True. Nautilus was just plain awful. They have to get everything right to make it work. With so many picks that faker can use to be useful. Malphite top. Ugh, it feels like they are testing champions and comps to be honest
Maybe yall should watch the series LIVE instead of judging the naut pick only by watching highlights.
Naut was never a bad pick. What you should be questioning here is letting go the wukong in game 4. Lulu ban was a huge blunder and kindred into an annie and wukong had been exposed in game 1. They flexed Naut to sp until JDG picked annie and wukong, which explains the inevitable pick of Tahm, and thats where they lost because they went an off theme team composition that got hard countered by what JDG has. So in what way Naut pick was the "biggest" issue.
Blaming Naut pick on game 5 is the biggest copium ever. T1 literally gapped JDG in draft by MILES. Naut was a huge setup for Gwen with Abys+Even. Theres Maokai and Lulu to stop every engages from non existent Rakan and an irrelevant Sylas. Gwen is literally immortal that game. Theres no way JDG should ever win with that sin draft. They even had 5k gold lead before the baron hook, they literally only had to wait for a better teamfight again because no way JDG outscales them. But we cant deny the fact that JDG played super well.
No Naut pick is not the problem. Faker's mistake COST them the game. Simple as that.

Im just going to say it man and if the blind T1 fanboys want to come at me fair enough. Faker was completely atrocious on his Nautilus. Was a complete and utter liability in games 1 and 5, which is a huge factor in why T1 lost today. Edit : And his Tristana in game 2 was also all kinds of terrible.

Yeah JDG wasn't prepared for the double shell mid and base speedrun strat. LPL teams like to use heralds for max gold (so usually one mid one sidelane on plates if doubleshell), so JDG has the mentality that losing an ARAM teamfight early-mid game is fine and didn't work very hard on preparing for strats against flank. They obviously worked on that and coped with the Gwen flank well game 5.
Probably one of the best BO5 series we've seen in a long long time.....

For the first 4 games, T1 and JDG are playing in complete opposite styles of what I expected, where T1 won their games with one single huge teamfight and JDG won with the classic LCK macro and objective control. Game 5 is completely neck and neck until a huge mistake from T1. Can't wait to see another 3 insane series and hopefully T1 can get a rematch with JDG!

i mean when you really think about it, jdg should have won clearly (if you ignore inflated numbers from polls due to the amount of fans t1 has). jdg is the epitome of a super team with each role being at least top 3 and can arguably be the number 1 in the world barring maybe missing. to me, this was just an expected result. i'm surprised it even got to silver scrapes at all

It was just easier to JDG to defeat them because they didn't have to make The double of effort they require to make damage with Nautilus and Thresh / Tham Kench on the same game. I just can't understand why Faker kept forcing Nautilus. Or why Oner didn't pick something with more damage. Idk, a Lillia would have been fine if you are willing to play Nautilus and Thresh. They'd have more time to let the carries do their job. But they were extremely dependant on Gumayusi. Even Zeus could've carried if he was properly peeled. Idk, a Renata, a Zyra or even a Morgana would have gotten better results. JDG didn't do anything surprising, it's like...they just've played right xd
@@bigchief1566 Turns out that Faker on damage carry was worse. The Ahri was a tiny bit better (with one or two E-F picks), but Faker's Ahri is just not it rn. Knight's Ahri usually gets 6-7 charges of spirit rush every teamfight and does an insane amount of on-point damage. If Faker can only capitalize on the pick skillshot, Naut is straight up the better drafting option for him.

Game 5 was a questionable draft from T1. Jinx and Rakan were already picked first. Faker could have gotten Lissandra since their main goal is to get Ruler.
