@candymanjl The street car in the video is the same car that did the record run. Look closely at the street shots and you will see that it too has a cage. The fact that he was able to buy this from a dealer, drive it to the race and win his class in the same car is very impressive. This is the same car you can buy from any Porsche dealer. The only mods they make for the race are for safety.
@yerboogieman The GT2RS has a turbo. It makes it's peak power 6500 rpm and peak torque is in the 2250-5500 rpm range. It's not quite as rev happy as the naturally aspirated GT3 variants.
@SoftTeddyBear13, I think around $124k for the GT3 and $150k. US dollars. I've seen three GT3 RSs in showrooms and they each were $150k while the GT3, with options, can vary wildly in price (ceramic brakes, sat nav, upgraded seats, stereo upgrade, etc.).
It pains me in my heart to know, I will never drive such a machine, such engeneering perfection. Es ist einfach unglaublich, nicht vorzustellen, was ein bisschen metall in der richtigen form an emotionen hervorrufen kann! *Brumm Brumm*
@xxkilleroxx The Audi was set up just for that run so its really not a comparison between a race car and a production car. Check out the Pikes peak tacoma or Suzuki
this video is shot in exactly the same way as the original 1970-80s video with the peguet white rally. I think this video should have the same music as the other vid,it was really cool!
Reason wy its rpm sounds really low and seem like not going fast is cause of the exaust gt2s and tts have a very silence exaust! The gt3 comes loud stock
@thanasis518 i don't think so. He has to factor in much more safety than you would on a nice surface like the track. it's better to be slow, then to lose your life falling off pike's peak for a fraction of a second.
The only reason a 620HP Porsche would look "slow" is because it handles so unbelievably well that there's no drama. Also keep in mind that Walter Rohl's Audi is NOT street legal at all. This 911 was DRIVEN to the course and is 100% as it comes off the showroom floor. That is one nasty car.
There is only one GT2 RS in that video. Zwart got it at a dealership, drove it to the mountain and won his class with it. It is bone stock. The only mods were for safety, but the cage is in the street car too.
@joaomota92 GT2 RS: 620hp, 0-100km/h - 3,5 sec. VS. GT3 RS: 450hp, 0-100km/h - 4 sec. -so i am really shure, that the GT2 RS is faster on the track. PS: In between these two cars is the GT3 RS 4.0 with 500hp ;-)
@KiljimKing It shouldn't pain you, for maybe 2-300 dollars you can go to an organised event and drive it with a coach for like 20 minutes. Just make sure to call them first and ask if there are rev limitations because some of these organisers are scared to death you will crash it. Anyway have fun man. And remember owning one is even worse because you will get bored of it and then you will have nothing else to dream for.... Break that Piggy bank!
Amazing driving, there will be more of this when they pave the whole thing, no more dirt. It's a bit of a shame but the organizers are doing it because they feel there will be more participation in a tarmac rally which is true, not every car will need AWD.
@xxkilleroxx How the name of the car says,quattro, if you not know what that call, it calls so much like AWD, the GT2 RS had BWD, and the Audi is lighter. The Porsche dosen't looks slow, go buy glasses
wanna see the 2012 gtr, corvette zr1, viper acr and gt2 rs race on this Pikes Peak this shit well be good --->ANYONE AGREE WITH ME AND SEEE WHOS FASTER
Fantastic piece of driving! Fabulous footage/camera work!! Thrilling-just thrilling!! Well done, Jeff and the fantastic Porsche GT2 RS!!
well produced video. the glimpse of the hot manifold was a treat!
@candymanjl The street car in the video is the same car that did the record run. Look closely at the street shots and you will see that it too has a cage. The car just sounds so incredibly calm. No drama, just business.
@yerboogieman The GT2RS has a turbo. It makes it's peak power 6500 rpm and peak torque is in the 2250-5500 rpm range. It's not quite as rev happy as the naturally aspirated GT3 variants.

"You drove it out here! You drove it out here!" 3:15 Gets me every time.
@Bushby23
It's obviously installed for Pikes Peak as well as removing some parts they don't need for weight reduction.
@xxkilleroxx The Audi was set up just for that run so its really not a comparison between a race car and a production car. Check out the Pikes peak tacoma or Suzuki
@flxk96 thanks mate I honestly tought the gt3 rs was faster and I didnt knew about the 4.0 model. have a nice day :)
@GodlikeNL
You're right. The sound ain't as the good as the GT3RS one's, but the power is unbelivebale.
would the twin turbo engine be better than a natural aspirated engine towards the top of the peak?
Does anyone know what kinds of cameras were used to fill this? I'm guessing GoPro for the in car shots, but what else was used?
@12valvepower1
The same here!...What a Beautiful sound of a Type 912 Flat-12 Engine..
this video is shot in exactly the same way as the original 1970-80s video with the peguet
white rally. I think this video should have the same music as the other vid,it was really cool!
I would give anything to be in that car or drive it!
@porsche did will roege did this video for you? :)
whats the name of the song in the beginning
@xxkilleroxx How on earth does that look slow to you?
Pilot sport cup tires?
what is the name of the starting song?
how much are the gt3's?
