This is true. I only bring one luxury bag and it is the one I carry on. If you must take another bag I would wrap it in a dingy grocery store tote with a t-shirt then wrapped around that lol.

Many of you are confused about the note so I will clarify. TSA will leave a slip in your checked suitcase if they go through it! It wasn't a hand-written note, it's a standard note of inspection. I've gotten it many times before but nothing was stolen before.
And to those few saying this story is made up-- that's ridiculous. I would be seen carrying the bag in Boston. I run into subscribers daily. The Stampede would enjoy me drinking water for 15 minutes straight, I don't need fake storytimes to stay afloat. (I will only continuously fake travel to Italy bc that's an ongoing joke.) I feel violated and hurt but people have it a LOT worse than I do so I'm grateful for the opportunity to even casually shop luxury. I debated making this video for weeks. I was so happy to spend a little but of my ad revenue on this purse. I learned my lesson though: get travel insurance and NEVER check valuables. TSA needs to be exposed even though this wasn't a fun video to make.

I filed the claim three weeks ago and haven't heard back. :( My friend got a Prada bag stolen the same way and got no answer after a year of trying. I just feel sick to my stomach and almost guilty for buying something so nice, although I shouldn't. I thought making this video would make me feel better and more relieved but it just refuels my anger. I might delete it.

Kelly...this sounds like a legal case. To think that a note was even left is enough evidence. Insurance or not. It's important to teach these guys a lesson.
I've looked into it and the cost of a lawyer is 4x the cost of the bag. I don't know if it's worth it but I will sure make this story as public as possible (that's why I made this!)

I also learned to never trust airport employees. My mother’s expensive jewelries were the only things gone when we opened our suitcases 🧳 after arriving at our destination. This happened a few years ago and it’s a long story of how we were poorly treated at the airport, but, yes, there are insiders at the airport stealing and scamming travelers. This is an organized crime. I think airport security needs to check their own asses before pretending to check us for “security reasons.”

Ugh, this has happened to us so many times. Once, a friend was bringing Christmas pjs for my kids (I live in Guatemala, so I ordered on Amazon and he was bringing them down). Someone went through his bag and took some of the other gifts he had, and ONE pair of the matching jammies. So my kids had no matching pjs for Christmas. My sister has had her bag done in many times, too.
What we do now is put a note on the top of the bag saying that everything in this luggage is itemized on a list and we will pursue legal action if it goes missing.
Have you any missing items since you started doing this?

When you check your bags in, usually it’s an airline agent that checks you in. TSA agents don’t handle that. File a claim with Delta, you’ll get reimbursed.

The airline agent checks you in, but TSA are the one's that do random bag checks. That's why the note left in the suitcase stated the bad was searched by TSA.

Delta reimbursed me for a stolen item in my bag. I had the receipt and told them it was in there when I checked the bag, got home and it was gone.

You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT about there being theft rings in airports, because years ago literally a week or so before I went to Vegas the story made the news about a bunch of TSA agents at a major airport in my region getting busted for stealing from people's luggage.
This is exactly why when I went to Las Vegas I typed out an itemized list of every single thing in my luggage, then I put it inside of my bag on top of my stuff.
The note also said that the list in the bag was 1/3 or one of three copies of the list because I put two in the checked bag and one in my carry on bag.
I also locked my zippers with not only that "TSA approved" lock, but with a zip tie-- which I had colored and marked in a unique way so I would know if somebody had tampered with it and called themselves replacing it with a new one.
I always put my valuables in a carry on tote bag that doesn’t zip so they can never make me check them! Works like a charm. I never trust anyone at the airports. PS can we see a Chanel replacement bag shopping vlog!
I am for sure doing that next time, although I'm permanently scarred form wanting to travel again. I should make a Chanel bag replacement video!

You can’t have a criminal history to work for TSA. And if a note was left in your bag saying it was checked, why take something?! Cameras are strategically placed over all over the airports. The last people to touch your bags are the ramp agents. Nobody would be able to steal anything from you that works with TSA, the consequences are far to great and not worth it. And you’d be amazed at the amount of TSA workers that can afford nice bags. It’s not a six figure paying job, but buying a nice bag isn’t hard to do.
the note said it was confiscated, maybe i suck at English but it is not the same as checked and from what you saying it shows even more that they have people all over the airport to make sure there are no lose ends. if cops can be corrupt what does the TSA have that make it impossible, they are human too.

I had neighbors stealing our packages, reported it, had evidence (went through the trash and took photos - the idiot threw away my items), and the police still did nothing. Lol the sarcasm in this video made me laugh. Laughter and comedy aside, I work for TSA (Transportation Security Administration- not The Stealing Agents), and I search through checked-in luggage regularly, but ONLY for items that are deemed a threat to aviation aka bombs/explosives/incendiaries.
I can tell you that the areas where we handle passenger property has cameras galore, and there is no way an officer could get away with taking something of that size or value. A lot of the time when items go missing in a passenger’s bag, the airline baggage handlers (who transport the bags to the airplane) ruffle through people’s things because no cameras are in sight.
Not to say that there aren’t any bad apples who work for TSA, but I can guarantee that it would be extremely difficult to get away with any kind of theft. At my airport, an officer was fired for taking a can of soup, which was meant to be thrown away because a passenger voluntarily surrendered the oversized liquid at the checkpoint.
Regardless, I’m sorry to hear that someone had the audacity to steal something that didn’t belong to them (whoever it happened to be) 😩
Keep your head up Kelly, don't listen to the jealous and bitter people in the comments who are questioning you. It's obnoxious, and the rest of us are so proud to see you flourish. What you went through was absolutely awful, I wouldn't wish that on anyone, people really need to stop discrediting other's experiences, and hardships, especially when they weren't there. Never Pack anything of value in your checked luggage.. I Repeat NEVER!!! Keep everything in your carry on & don’t let then check it at the gate! And DON'T leave it at the walkway area (The area before you get on the plane) NEVER EVER!!! That's where It all goes down! (The Stealing)
I agree with you on the ring of people working to get you to check your bag in so they can steal. I will not get on a flight before I let them check my bag in.
