mix objectively are better at playing.

      If you like Erra you'll probably like Skyharbor - Illusion and Chaos. I think I like Erra better but Skyharbor is a close second favorite. Sometimes I prefer Skyharbor. I've been switching between these two bands for my work outs for the past couple of months. My 2 favorite bands.

    Ive heard people say this is classic metalcore yet imo it is was to melodic/symphonic to be classic metalcore. Classic metalcore to me is like killswitch engage, as i lay dying etc. id argue this is melodic metalcore. It still slaps.

    • @dino-nd2io
      @dino-nd2io ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, as you say classic metalcore could be As i Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Bullet for my Valentine (in its prime), Of mice and men, etc. ERRA has always been Progressive (with their own unique sound) or some kind of Technical Metalcore as Born of Osiris, Intervals, Monuments, Novelists, Crystal Lake, etc.

    • @MrPatrickbuit
      @MrPatrickbuit ปีที่แล้ว

      melodic metalcore is classic metalcore to me. Bands like Hopesfall, Missigs, Saints Never Surrender, Poison the Well, etc. Alan took huge inspiration from Hopesfall and Missigs for this album.