@abody348 I read in a magazine that the gt3 rs was the fastest. but perhaps its already outdated ? thanks anyway sorry for my mistake.
is the plexiglass street legal??
thanks for not putting a background music porsche !
@VehoWorld the camare never dissapears.
Was it just me, or did the rollcage look a little more beefed up than standard? I cant say Im really familliar with the insides of a GT2 myself...
@VehoWorld wat u on u can clearly see the camera
@josebesat Of course !
Very cool. Congratulations!!
fell in love with this track playing it on Colin McRae DiRT and now i love it even more after seeing my favourite car destroy it
@joaomota92 wrong. 2RS was the fastest porsche ever made
PORSCHE mais que uma marca, mais que um carro, uma lenda.......
The video makes the Porsche look like it's just going on a short Sunday blast.
Reason wy its rpm sounds really low and seem like not going fast is cause of the exaust gt2s and tts have a very silence exaust! The gt3 comes loud stock
@Bambooben contour's for the in car.
beautiful pictures, but the editing is a bit too busy for my taste.
what a beautiful country. the only problem is the ridiculous speed limit lol
great ride
super wideo.
Didn't Roger Bannister have the best time on this course ?
Awesome, I wonder what a Audi R8 GT would do, being AWD and all would help in the dirt.
@ 2:57 dats sick !! I won't even dare to do it on my Need For Speed video gameing.....Jeff Zwart , u r da man !!
@thanasis518 i don't think so. He has to factor in much more safety than you would on a nice surface like the track. it's better to be slow, then to lose your life falling off pike's peak for a fraction of a second.
Why does it seem like he wasn't going that fast and his RPM's sounded really low?
The only reason a 620HP Porsche would look "slow" is because it handles so unbelievably well that there's no drama. Also keep in mind that Walter Rohl's Audi is NOT street legal at all. This 911 was DRIVEN to the course and is 100% as it comes off the showroom floor. That is one nasty car.

@ChechenFSer It is the most powerfull production car that Porsche ever built
@ori599gtb or walter rohrl with the audi quattro s1
@joaomota92 GT2 RS: 620hp, 0-100km/h - 3,5 sec. VS. GT3 RS: 450hp, 0-100km/h - 4 sec.
-so i am really shure, that the GT2 RS is faster on the track.
PS: In between these two cars is the GT3 RS 4.0 with 500hp ;-)
The US of A is driving hell. Have you seen the 25 mph speed limit sign on THAT road?
Awesome!
truely amazing!
@PorschephileRS
Agree!
MY FAVORITE PORSCHE SO FAR I'M WATCHING ONE ON EBAY !!!!
Go Jeff.
Next year? 11 min Production car barrier broken.
good job, porsche and driver
@bigfootblue
It looks slow because the car is very composed. Not as exciting but the results speak for themselves.
@ganymedeIV4 where's Top Gear when we need them
@fowls61 no its german.
doesn't quite have the emotion of last years film that seemed a bit more raw and real :)
impressive!
1:37 look at the fucking headers damn it !
@candymanjl Its still a street legal car, last year he was in a cup car.
I would have trouble driving on that road period. Let alone on the edge of traction!
He was not sticking to the 25mph speed limit!
I worship this car! :)
I would simply poop myself.
@bigfootblue this is not the track
Nice..
RIP gravel sections =(
Marketing. If you had a 911 in the 80s and wanted a new one you could get a new one and it would look similar to your 80s 911. Also it is tradition.
anyone else say, "OH MY GOSH" or anything along that line at around 2:16?
By 10 sec ?? WTF ??!?!?
No Drama. Just Quick. The GT2 RS.
I've got my 911 Turbo on order :)
@SoftTeddyBear13 Around $155,000
Amazing driving, there will be more of this when they pave the whole thing, no more dirt. It's a bit of a shame but the organizers are doing it because they feel there will be more participation in a tarmac rally which is true, not every car will need AWD.
2:54 Speed Limit? .... YEAAHHH RIIGHHTTT!!
Of that list, only the GT-R would have a real chance against the GT2 RS.
@Porsche
Leider macht kein Porsche eine solche Strecke mehr als 5 mal mit unter diesen Bedinungen.
that drive looks scary
GT2RS - the king of tarmac and gravel!
@xxkilleroxx How the name of the car says,quattro, if you not know what that call, it calls so much like AWD, the GT2 RS had BWD, and the Audi is lighter.
The Porsche dosen't looks slow, go buy glasses
congratulations to the driver but i think that he could push the car more and give more gas in a lot of corners.
R.I.P dirt
1132 miles aren't really a problem, if you're drivin' a porsche
wanna see the 2012 gtr, corvette zr1, viper acr and gt2 rs race on this Pikes Peak this shit well be good --->ANYONE AGREE WITH ME AND SEEE WHOS FASTER
He could have gone even faster. He was losing a lot of time in the corners.
Come on Jeff, break 11min next year!
porsche is wonderfull!!!
its so quiet
only if I can drive a RR car like that
I want one :-(
The GT2 RS is rear wheel drive. Kick rocks hater.
What a dumb comparison. FXX cost like 5x as much and you don't even get to take possession of it.
The fxx isn't road legal
hey its me at 1:08
for me it looks to slow too...look Walter racing the hill
