Many of you are confused about the note so I will clarify. TSA will leave a slip in your checked suitcase if they go through it! It wasn't a hand-written note, it's a standard note of inspection. I've gotten it many times before but nothing was stolen before. And to those few saying this story is made up-- that's ridiculous. I would be seen carrying the bag in Boston. I run into subscribers daily. The Stampede would enjoy me drinking water for 15 minutes straight, I don't need fake storytimes to stay afloat. (I will only continuously fake travel to Italy bc that's an ongoing joke.) I feel violated and hurt but people have it a LOT worse than I do so I'm grateful for the opportunity to even casually shop luxury. I debated making this video for weeks. I was so happy to spend a little but of my ad revenue on this purse. I learned my lesson though: get travel insurance and NEVER check valuables. TSA needs to be exposed even though this wasn't a fun video to make.

I filed the claim three weeks ago and haven't heard back. :( My friend got a Prada bag stolen the same way and got no answer after a year of trying. I just feel sick to my stomach and almost guilty for buying something so nice, although I shouldn't. I thought making this video would make me feel better and more relieved but it just refuels my anger. I might delete it.

Just an FYI for everyone: your renter’s/homeowner’s insurance covers theft of your personal belongings WHEREVER you are in the world. It’s really inexpensive as well so get a $0 deductible.
This is true. I only bring one luxury bag and it is the one I carry on. If you must take another bag I would wrap it in a dingy grocery store tote with a t-shirt then wrapped around that lol.

I've looked into it and the cost of a lawyer is 4x the cost of the bag. I don't know if it's worth it but I will sure make this story as public as possible (that's why I made this!)
When you check your bags in, usually it’s an airline agent that checks you in. TSA agents don’t handle that. File a claim with Delta, you’ll get reimbursed.
The airline agent checks you in, but TSA are the one's that do random bag checks. That's why the note left in the suitcase stated the bad was searched by TSA.

Ugh, this has happened to us so many times. Once, a friend was bringing Christmas pjs for my kids (I live in Guatemala, so I ordered on Amazon and he was bringing them down). Someone went through his bag and took some of the other gifts he had, and ONE pair of the matching jammies. So my kids had no matching pjs for Christmas. My sister has had her bag done in many times, too. What we do now is put a note on the top of the bag saying that everything in this luggage is itemized on a list and we will pursue legal action if it goes missing.
You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT about there being theft rings in airports, because years ago literally a week or so before I went to Vegas the story made the news about a bunch of TSA agents at a major airport in my region getting busted for stealing from people's luggage. This is exactly why when I went to Las Vegas I typed out an itemized list of every single thing in my luggage, then I put it inside of my bag on top of my stuff. The note also said that the list in the bag was 1/3 or one of three copies of the list because I put two in the checked bag and one in my carry on bag. I also locked my zippers with not only that "TSA approved" lock, but with a zip tie-- which I had colored and marked in a unique way so I would know if somebody had tampered with it and called themselves replacing it with a new one.

When people think of a crime victim they tend to only think of people who've been physically harmed but when someone steals something you've worked hard for it's such a horrible feeling. Sorry this happened.
You can’t have a criminal history to work for TSA. And if a note was left in your bag saying it was checked, why take something?! Cameras are strategically placed over all over the airports. The last people to touch your bags are the ramp agents. Nobody would be able to steal anything from you that works with TSA, the consequences are far to great and not worth it. And you’d be amazed at the amount of TSA workers that can afford nice bags. It’s not a six figure paying job, but buying a nice bag isn’t hard to do.

As a frequent traveler, I learned the hard way that you keep valuables with you in your carry-on. If you can travel only with a carry-on, that's even better.
Something like this happened to my Godmother years ago - like in the 90's. She and my Godfather were going over sees, and before she got on the plane they wanted to check her fanny pack, (nothing too expensive or fancy here). When she got it back her money was gone. It was about $1000. She wrote a letter, I'm not sure to whom, but knowing her it was probably to the airport, the company that employed the workers, and for some reason I seem to remember an official agency like an embassy, or the United Nations, because when she reported it, they were pretty much like "we can't do anything". However, I don't remember all of what happened, but I believe the lady that did it got in trouble, cause they found out who it was, but I'm not sure if she got her money back. It seems like she did get some of it though. You may want to try writing a few important people. If you do, good luck!

