@@BernonCars That's one of the coolest names I've ever heard. It's sounds like a Star Trek character. "I am Bern Romulus of the Toyota cluster, planet Zirconia."

I never cared much for the appearance of the 4Runners but I bought a 4th gen due to the praise they get for being amazing vehicles and I have not been disappointed. I didn’t want a 3rd gen for many reasons but the biggest is its appearance. I have grown to love my 4Runner and won’t own any other SUV other than maybe a Landcruiser if I could afford the gas. Great video.
Good review. I've been driving my 2008 4Runner for almost 12 years now and it still rides and looks like new,, with only regular dealer maintenance. Unlike many other SUV's, this one doesn't faint at the first sign of dirt.
Came by your video by chance as I was looking for more 4th gen info; I bought a used 05' v6 ltd a couple years back. Definitely appreciate the relaxed and concise format of the review, and I love that you cover lots of various older cars too rather than the typical car channels that's all about the latest model (great for people who bought used cars recently that wanna know more)
I call the 4th gen 4Runner a family heirloom. Because my uncle has one. My cousin has one. My grandfather has one. My father has one. Now I'm getting one soon.
Really enjoyed your video! Lots of great info on the other gen models too. I have an 03 SR5 V6 4wd and love it! 227,000 miles and holding up great. These really are an under appreciated vehicle. Nothing against the 5th gen, but I'm really enjoying my old 4th gen. Thanks for the video, look forward to the off road one!
I just got an '05 with the 4.7L V8! It's BEAUTIFUL. It's the SR5 SPORT, Gold, with black rims and nice offroad BF Goodrich tires. I'm so stoked. It's only got 148K miles on it!

I absolutely love my 3rd gen 4runner. w/250k it's barely broken in & still running strong. I regret giving my 87 clean title 22re 4runner 4×4 to my brother. He sold it fir $500.
We got a 2005 brand new from the dealer with 10 miles on it. It’s got 219k now and it runs great, zero issues. Only thing we had to do was general maintenance and replace wear and tear stuff.
Just bought an 07 Limited V6. Looks great for the age and mileage (215K). Have not driven it much yet but looking forward to a few years of reliable motoring.
@@kevinadame5466 Love the 4Runner. We put 10K miles on it, mostly driving around town. It's been very reliable so far. Only maintenance was a new battery, new spare tire lowering pulley, and the middle steering wheel shaft. The shaft is known to go bad at one point making the steering wheel stiff. Part is not expensive but labor is a bit higher due to rust. Put in the black TRD pro 17" wheels on it which updated the look quite a bit.
I love my 2005 Limited 4X4 my leather seats are still good I did a little modern extra's a few years back I put the Weather Teck floormates in, (Snow) add a new Pioneer Touchscreen radio with back cam, & mike so I can talk through the speaker's subwoofer and AMP and 4" lift kit & lever kit, Love your video!

You really know your 4runners, great review. Thank you. I am finding that the used 4runners of this era are going for a lot more $ than Honda Pilots of the same era.
Excellent work. Thanks for putting it out. And with rare style. Spot-on focus and your knowledge isowledge is Made me want a 4R. Hey, maybe "Feel the Bern" isn't a bad show title? That driving height-position sounds off-putting. Like a Uhaul bus. Is it totally odd, "feeling on top of it?" Cheers
Next: maybe a show on best used truck/suv to buy in this market? I'm looking for a used 4wd/awd truck/suv, thinking that's the only sweet spot in this demand/inflation market. Agree? Private sellers only? Which models would you consider. Say, $8-20K or so? No worries if not, Bern. Cheers

how do the 4X4 versions of this generation ride on regular paved roads? Do they ride like a school bus? Some 4X4 vehicles do, which is understandable especially if they are on a truck frame. thx
Rear differential of my 2005 4Runner broke which has only 98000 miles on it.
