If you play around with the dipswitches, you can access a cancelled Japanese prototype illustrated by Yumimi Mix and Dinosaur Island illustrator Izumi Takemoto.
This reminds me how Taito America decided to cancel the release of Bubble Buster, which had to be the North American version of Puzzle Bobble, for the B-System (not the Neo-Geo).
@ssnsonic2.0 Actually, given that the mode select and instruction screen use variations of the song, I think the song might have come from this game first but was repurposed for Puzzle Bobble 2 after it got cancelled.

Ugh. I don't think anything valuable was lost when they cancelled this one. Frankly, I'd rather play Volfied. This has all the menace of a Nerf bat.
I thought that said Twin Dix 😂
Why does it have to sound like anime? The original had that scary humming buzzing sound. Brrrrr zzzzzz
The reason: it's using Puzzle Bobble 2/Bust-A-Move 2 Soundfont. (One of the themes comes from the game)

judging from the tcrf page, it's a localization thing
they changed the graphics for the us region, but must've left all audio as is
Boy, you would have HATED Super Qix. And frankly, I can't blame you for that.
@@jessragan6714Super Qix was at least fun to play. As I said elsewhere, Miss World ‘96 Nude was better than this, bootleg or not.