One of the reasons why I keep all valuables in my carry on. I am sorry this happened to you. I like to think airport people are honest but it is better to be safe than sorry. I also haven't checked my bag in the past 3-4 years as I tend to prepare a capsule wardrobe for when I travel.
OMG, this totally. does. happen. I know so many people who have had stuff stolen from their checked bags. A whole history of people. My fear of checking in my bag is *always* that something will get stolen, because I know so many people that this has happened to.

I’m so sorry that this happened. It is sad how the police are worthless when it comes to having items stolen. I had neighbors stealing our packages, reported it, had evidence (went through the trash and took photos - the idiot threw away my items), and the police still did nothing. I get murders are more important than my stolen video games but I felt so violated!

Delta reimbursed me for a stolen item in my bag. I had the receipt and told them it was in there when I checked the bag, got home and it was gone.

As a flight attendant, I’m so sorry this happened to you! Use carry on bags only folks and watch them closely! People still “accidentally” grab the wrong carry on when exiting the aircraft. It’s okay to bring your designer purchase onboard, and ask the flight crew to help watch it for you also! Love you Kelly!

(I’ve had this note before in NY, didn’t miss any of my belongings). not saying she is faking a story, BUT lacks on proof for such serious accusation, a receipt doesn’t proof anything besides the fact someone bought a channel purse (which we know she has)... but whatever, she will probably just delete my comment and block me from the page. 😂

You can’t have a criminal history to work for TSA. And if a note was left in your bag saying it was checked, why take something?! Cameras are strategically placed over all over the airports. The last people to touch your bags are the ramp agents. Nobody would be able to steal anything from you that works with TSA, the consequences are far to great and not worth it. And you’d be amazed at the amount of TSA workers that can afford nice bags. It’s not a six figure paying job, but buying a nice bag isn’t hard to do.
the note said it was confiscated, maybe i suck at English but it is not the same as checked and from what you saying it shows even more that they have people all over the airport to make sure there are no lose ends. if cops can be corrupt what does the TSA have that make it impossible, they are human too.

As a frequent traveler, I learned the hard way that you keep valuables with you in your carry-on. If you can travel only with a carry-on, that's even better.

Something like this happened to my Godmother years ago - like in the 90's. She and my Godfather were going over sees, and before she got on the plane they wanted to check her fanny pack, (nothing too expensive or fancy here). When she got it back her money was gone. It was about $1000. She wrote a letter, I'm not sure to whom, but knowing her it was probably to the airport, the company that employed the workers, and for some reason I seem to remember an official agency like an embassy, or the United Nations, because when she reported it, they were pretty much like "we can't do anything". However, I don't remember all of what happened, but I believe the lady that did it got in trouble, cause they found out who it was, but I'm not sure if she got her money back. It seems like she did get some of it though. You may want to try writing a few important people. If you do, good luck!

What you went through was absolutely awful, I wouldn't wish that on anyone, people really need to stop discrediting other's experiences, and hardships, especially when they weren't there. I like to think airport people are honest but it is better to be safe than sorry. I also haven't checked my bag in the past 3-4 years as I tend to prepare a capsule wardrobe for when I travel.

OMG, this totally. does. happen. I know so many people who have had stuff stolen from their checked bags. A whole history of people. My fear of checking in my bag is *always* that something will get stolen, because I know so many people that this has happened to.
As someone who travels a lot, I really appreciate you putting this video out. This is not something that I think about all the time and I definitely should! I’m so sorry that this happened. It is sad how the police are worthless when it comes to having items stolen. I had neighbors stealing our packages, reported it, had evidence (went through the trash and took photos - the idiot threw away my items), and the police still did nothing. I get murders are more important than my stolen video games but I felt so violated!
