I must confess I laughed like hell when I first watched it. But gradually I have realised that cinematography, editing, lighting and sound effects are absolutely brilliant in this scene.Par excellence for a scene shot sixty years ago. Please appreciate
fakhir imran i agree. also those times there were no gyms so they would do bodyweight workouts and endurance trainings. they were stronger than the 6 pack abb dudes today. more stamina. whole natural food. no processed refined flavor shit
Despite the unusual fight scene I think the shot is amazing Check out the camera angles And the editing It’s almost so natural Mind it this was a time with no software editing and all Shots were mostly a single take And then merely edited manually Now this is some awesome cinematography
Brilliant work by the team , having such short edits and camera work at the age of black and white film rolls is exceptionally talented art. Eventhough the fight is laughable but the way it is shot is brilliant.
Don't know how the editor had compiled these numerous shots. At that time there was no computer technology. Kudos to the editor and the cameraman. I think they planned it well. But unfortunately the fight master was on leave 😂
Liam Nek see bro, there nothing South or north- we are all Indians and I am from north India but I don't like unbelievable stunts which is like super funny. When a foreigner watches these type of movie scenes, believe they make fun of Indian movies- not South or North Indian movies. For them we all are same.
The acting of the actors is pathetic, so is the action director. But the camera work, camera angles, and video edits here are really too good for that time. Talented cinematographer right there.

You Talking about Editing , Camera shots , Angles , Photography But the first thing coming to my mind is how did he built that great body at the time where very few knew about bodybuilding or fitness
Who the heck said people didn't knew about or didn't concerned about health and body building those days huh?? People now are not concerned about health. People now are only concerned about others looking at them and sex
beautiful cinematography,... awesome lighting... wish this skill comes back to our cinema now... I think the fight was inspired from the chess movements.. but hilarious whatsoever..
Yes it's a laughing stock for today's world but imagine the scenario of that time. It's really beautiful. Camera angles, knowledge (as per those days) and one special thing was the physique of villain. It's really very well made and ultra modern. We should show some respect to those artists who, despite of so many handicaps, did this. 👌👌👌👌👌👌
Though this is a laugh riot, I can see that the director was held back by his times, both in terms of actors' capability and movie making technology. The director's execution and style is actually very very promising of a great hand-to-hand combat sequence. Notice the lighting, the attempt to draw the viewer into the intensity of the characters, the breathing only sound effect. But all that was goofed up by pretty much everything else.
Clearly this is a fight form from ancient Lapland. Its called Fyte 2 da Finnish. It combines elements from Aikado, Karate and the Whac-a-Mole; and - as per recent studies - many lesser known residents of the periodic table..also the pants were painted on.
This is a real ancient fighting art form, called Manogenio. It combines dance, poetry and fighting all in one. Practitioners of these art form usually are knights or upper class lords that recites poetry against the opponent, while carefully coordinating movements with accurate but deadly blows. It originated from Cordobah in Spain
Even though this is hilarious and looks goofy, the more I watch it, the more I like what they did. I mean whats logical now, might look funny 20 years from now. Thats how it is and will be. The camera work, lighting, fight choreography everything looks very chic for those days!
Not really. Bruce Lee movies still look logical today, because he used actual martial arts, and did it right. Generally there's a growing martial arts awareness going on in the past few decades, so movie combat appears more realistic each time, and will appear the same, no matter how much time passes. This one? It looks funny now not because it's old. It's funny because it's shit from the get go.
People are making fun of the fight but its choreographed super artistically. The opponents basicslly realize they are well matched and that striking at all would open them up to being vulnerable to the other opponent. So they make their moves extremely deliberately and only strike when needed and have their guard up otherwise. A good example is when they could have gauged out eachother's eyes but both of them stopped because no one would have a clear advantage. Later, one of the fighters who is taking hits starts desperately flailing as a last resort.
This is the most original fight sequence i have ever seen. besides the cheesiness there are some very good aspects about this. interesting angles with first person, second person and third person views. Some of it is very Quentin Tarantino-esk. The filming style is way ahead of it's time. I don't think they intended it to be this funny. I love the punching the hole that's 4 times bigger than his fist yet it somehow stuck in the hole!
One beauty in this fight is social distance was maintained.
